On their side, they also hurriedly and rather clumsily started fighting.
Comparisons really are infuriating.
Even though Jia Yan’s single ship had already drawn most of the enemy’s attention, they still had two battleships get hit in the very first wave.
And that was with Captain Level veterans; if it had been those average Warship Pilot players from Earth Civilization, more than half of the battleships would’ve been destroyed in this round.
Fortunately, of these two ships, only one player failed to dodge in time, got blasted, the battleship exploded, and he lost his Level 15 game character.
The other ship was only lightly damaged, nothing too serious.
"Hurry, let’s go support Lord Jia Yan."
"No need. Does Lord Jia Yan look like he’s under pressure? We just hold a few battleships here for him, that’s enough."
"Heh, now I get why Lord Jia Yan isn’t interested in this kind of battle at all. I think he’s either a top Warship Pilot, or at least a Stellar Level Strong One... otherwise how could his piloting be this ridiculous?"
"He should be a top Warship Pilot. You really think it’s possible he’s at least Stellar Level?"
"True, I’m talking too much. He’s definitely a top Warship Pilot. Even so, with this kind of piloting, as long as he has a decent battleship in the Starry Sky, he could probably fight a Semi-permanent Star Level opponent. That’s terrifying."
The pilots following Jia Long behind were all scared stiff by Jia Yan’s invincible aura.
Each and every one of them was dumbfounded.
Jia Yan was simply too terrifying—he charged alone into a formation of a hundred battleships.
On paper, both sides’ battleship Level data were the most basic, yet none of them could inflict the slightest damage on Jia Yan’s battleship. And his movement speed was nothing like the same Level at all; it was as if the ships were separated by several generations of Technology.
Jia Yan’s movements—his dodges, his sudden shifts—were all textbook maneuvers, so perfect it made people suspect a machine was doing the operating.
Jia Yan was of course not a machine; in fact, if it were a machine, its movements might be more precise, but it would absolutely not have this kind of tactical sense.
That’s right, even if to others it looked like Jia Yan was fighting very simply, this fight still required tactics. Otherwise how could he, with a battleship of the same Level and Technology, force such a massive number of enemy ships into being unable to counterattack?
It required not only combat maneuvers like dodging, but also an overall perspective—one built on countless battles of experience.
Of course, for Jia Yan, he wasn’t even putting much effort in right now; he was just fighting based on his experience.
These battles, to him, were as easy as eating or drinking. The strength of a Super Powerhouse wasn’t something ordinary beings could imagine or figure out. Actions that looked mythical to others were as casual as eating and drinking to Star River level existence like him.
"Oh? That battleship looks a bit strong. Let’s go take it out."
From afar, Jia Yan was almost hit by a shot from one battleship’s cannons. His eyes lit up, he flew over to that battleship, and with a single beam, wiped it out in the Starry Sky.
It wasn’t that Jia Yan wanted to eliminate a difficult opponent to reduce danger for himself; he just knew that while he didn’t care, that Warship Pilot player could be a huge threat to the Fleet behind him.
He had no idea that the battleship he casually destroyed in one shot was actually the Commander of those hundred battleships—their team’s only highest-ranking Commander in that Civilization.
"Ah, the major Captain’s dead!"
"What do you mean the major Captain’s dead? Only his Level 15 game character died."
"Yeah, the major Captain’s Level 15 game character died. If even he’s dead, we’re definitely done for."
"Who cares, dead is dead. Who can swallow this humiliation? At worst we just quit the game. We have to take down a few more of their battleships!"
"Right, it’s obvious now. The final Assassin of this Civilization isn’t that spaceship, it’s that battleship’s pilot. If we can’t kill him, then we kill his teammates."
One after another, the enemy game players rushed toward Jia Yan’s companions behind him.
If this were a real war, with the Commander gone, the soldiers would definitely choose to flee, because that’s how they’d stay alive.
But a game is different. Everyone knows dying doesn’t cost their real life. If they run, not only is the gameplay experience terrible, but even if they escape, that Civilization with the powerful pilot might wipe out their game’s Civilization later. Once the Civilization is gone, the players vanish too. So running is useless; better to weaken the enemy Civilization’s remaining Combat Power as much as possible.
This is the biggest difference between a game and reality.
At least in the game, even though most people don’t have much piloting experience, they’re not afraid of death.
"Fall back, fast! We can’t beat this many battleships!"
Behind Jia Yan, although it was also a group of experts, facing enemies several times their number, they had no confidence in victory at all. After all, not everyone was Jia Yan.
This group of experts all rapidly retreated backward.
And Jia Yan didn’t dare recklessly rush over to bail them out either. His strength was based on using a roaming tactic; if he hurried too much to rescue them, he might end up putting himself into a near-death situation.
