"Oh, come on! Isn’t it just because your man dotes on you!"

Lin Jingyun said this as she pulled Shen Nian down to sit beside Zhang Ying. They were already such close friends, so naturally, she wouldn’t stand on ceremony.

"Hehe! Doesn’t your man dote on you too?"

Zhang Ying didn’t deny it. After all, it was a fact that Zhong Mingshan doted on her.

It seemed there was a reason the three of them got along so well—they were all women who were cherished by their husbands.

"It’s not just you and me. Xiao Nian’s man is even more doting. Right, Xiao Nian, hmm?"

As Lin Jingyun spoke, she gave Shen Nian a smile—the very same one she’d worn yesterday when asking about Lu Cheng in *that* department.

"Stop, stop! They’re all doting, okay? All of them! Sister Yingzi, I made some snacks this morning. Have a taste and see if you like them."

Shen Nian didn’t want to be teased by Lin Jingyun until she was beet-red again, so she decided to take the initiative and change the subject.

"Oh, you actually brought a gift! And look at me, showing up empty-handed."

Only then did Lin Jingyun notice the two bags in Shen Nian’s hands. She instantly felt a pang of regret. She had been so focused on visiting that she’d completely forgotten to prepare anything!

"Don’t worry about bringing anything! Just having you here is enough. Besides, I already have more nutritional supplements than I can eat. Please, really, don’t bring me any more!"

Zhang Ying was genuinely troubled by this. Her family and Zhong Mingshan’s family had both sent over tons of stuff. She likely had enough food to last her entire pregnancy and her postpartum confinement period.

"Sister Yingzi, this isn’t anything like that. It’s just some pastries and fruit."

’To Shen Nian’s mind, no nutritional supplement could ever be more nourishing than the fruit she cultivated in her space.’

"I’ve heard all about Xiao Nian’s amazing cooking skills. Yingzi, you’re in for a treat."

"Really? Then I have to try some right away."

As she spoke, Zhang Ying opened the pastry box Shen Nian handed her. The sight of the exquisite pastries inside made her swallow, her appetite instantly whetted.

After getting an encouraging look from Shen Nian, Zhang Ying picked one up and popped it into her mouth.

"Mmm, this is delicious! So, so good! Xiao Nian, you’re amazing!"

Zhang Ying came from a well-off family and had eaten plenty of fine foods, but Shen Nian’s pastries were easily on par with those from major brands!

"Is it really that good? Let me try one!"

Seeing there were plenty of pastries in the box Zhang Ying had opened, Lin Jingyun came over and tried one as well. Soon, she and Zhang Ying were both showering Shen Nian with compliments.

"And there’s fruit, too! Ooh, this bunch of grapes is gorgeous. You can just tell it’s going to be delicious."

"I want to try some too."

And so, the three friends huddled together, and over the course of the morning, they polished off all the pastries and fruit Shen Nian had brought.

"Xiao Nian, where did you buy this fruit? It’s so much more delicious than what we normally get!"

"Yeah! If I could always eat fruit this good, I’d happily eat it every day!"

"This fruit is a superior variety cultivated at a farm near my hometown. It’s not on the market yet. I had someone bring some over specially."

"Oh, is that so? What a shame!"

Hearing that it wasn’t yet on the market, both Lin Jingyun and Zhang Ying looked a little disappointed.

"I still have some more. I’ll send a bit over to you both later."

’In truth, Shen Nian had more than enough fruit in her space; she just couldn’t take it out so casually. If Lin Jingyun and Zhang Ying hadn’t been so good to her, she wouldn’t have brought any of it out today.’
