Shen Nian’s heart skipped a beat when she heard that familiar voice. As she turned, she could practically hear it pounding in her chest.

With Shen Nian, the main person of interest, gone, there was no reason for them to keep crowding around.

After sending the onlookers on their way, Lin Jingyun smiled as she looked up toward the floor where Shen Nian and Lu Cheng lived.

She was also surprised by Lu Cheng’s sudden return. But she was even more surprised by Shen Nian’s reaction to it.

’Who would have thought? In front of Lu Cheng, Shen Nian is so eager!’

Mostly, though, she was just happy for Shen Nian. ’The two lovebirds are finally back together!’

’I’d better go home to my Yuanjun,’ she mused. Seeing Shen Nian and Lu Cheng’s interaction made her suddenly want to be just a little bit nicer to her own husband.

It wasn’t until she had pulled Lu Cheng upstairs and through their front door that Shen Nian finally came back to her senses.

And as she came to, Shen Nian realized what she had just done in front of all those people.

But looking at Lu Cheng, Shen Nian had another thought. ’Let them laugh! Being with Lu Cheng is far more important than what they think.’

Lu Cheng hadn’t taken his eyes off Shen Nian since the moment he saw her.

It was as if he was trying to make up for all the lost time, to drink his fill of her in a single moment.

Soon, however, Lu Cheng realized that just looking wasn’t enough. It was nowhere near enough.

He reached out, took her hand, and with a single pull, brought her into his arms, holding her tight.

"Xiao Nian, I’m finally back!"
