Sora and Brie were just getting ready to stand up and teleport to their mansion when Eris and Pride arrived. They were confused why the two came to meet them and taken aback how Pride and Eris were holding hands, although they didn’t mind. They recently had a conversation about how close those two were and agreed Eris and Pride were a couple.
"It is done," Pride said with a smile.
"So that’s why I got a massive powerup. Crazy. Thank you."
"Did anyone stand out? I know we have some new fighters or were you both only in the area with Selene and Fenrir?"
"With Fenrir and Selene, Xander led one team, Diana the other," Eris said, taking Brie’s hand while transferring Selene’s power. "For you."
Brie smiled and loved the sensation of the power from someone’s lifeforce transfer. Selene was incredibly powerful and she raised an eyebrow as Pride was doing the same for Sora.
"Hey Pride, something about you seems different, you look really happy and relaxed, not your typical formal demeanor and I don’t understand why you’d give Sora Fenrir’s power when he gains power from the party gaining experience."
"Eris you look like you have your goddess glow illuminating. What’s really going on today?" Sora said with a large smile.
"We are sorry for deceiving you, but Eris and I have been together romantically for over 10,000 years." Pride said with a slight frown.
"No way! Why are you sorry? Turn that frown upside down mister!" Brie smiled.
"That’s amazing. Athena is playing chess and everyone else is playing checkers. What about the sins though? Why were you linked with them?" She asked.
"I was linked with them because I created a bond between us and Helen made Azazel and everyone believed we were created at the same time. It was quite funny all the power Azazel gave me, not realizing he was buffing a god." Pride smiled.
"You are a very intelligent young goddess and I understand why Athena allowed you to take the trial of the gods,"
"Wait, I thought anyone could take it?" Brie asked.
"I got that impression too." Sora added. "Isn’t that what the statue is for?"
Eris and Pride both smiled.
"Anyone is allowed to visit the statue, touch it to nominate themselves for the trial. Whether Athena allows that person to even enter Paradise is the first step. Then there’s the decision of introducing herself and kindly denying the trial. She can also deny someone and ask them to return when the person feels he or she is more ready. Then there’s people who take it and don’t pass and die. You’re a very special person Brianna Lockheart." Eris said with a hug.
"I don’t want to say it outloud, but I think I know why you’re here!" Brie gushed, her bubbly charm caused a large smile to form across everyone’s face and she was moving her feet up and down quickly with excitement.
She whispered into Eris’ ear, "You’re pregnant aren’t you? I could sense it when I hugged you. My elven magic started reacting and was drawn to your little ones."
Eris lightly gasped in surprise. "You can sense them?" She whispered very quietly back.
Sora and Pride were watching the two talk, both relaxed and speaking, giving the women their space.
"Man, I thought I had it all figured out and you had to go and one up me like that. You didn’t hold back during our fight did you?" Sora laughed.
"No, I did not. You are very strong Sora and very impressive, unlike when you first arrived. Sorry I was so harsh but I did mean what I said when if I wanted you dead, you would have been dead. Azazel thought he created the sins but he didn’t. Helen created the others, I am actually a creation of Athena herself. I guess we are cousins in a way." Pride smiled, patting Sora on the shoulder.
"So what’s this big news?" Sora asked excitedly.
"Eris is having triplets, we are quite ecstatic. We had to spend so much time apart and deceive everyone. I still feel terrible for what I did to Leila."
"Weren’t you just the one saying how gods and goddesses had to act as such and make difficult decisions, even if it wasn’t always the right thing to do," Sora said with a playful nudge.
"Yes, I had to play my role. But it doesn’t mean I don’t have emotions, and she is a dragonness, not some common person with a bad soul. I’m glad her race will be revived. You know..." Pride started trailing off, noticing how happy Brie and Eris looked.
Sora and Pride both stopped talking and enjoyed watching Brie and Eris hug and enthusiastically talk between the two, so they decided to join in and listen.
"Ok, so pregnancy sucks! But the good news is we’re goddesses so it’s only 3 months. If you’re having 3 oh my. Twins were something else! The trick is to..."
"Ok Brie! I appreciate it," Eris smiled and laughed. "I do want to experience some of it myself, ya know?"
Brie giggled. "I’m sorry! I was just so lonely as a woman in Paradise. No offense Sora, you were absolutely wonderful and so was Xander. It’s going to be so exciting watching another goddess give birth."
"Will you please allow Xander and Diana to help with the birth? I also would like you and Sora to be there. Sora, if you need to link to Eris... please do." Pride asked nervously.
"Why are you so nervous sweetheart?" Eris blushed. It was the first time any of them saw her look so vulnerable.
"I just want to ensure your safety and if they’re metallic, like we talked about. I don’t see how that could be pleasant at all and Sora’s pain threshold is probably unmatched."
’Woah, that’s a big compliment.’ Sora thought.
"Yes, we will all be there. Would you like Faye and Aegir there as well? I know they’re not usually at the mansion but the elven capsules they gave me helped so much. Don’t be stubborn, Eris, accept the treatment." Brie said sternly.
"Yes, Celeste as well." Pride said calmly.
"There you are!" Xander said as he and Diana walked through a portal.
"Woah! Eris, congratulations!" Diana said, then quickly covered her mouth.
Xander laughed. "See, I told you it wasn’t easy having this ability!"
