A calm wave splashed up onto the rock where Yuki was sitting.

"What a beautiful morning," Yuki said softly, gazing out at the sea.

The rising sun cast a vibrant array of orange and red across the horizon. Testing his newly restored capabilities, Yuki had decided to swim out as far as he could to see how much his stamina had changed. Unfortunately, his raw endurance hadn’t increased by much—but his recovery speed had improved drastically.

He sat on the protruding stone, thinking back on his life. A lot of things were about to change now that his mind was finally put back together.

"A lot of things in this world don’t make sense, but it is what it is," he muttered with a casual shrug.

Behind him, the air shivered and warped, announcing the arrival of an Administrator. A familiar silhouette popped into existence before stepping onto the rock behind him.

"Hello again, Administrator. How have things been for you?" Yuki asked, leaning back with a relaxed smile.

"I’m fine," she replied, folding her arms. "I came here to thank you for your work with Nyquella. I’m still completely screwed in the war, but... never mind that. Thanks."

"Yeah, no problem. I’ll do my best to help you out," Yuki said calmly.

"..." Nuvellia paused, stepping closer. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah?"

"Are you sure?" she asked skeptically. "Why are you so calm? Aren’t you going to ask me a whole lot of questions?"

"Can I?" he asked, flopping flat onto the rock.

"Sure, why not?"

"Do you ever plan to show your real body, or are you just going to stick to the Administrator silhouette?"

"..." Nuvellia knelt down over Yuki and rested her palm against his forehead. "I’m sorry, I didn’t hear a word you just said. Are you sick? Why are you so... different?"

"The High Administrator came and fixed my brain," he said casually.

"He did?" Nuvellia asked, her voice brightening with excitement. "What did he say?"

"A lot. But the most important thing he told me was not to date any Goddess, Administrator, or high-ranking divine entity. He specifically said not to fall in love or have sex with you. He also told me your name, and it was actually a word I could understand—so I’m guessing the rule about mortals not being able to hear your real name isn’t a hundred percent true."

"Tch! Who does he think I am?" Nuvellia huffed, crossing her arms. "I’m not going to fall for a mere mortal. I’ve been lonely for a very long time, but I am not that desperate. Besides, I’m not even your type."

"So I’m guessing that means your silhouette is fake?"

"Yes, it is... But it’s so strange. I can’t read your mind anymore, and you’re suddenly acting normal. Is that why you decided to wear that?" she asked, thoroughly baffled as she gestured at Yuki’s choice of clothing. "Did you finally decide to embrace the fact that you’re a femboy?"

"A little," Yuki chuckled. "I like wearing oversized clothes and soft aesthetic styles. I don’t really like wearing crop tops or skirts, but I’ll wear dresses and gowns."

"And those mini-shorts that might as well be underwear," Nuvellia added, shaking her head. "Why are you even out this far in the ocean on a rock this early in the morning anyway?"

"I was testing my stamina by swimming."

"In that?"

"Uh-huh."

Nuvellia stared down into Yuki’s bright emerald eyes, realizing that even with a fixed brain, he was still an absolute idiot. Because who in their right mind goes swimming in an ornate white sweater dress lined with intricate gold filigree? The soft knit folded over his chest to expose his shoulders, with long, slouched sleeves hanging loosely from his arms while the hem cut daringly high along his thighs.

"It’s actually quite comfortable," Yuki offered proudly.

"..." Nuvellia let out a heavy sigh. "I—never mind. You do you. But listen: I’m going to show you my real form now. If you so much as laugh, I will teleport you into the middle of the largest desert."

"The Sahara or Antarctica?"

"..."

"Technically Antarctica is a polar desert—"

"Sigh... I want the old you back," she groaned, thoroughly disappointed.

Her dark silhouette began to glow with a vibrant, glitching white light before fading away to reveal her true form.

Standing before him was a figure that looked far more like a celestial stuffed toy than a terrifying divine authority. She couldn’t have been more than four-foot-eight, framed by a halo of impossibly soft, cloud-white curls and a pair of flopped, velvety sheep ears. Curling gracefully from her scalp was a set of polished black horns, contrasting sharply with the pale, icy-blue eyes that glared down at him with an impressive amount of judgment.

She wore a form-fitting, sleeveless white Qipao dress lined with elegant gold embroidery, draped beneath a plush, oversized fur coat that practically engulfed her tiny frame. Beneath the dress, dark shorts hugged her hips, tucked into high thigh-socks that highlighted her soft, petite proportions.

"So... what do you think?" she asked quietly.

"..."

"..."

"..."

"...Come on, say something! Please, you’re making me feel like garbage!"

"Why did you ever choose to hide your true form?" Yuki asked softly. "You’re cute and beautiful. A little sheep-woman with your personality would have gotten way more followers looking like this."

"Really?"

"Yeah. Most people don’t care how badly they’re treated if the person being mean to them is attractive. As long as you praise them when they do a good job, they’ll just view your ’hate’ as tough love."

"Huh... Well, that would’ve been nice to know before I got stuck with you."

"That’s one way to say you forced me to become your apostle."

"Hey! I didn’t force you," she huffed defensively, placing her hands on her hips. "You signed the papers!"

"True, I did do that..." Yuki paused, tapping his chin. "Say, Nuvellia, what are the limitations on how you gain energy from me? If it’s when I give people pleasure, does that mean I can pleasure you so you can gain Divine Essence that way?"

"...Huh?"

"I’m talking about cooking food and providing entertainment," Yuki clarified with a straight face.

"I... I don’t know! I’m going to go now. Take care!" Nuvellia squeaked.

She turned around and hurried off, her face burning with a sudden mix of guilt, embarrassment, and sheer panic before vanishing into thin air.
