Chapter 953: Chapter 953: Can She Kill Me?
"Oh, Katari says we can come," Claudia said, adding an innocent giggle at the end.
"Katari?" Said the Primordial Tortoise, he looked at this little child-like entity that was flying away with many thoughts flashing through his mind.
"Yes, Katari, the High Killer," Claudia added, further confusing the Primordial Tortoise. Who was this Katari, where did she say they could come to?
"What did she do to become the High Killer?" The Primordial Tortoise asked.
Hearing this question, Claudia burst into a fit of laughter and slowed down, allowing the Primordial Tortoise to catch up.
The latter raised his eyebrows but did not know what was funny about what he said.
For someone who had been alive for a very long time and was usually considered temperamental, he sure knew how to be patient.
How could he not...
"Oh, Mr Tortoise," Claudia almost choked in her own voice, "You cannot do anything to be the High Killer, to be the High Killer, you must BE the High Killer..."
"..."
"..."
"..."
"..."
A few seconds of silence went unbroken between the large humanoid and the little girl.
Claudia’s smile was frozen.
"Did that make sense to you?" The Primordial Tortoise could not hold it any longer and asked as he looked at Claudia’s face.
Claudia sighed, "It sounded very cool in my head," She admitted, "But you should get the point I’m trying to make right?" She asked.
The Primordial Tortoise shook his head, "Not really, I’m still lost."
Claudia sighed again, "You see, Katari is the Consort of the All-King, and also one of his avatars.
But long before all that, she was known as the High Killer because of how efficient she was at...killing."
"How efficient could someone truly be to deserve that name? Are you saying no one has challenged her?" The Primordial Tortoise said with ignorance.
Claudia burst into another fit of laughter, this time louder than before. She held her belly and flipped over and over again in the air.
The Primordial Tortoise kept a stoic expression. To him, he had asked a normal question. He wasn’t even trying to be funny.
"Who in their right senses would challenge Katari? That’s the holy mother of all suicide missions, my goodness!" Claudia exclaimed.
"Didn’t I just say that she is the High Killer. She does not have that reputation for nothing.
We literally live in a universe where everyone has to kill something. She belongs to the lion race where everyone there is a cold-hearted murderer as soon as they can fight.
Across the heavens and surpassing all mortals in existence, she alone is the High Killer.
When she wants to kill something, that thing will die, one way or the other. It has to, or she would not rest."
The Primordial Tortoise listened to what could only be considered praise for a killer and sank into his own thoughts.
He kept the name in his mind. Katari.
"Can she kill me?" The Primordial Tortoise suddenly asked as he wore a playful smile on his face.
This time, the question was meant to be provocative.
Claudia paused and looked at the Primordial Tortoise as if she were looking at a big clown.
"Do you think you are unkillable because you’re a Supreme Level Immortal?" Claudia asked, her face now serious.
Of course, she knew that this person was a Supreme Level Immortal after she met him. It wasn’t like he hid the aura that well.
She also wasn’t scared though. Her master was far scarier than any Supreme Level Immortal she knew.
"No, that’s not it," He said and shook his head, "But do you know that I am a Primordial?"
"Yes," Claudia nodded her head.
"And do you know that I am a Singularity?" The Primordial Tortoise asked.
This time, Claudia did not answer. She looked at the Primordial Tortoise with disbelief.
Seeing her face, the Primordial Tortoise chuckled. It had been so long since he enjoyed this feeling. Way too long.
"And do you know what Law I am affiliated to?" The Primordial Tortoise asked again, his smile getting wider.
"..." Claudia shook her head, but her silence implied that she wanted to know and was waiting for him to speak.
"The Law of The Undying..." the Primordial Tortoise declared.
"..."
Claudia didn’t know what to say.
"Do you still think the High Killer can kill me?" He asked.
He really wanted to know.
It mattered a lot to him that there was someone he could truly run to when he was tired of living.
Claudia did not get to answer that question however as she was interrupted by a female voice before she got the chance to speak again.
"There’s only one way to find out," Someone said from the right with a clear voice.
The Primordial Tortoise and Claudia snapped their heads to the side and Claudia’s eyes widened.
"Your Highness," She muttered and bowed her head slightly. She might not be required to obey anyone other than the All-King but she was smart enough to know that respect was due when it came to some people.
Some people like her.
"Greetings, Katari..." Claudia bowed her head and greeted.
Meanwhile The Primordial Tortoise was lost in his thoughts as he looked at this person who had seemingly appeared out of nowhere.
Katari, as Claudia had referred to her.
Tall, long straight black hair, smallish eyes that were incredibly firm and sharp. Her skin was very clear and spotless. She wore a simple blue dress.
Her hands were placed beside her body and her shoulders were relaxed. She floated in the air with the silver yellow background of the Howl Heaven behind her.
"Hmm..." Katari hummed as she tilted her head slightly to the side.
She observed the large man beside Claudia.
"Claudia...this is..." Claudia started.
"I know who he is," Katari immediately cut her off with words that were casual yet extremely heavy.
The Primordial Tortoise could now see why Claudia had spoken of Katari in that manner earlier.
He too had many years of experience and he knew predators when he saw one.
This woman standing in front of him, this was a predator amongst predators.
And he could also guess based on how she was looking at him that she was genuinely thinking of how to kill him.
