Reincarnated Femboy Vampire, with Max Survivability Stats
Chapter 49: Strange QuestionsNyquella and Yuki continued their tour of the mansion. He casually showed her every single modification he had made to the estate. To Yuki, it was just basic housing, but to her, it was a display of technology and luxury that only a High Researcher could dream of possessing. Even back when she was an active researcher for her race, she hadn’t owned nearly as much high-tier equipment as he did.
"And that’s everything! What do you think?" Yuki asked, his long tail wagging in sheer excitement.
"How on earth did you afford all of this? How did you even get your hands on this stuff?" Nyquella asked, bewildered.
"My system shop."
"Your what?"
"System shop."
Nyquella stared at him blankly. "I have never heard of an ability like that before."
"I got it when I came to this world."
"When you came to this world?" Nyquella’s eyes widened as pieces started connecting in her head. "Is that why you smell like that? Are you a Demon King candidate?!"
"Yeah. Can you guys really smell it on me?" Yuki sighed, rubbing his neck. "I thought Malakai was just being dramatic or messing with me."
"Now that I think about it, your clone did say you were a Demon King candidate... Ah, never mind that."
"... Where is your army?"
"My what?"
"Your men! Are you just entirely alone? Do you not actually want to be the Demon King?" Nyquella asked, her brain thoroughly scrambling itself.
"Oh, heavens no. That is absolutely not for me."
"So that’s the reason why you waste your resources on all this stuff," she said, scanning the lavish room.
"Yep. I can just buy them with store points whenever I need them."
"Every single time?"
"Well... yes," Yuki said, suddenly sweating bullets under her intense glare.
"... Why on earth would you do that? Isn’t that incredibly expensive?"
"Hey, I like to be comfortable, okay?!" Yuki huffed, crossing his arms defensively. "So, no judgment, or you’re sleeping on the hard ground tonight."
"What? You can’t threaten me!"
"I just did. It’s my house, so I make the rules."
Nyquella stared at the pouting Yuki, completely exasperated. She sucked her teeth loudly. "Brat."
"What did you just call me?!"
"You heard me. I’m going to bathe," Nyquella declared, turning on her heel and walking away.
As she made her way down the hall, she passed a room that Yuki hadn’t shown her earlier—one he had briefly dismissed as his "expert workshop." She froze in her tracks, her nose instantly picking up a foul, putrid scent bleeding through the cracks of the door.
Curiosity getting the better of her, she walked over and pushed the door open. "You make potions?"
"No, not really. Just a bunch of specialized antibiotics for poisons and toxins," Yuki explained, popping his head out. "A lot of the plants in this underground dungeon can straight-up kill you. When I found a book detailing the cures, I decided it was best to brew some. Honestly, you’d be surprised by how many monsters down here are infected with the Black Rot."
"What’s that?"
"It’s a nasty disease that shows up and completely covers your body in dark, black scales. It’s highly infectious and spreads rapidly by ingesting contaminated meat. So, just be careful out there."
"Oh..." Nyquella swallowed hard, a sudden wave of panic washing over her. "Well, I’m going to go clean up. I’ll see you when I’m done."
"Okay, have fun! Call me if you need anything," Yuki said, smiling blissfully. He waved goodbye as he headed down into the basement to craft some new clothes for her.
The exact moment Yuki vanished from sight, Nyquella sprinted into the bathroom and slammed the door shut, locking it securely behind her.
"Shit, shit, shit... crap, no, no, no," she muttered frantically, pacing around the room in tight circles.
She quickly unzipped her white dress, tossing the fabric aside, and walked over to the full-length mirror positioned in the corner of the room.
"It’s not that bad... okay, it’s very bad," she cried out softly, her heart sinking as she stared at her reflection.
Her entire back and most of her stomach were heavily coated in patches of thick, black scales. She had the exact disease Yuki had just described: the Black Root.
"Crap, this is really not good. I should never have eaten that weird lizard," she screeched under her breath, aggressively ruffling her hair in frustration. "It’s fine. I’m not dead yet. It just severely affects my mana regeneration rate, but I’m safe here with Yuki. He’s a good fighter, so I’ll be fine for now."
Huu—Click.
At the sudden sound of the door unlocking, Nyquella’s head snapped around in pure, unadulterated shock.
Yuki used his master key to stroll right into the room...
