Huo Sining and Gu Xu exchanged a glance, both unconsciously showing signs of worry.
Although this place is still within Hua Country’s territorial waters, it is already dozens of nautical miles away from the mainland. Before getting off the yacht, Huo Sining checked the area; there was no signal tower, and the phone was out of service, so it seemed almost impossible to contact Wu Jun & Su Qingqing by phone. The only option was to find them by following the direction they went.
But this island is also dozens of square miles in size, so truly finding these two is not an easy task.
Huo Sining and Gu Xu looked at the four or five little ones following them, frowning, it was really not appropriate to act recklessly.
"Let’s wait a bit longer. Wu Jun is a former member of Falcon, under normal circumstances, four or five ordinary people can’t get close to him. Moreover, I know his personality; he’s become more stable in recent years and surely acts with consideration. If there is real danger, he will definitely prioritize Su Qingqing’s safety and won’t act recklessly."
Gu Xu spoke to Su Jinyuan.
Although Su Jinyuan was worried about Su Qingqing’s safety, he also knew Gu Xu made sense. If there was real danger, even if he went, it would be of no use. Furthermore, Wu Jun tends to think things over; if faced with a situation he can’t handle, he will surely find a way to inform them instead of acting alone.
As the group of people anxiously waited, Su Qingqing and Wu Jun indeed began to emerge slowly, but what surprised everyone was that the two were supporting someone, struggling as they walked, appearing very difficult.
The crowd at the original spot rushed over to greet them, and before they could inquire about the situation, they were stunned by the scene before them.
Su Qingqing and Wu Jun were supporting a man, whose body was covered in injuries, blood dripping, seemingly severely injured.
Gu Xu was the first to speak, asking, "What happened?"
He directed his question at Wu Jun.
Wu Jun placed the injured stranger down on the oiled cloth on the beach and explained: "When we were just taking a walk to the other side of the island, we saw someone floating over from the sea at a distance, and rescued him. However, he was injured all over, and things don’t look good."
Upon hearing this, Huo Sining frowned; the person’s origins were unclear, and she wasn’t sure of the situation, so she instinctively asked:
"Where did this person drift from, and can you tell what injured him? Do he have any identification?"
Wu Jun shook his head: "I checked, there’s nothing, I don’t know what his background is. But since we’ve encountered him, we can’t just leave him to die."
Upon hearing Wu Jun’s words, Huo Sining couldn’t refute him; she nodded in agreement. Over there, Gu Xu and Su Jinyuan had found the inflatable raft from the tent, pumped air into it, and prepared to take the injured man back to the yacht.
"Wait!"
Just as Gu Xu and Su Jinyuan were inflating the raft, Yue Shuwen brought over a basin of clean water and cleaned the blood from the injured man’s face. To her surprise, once wiped clean, his clear facial features were revealed, causing Yue Shuwen to freeze and instinctively shout at Huo Sining:
"Ningning, come take a look!"
"What’s up?" Huo Sining asked instinctively.
Yue Shuwen pointed at the stranger: "You should recognize this person. It’s the Tomb Robber we went with to Miao Village Underground Palace, who entered with those Dongyang folks, the guy called Oil Rat!"
Upon hearing this, Huo Sining was shocked and instinctively looked at the man lying on the ground.
With one look, Huo Sining confirmed that this was indeed the Tomb Robber from City C!
Internally, Huo Sining sighed. It seemed she had quite a complex connection with this old fellow.
Back then, when Huo Sining went to investigate the antique swap case at Hunan Province Museum, it led her to Zeng Fugui, and then she learned about the existence of this Oil Rat from the Yunling Ancient Tomb in Xianyang to the underground maze in the Miao Village. It seemed Huo Sining had forged an unbreakable bond with this Tomb Robber.
The underground maze in Miao Village was flooded by the underground river, and Huo Sining rescued this person from it; Oil Rat barely escaped death and was quite thankful to Huo Sining, once declaring to her that he would wash his hands of the underground business for good. At the time, Huo Sining merely smiled, not taking it to heart, and even she did not expect to meet this old guy again.
But Huo Sining found that this conclusion might have been premature; she certainly didn’t expect to encounter him in such circumstances again.
"It’s Oil Rat; how did he end up here?" Huo Sining was quite puzzled, but at this moment, it was evident that this old guy had already fainted due to excessive blood loss, unable to answer Huo Sining’s questions for the time being.
The group scrambled to get Oil Rat onto the boat, and Huo Sining used the cabin’s cover to take out a medical kit from Space.
Back then, Huo Sining participated in earthquake rescue, and ever since, she kept a habit of storing a medical kit in her storage ring, allowing for timely rescue equipment in unexpected situations like today.
Huo Sining’s medical kit was primarily stocked with special emergency medicines and treatment tools. However, even these special medicines and tools couldn’t wholly pull Oil Rat back from Ghost Gate Pass, but Oil Rat was lucky to encounter Huo Sining. In their group, they had four or five Jiaoren; with Spiritual Pearl in hand, saving a person was quite easy.
As Huo Sining’s Spiritual Energy flowed into Oil Rat’s body, his wounds quickly began to heal. However, it was only with this probe that Huo Sining discovered Oil Rat’s surface skin injuries were nothing compared to the real mortal wounds involving this guy’s internal organs.
This man had been struck by a sharp weapon, causing multiple organ injuries; his abdomen was filled with clotted blood and purulent material, his internal organs were entwined, putting him in critical condition and in an extremely dangerous state.
If he hadn’t drifted to this island or encountered Wu Jun & Su Qingqing who saved him, chances are he would have met his end at sea today.
Not having time to figure out exactly who forsook this guy to such a miserable plight, Huo Sining, although not particularly fond of Oil Rat, found it hard to just leave someone she knew to die. So she was left with no choice but to take the effort to save him.
Once Spiritual Energy was injected, Oil Rat trembled all over, his eyes trembled open, groggily seeing a blurry figure before him. He vaguely judged it was a woman but did not have the time to speak before fainting again.
