Earlier, he wondered why the book cover had so many fancy words, yet the title that circulated only had three words, "Wisdom Fruit".
It sounds like a children’s book.
Now he discovered that it was all nonsense. Those demons, ignorant and unskilled, guessed a few words and randomly named it.
The original title of the book is "Collection of the Wisdom of Divine Wisdom Fruit".
Indeed, it was the Dharma collection of Master Xiong, a strong figure of the Buddhism of the Demon Clan, who preached atop Ancient Nan Mountain, recorded and organized by his disciple, the tenth Dharma King below his seat.
The main topics are "Wisdom", "Spiritual Intelligence", "Basic Nature", and "Cause and Effect", discussing their relationship with Buddhism. There are also some historical notes and comments interspersed, mainly to provide proof for the teachings, and naturally, it’s not objective.
But for Jiang Wang, these are precisely the most important contents.
For example, this segment—
Disciple Xiang Mi asked: Zen Master! Where is the True Buddha, how can His Buddha be believed? Suffering and confusing the distinction between demon and human, it’s hard to feel the difference between the Two Realms. Is it Buddha?
Master Xiong replied: Buddha has no fixed outcome, Buddha has no fixed appearance, Buddha has no fixed form. That is our Buddha.
Xiang Mi, a disciple under Master Xiong, ranked fifth among the Ten Great Kings. He is quite highly regarded in the history of the Demon Clan, known for being wise yet seeming simple, diligent in sufffering, and was much loved by the followers of Ancient Nan Mountain even then. In fact, he was the most trusted among the Dharma Kings of Ancient Nan Mountain.
In this dialogue, Xiang Mi, due to the confusion and pain within his heart, asks Master Xiong—where is the True Buddha? Can I believe in His Buddha? I am troubled by the differences between the Demon Clan and Human Race, finding it hard to perceive the distinction between the Monster Realm and Human Realm, thus I am deeply pained, please tell me if what I am learning is Buddhism?
Xiang Mi’s confusion appears not complex, yet it embodies the conflict between the Demon Clan’s Buddhism and the Human Race’s Buddhism. As a Dharma King of Ancient Nan Mountain, with profound cultivation and high power, he was also anguished in searching for the origins of Buddhism. After all, it is the law taught by humans, difficult to completely transcend race.
And Master Xiong’s reply, Buddha has no fixed result, Buddha has no fixed appearance, Buddha has no fixed expression. Our Buddha is Buddha, no need for confusion.
His answer is also easy to understand. But what is crucially reflected is the attitude of the Buddhism strong figures of the Demon Clan towards Buddhism.
The Demon Clan also cultivates Buddhism, but only cultivates their own Buddhism.
Here, "Buddha" shares the same nature with "Dao", it is a broad "Dao", and also a specific "Law". But it is entirely independent of the present worldly Buddhism, unrelated to the monks of the Human Race.
The book contains a treasury of knowledge, the book also contains history and answers.
The gradual confirmation of the contents of this "Collection of the Wisdom of Divine Wisdom Fruit" indicates the time when the World Honored One came to Monster Realm, was certainly before Ancient Times.
Secondly, after Jiang Wang translated this segment, the speculation arose—
The Buddhism transmitted in Monster Realm, might have been a legacy left proactively by the World Honored One, rather than the later imitation and absorption by the Demon Clan. Because Master Xiong obviously grasped the true meaning of Buddhism, captured that "Buddha" character, although he cultivates his own Demon Clan’s Buddhism, it does not veer from the core of Buddhism.
Between the Human Race and Demon Clan, there are quite a lot of mutual learning and integration.
For example, the Demon Clan also has Soldier Home, Legalists, Confucianists.
But according to Jiang Wang’s observation during this time in Demon Clan cities, these doctrines in the Demon Clan are all more or less deviated; their root originates from the "Demon" character, after which they absorb Soldier and Confucian philosophies.
Yet uniquely, the Buddhism of Monster Realm, originates from the "Buddha" character, which subsequently approaches the "Demon" character.
The second speculation Jiang Wang developed—
The Buddhism transmitted by the World Honored One in Monster Realm might have completely discarded the "Human" character of Buddhism. In other words, what the World Honored One transmitted in Monster Realm was purely Dao, entirely transcending race, beyond the identity of Human Race or Demon Clan.
Perhaps this is precisely the fundamental reason why Buddhism developed so rapidly in Monster Realm, far surpassing other teachings transmitted from the Human Race.
Perhaps... this is also a way to confront the Heavenly Will of Demon Clan?
To preach in this world, is of great merit and virtue.
Dissolve hostility, naturally, there is no need for confrontation.