"Nyquella, I bought you some extra supplies!" Yuki announced cheerily, stepping right into the room. He placed down a bottle of high-quality lavender soap and a large, plush cotton bath towel on the counter. "Okay, bye!" he added, exiting just as fast as he had entered.
"Huuu..." she exhaled deeply, clutching her bare chest in relief. She had been so incredibly startled that she had completely forgotten to cover her body. That was way too close.
Shaking off the scare, she stepped into the shower. Using the premium lavender soap, she began to thoroughly wash her body and hair. The sensation of warm, pressurized water hitting her skin caused her tense muscles to instantly relax. It had been weeks since she had enjoyed proper food or a chance to bathe without constantly worrying about rogue knights trying to slaughter her.
After washing off the grime, she plugged the tub and drew a deep bubble bath, mixing in the scented soap and sweet oils Yuki kept stocked in the cabinets.
"Ahh... now this is life," Nyquella sighed, sinking deep into the hot water and letting her immense fatigue soak away. "Yuki really knows how to live it up. This place is the absolute best... Though, I wonder if he and Vee are actually together, or if that was just something the clones made up? Tsk, I still can’t believe I was saved by a damn clone while everyone else turned out to be fake."
After what felt like an hour of pure relaxation, a soft knock echoed at the door. "Nyquella?"
"Hm?"
"Food is ready, and I finished making those new clothes for you."
"Oh! Thanks."
"No problem."
Yuki walked into the room, respectfully keeping his gaze averted as he set down a fresh outfit alongside a steaming plate of seasoned vegetables and roasted meat right next to the tub. As he turned around to leave, Nyquella called out to him.
"Yuki."
"Yes?"
"Can I ask you something personal?"
"Yeah, sure. Ask away."
"...Um... can I officially join your group?"
Yuki paused, thinking it over. "...I can’t really answer that question right at this exact moment. Malakai explicitly told me to take care of you and keep you alive until he gets back. So, until he officially gives the green light, I can’t say much."
"Oh..."
"But if he says yes, then you’re more than welcome to join," Yuki added with a reassuring smile. "Just know ahead of time that I have a sentient system interface with a deeply annoying personality. It constantly claims it doesn’t have one, but it definitely does, and it’s mean."
Nyquella giggled quietly. "Well, that’s good to know. Um... Yuki, are you and Vee a thing? Like... are you two in a relationship?"
"...Well... ummm..." Yuki stared up at the ceiling, his brain visibly working through the logistics. "I don’t know. Technically, she is my familiar, so on paper, the relationship is master and servant. But that doesn’t really fit us at all. I don’t look at her as my property, and I genuinely love her. We’ve done a lot of things together, and she’s been right by my side since day one. Plus, we’ve had sex, so... yeah, I would say I’m her boyfriend. That sounds about right."
"That’s really lovely for the two of you," Nyquella said, smiling warmly. Then, her brain caught up to his words. She froze. "Wait... Huh? Did you just say boyfriend?!"
"Yep."
"...Y-y-you’re a guy? Like... you actually have a dick?"
"...Yes," Yuki replied, thoroughly confused by her sudden shock.
"But—but your hips are so thick! And your waist is perfectly round and soft... it’s almost as big as mine!"
Yuki’s eyes twitched. He walked right back over to the edge of the tub and leaned in close, his face clouding over. "Now, what exactly are you trying to imply here? Are you calling me fat?"
"No, no!" she squeaked, waving her wet hands frantically in the air. "I’m just incredibly surprised that a guy could be so small and... well, feminine! You literally look like a beautiful woman and a guy mixed into one package!"
Yuki blinked, processing this. "Is that supposed to be a compliment?"
"... Yeah."
"Heh, why thank you," Yuki said, instantly switching back to a smug grin as he flipped his hair. "It’s all part of my natural seductive skills."
Yuki froze. "Wait a minute, didn’t you say that you had the same conversation with my clone about this? How bad is your memory?"
"Doesn’t matter," Nyquella said dismissively.
"... Sooo... how big are you down there?"
"Huh?"
"You know," Nyquella pressed, leaning forward with genuine academic curiosity. "Elves and similar races with pointy ears... usually, when their men have a body type as soft and feminine as yours, they tend to be quite small."
Yuki stepped back violently, his face completely contorting in absolute disbelief and embarrassment. "...I am absolutely not telling you how big my dick is! Who the hell even asks that type of question?!"
