Han Xuehan handed him the blue crabs that Han Ruochen had caught and said, "These are nothing much. Take them home and cook them for your family."

"We have too many of them." Han Xuehan was not confident about many things, but when it came to the things that Han Ruochen hunted, she had absolute confidence in giving them away because there was no way her sister would have an opinion about it.

She smiled at the man and said, "You have helped me greatly. If you didn’t come..." she trailed off, not saying another word. After all, Qiao Tingyan was still her husband. "Be careful on the road."

After saying that, she turned around on her feet and walked back inside her house.

Zhu Kun stayed in the same spot and watched Han Xuehan go inside with a complicated look in his eyes, but after a long pause, he shook his head and walked away.

At night, when Second Aunt Han came to the kitchen, she saw the missing blue crabs and couldn’t help but feel annoyed. She was planning to send those blue crabs to her mother.

Han Xuehan’s expression turned awkward while Old Madam Han’s expression turned a little more understanding. She seemed to have realised why her second daughter-in-law was making a fuss. She pursed her lips and said, "So what if they are gone? Did you catch them? Or did you hunt them?"

"You didn’t, so what if they are missing? Does it have to do with you?"

When Second Aunt Han heard her mother-in-law’s remark, she was stunned. She couldn’t help but say, "How can it not matter? Those crabs were hanging in our kitchen. If they are lost, then of course, we need to see it through to the end!"

Those were blue crabs! Each of them cost at least seventy yuan, and each one of them tasted really good. How could she just let the matter go without holding the one who was responsible for the disappearance of the blue crabs accountable?

"Who are you to see it through to the end? Are you a policeman? Or are you the one who caught them? I don’t think so!" Old Madam Han dropped the dried seaweed that she had just finished collecting and got up from the wooden strip outside in the courtyard.

She shot a look at Second Aunt Han, who immediately turned pale after seeing the gaze with which her mother-in-law was looking at her. She lowered her head and said in a low voice, "Mom, no matter what, those things belonged to us. How could anyone give those crabs away?"

"Second Aunt, I am so sorry about those crabs, but I was the one who gave them away." Han Xuehan didn’t expect such a troublesome thing to happen just because she gave a few crabs away. What was more, these crabs were what her sister had caught. So, was there a need to make a fuss over it? She couldn’t understand it.

Second Aunt Han immediately pursed her lips and turned to look at her mother-in-law with a look of distaste in her eyes. What did she say? They had let a wolf in their house!

"What are you looking at?" Old Madam Han narrowed her eyes and asked, "So what if Xuehan gave it away? Remember those crabs were given to us by Ruochen. If Xuehan wants to give them away, then she can give them away. Who are you to question her?"

"Enough, there is no need for you to say anything else. I know what has been going on in your head for ages." Old Madam Han rolled her eyes when she saw that her second daughter-in-law still wanted to quibble with her.

"You better not start with me. I know what you are thinking, and I have no intention of making things difficult for you. So you better stay quiet for me." Old Madam Han said nothing else, but the gaze alone was enough to make Second Aunt Han lower her head and turn quiet. She didn’t dare to say anything, but in her heart she was filled with anger and frustration.

This was really unfair! How could her mother-in-law support Han Xuehan to this extent? Those were one hundred and forty yuan worth of blue crabs! How could they give them away without asking?
