Chapter 955: Chapter 955: Royal Heaven
Royal Heaven.
The Dimensional System Portal opened up at the center of the vast golden sky.
After stabilizing itself in the golden void, a figure flew out of it. It was the Primordial Tortoise, the Undying.
Soon after he came through the Dimensional System Portal, another figure followed behind him. It was Katari.
Katari kept her eyes on the back of Undying as she kept her hand by her side and flew forward at a steady pace.
Now that both of them were in Royal Heaven, she still did not relax. In fact, she grew more tense.
The power within Royal Heaven was concentrated, but it was also here that the heart of the Hegemony was. A single slip-up, a single uncalculated entry, a single fatal strike and it would all end.
It was the price of having a single person as their anchor as that single person was now their single point of failure.
It also helped that the same person was very strong and could not be killed so easily.
At least, that was how it had always seemed.
Meanwhile, Undying, the Primordial Tortoise, was observing his new surroundings.
Firstly, his mind was going back to the feeling of passing through the Dimensional System Portal. It was the second time he had passed through one, and he had to say that it was a very smooth experience.
For someone like him, he was not short of such experiences. But the feeling of passing through the Dimensional System Portal was so smooth, unlike passing through a heavenly gate.
It felt like he was being caressed by the void before being pushed out of a womb. Very satisfying.
Secondly, he was taking in the magnificent sight before him.
*ZOOM!*
A large shuttle, silver with green stripes, flashed from above, flying into the distance.
It caused Undying to look up. That was just one of the many shuttles flying around here.
One of the many.
Because, just from a casual glance, Undying could see that at least more than two hundred thousand shuttles were flying around this vicinity.
This golden void was not empty at all.
The shuttles were available in various designs, models, and crests. All of them have the faint aura of a lion coming from within.
There was no mistake, Undying had walked into the literal lion’s den.
Besides the scattered host of shuttles that met his eye, Undying was also astounded by the surprisingly thick concentration of Conquering Essence in the environment.
As a Primordial, he could naturally sense the other Law essence of other Laws. He already knew beforehand that the Primordial Lion and the Lions were affiliated with the Law of Conquering so this was not a surprise for him.
What was a surprise was the sheer concentration of it all. It almost felt like he was being suffocated even though he didn’t need to breathe.
Undying felt thousands of gazes fall on his body, none of the lookers could be seen, but he felt the gaze and knew that they were there.
"This is..." Undying was saying.
"Save your words for the All-King, he wants to meet you now," Katari cut him off as she flew ahead, beckoning for him to follow.
Undying did not say anything, acknowledging that Katari was naturally rude.
She just couldn’t be bothered to care about the opinions of others. What did it matter to her if they thought she was rude or kind? She would never know as she never cared in the first place.
"Hmm," As Undying flew forward with intent, he thought about what he had actually come to Royal Heaven to do.
Soon enough, something appeared in front of him. Something magnificent and truly breathtaking in every way.
A pyramid so large that it was mind-boggling. So large that it filled the heart with a true sense of awe at the scale.
The size alone wasn’t the most fascinating aspect of this heavenly mega structure, it was the aura coming from every inch on the surface of the pyramid.
There were colors that Undying had not seen for a long time, colors that most mortals could never comprehend. Yet they were plastered on the metal surfaces of the large Pyramid as though they were a regular paint job.
At the foundation of this immensely dominating pyramid was a continent that was simply too large to exist.
Undying narrowed his eyes, hiding the amazement he felt.
The continent was so wide that there was no scale to describe it.
"The Apex Pyramid and the continent have been continuously evolving, upgrading, and changing based on the power of the All-King.
Do well to be very careful when you step on the ground, because you are literally walking into the All-King’s mouth," Katari gave a light warning before she suddenly disappeared, dashing down to the ground.
None of the shuttles that were orbiting around the Apex Pyramid touched her.
Undying reacted fast, following after her steadily without hesitation.
Soon, Katari’s feet stopped a few meters before she hit the ground. Undying on the other hand hit the ground directly.
He felt what Katari was talking about now. It literally felt like he was standing at the entrance of an open maw even though the sky was wide open.
Katari was already floating away. She would have teleported into the Pyramid a long time ago but she had to take the Undying step by step.
After all, he did not have the same access that all of them had.
The metal walls slide away, revealing the long hallway.
That was how Undying and Katari entered, weaving and navigating through the seemingly endless corridors and halls of the Apex Pyramid.
To Undying, every wall, every metal, every ornament, and every piece of furniture they came across seemed to be alive, like a smaller part of a much larger organism.
Was the Apex Pyramid alive?
It would seem so.
After taking a few elevators straight to the throne level, they arrived at the highest point of the Apex Pyramid.
Throughout the journey, Katari had not said anything, and she just led him. This wasn’t a tour.
Stepping out of the elevators after the glass doors slid away, Undying finally got to witness the image of the person he wanted to see.
And what he saw left him so dumbfounded and lost.
