The swordsman lunged forward, blade wreathed in crackling lightning, only for a wall of ice to rise from another mage's outstretched palm and shield him from a whipping tail strike. He wasn't just a swordsman, then.

Battle mage — channeling raw elemental force straight through the steel instead of casting it separately.

I hovered at a distance, watching the fight take shape.

Ten fighters. Each one radiated the kind of pressure I'd only felt from S-rank Seekers back home, although they were still weaker than Alexa and the rest of her group by a large margin, thanks to my guidance.

The wind-blade caster carved thin arcs through the air, each one aimed at the same weak point along the serpent's jaw.

It was obvious that they knew what they were doing.

The earth mage planted his feet and drove stone spears up from beneath the creature's belly, not to pierce the scales but to disrupt its footing, buying the others half-second windows.

The archer's arrows burned gold, each one detonating on impact in a small flare of condensed mana that scorched but never broke through.

I observed the entire group.

Although they coordinated well with one another, I couldn't help but judge their tactics. Compared to the Seekers, they were less disciplined and far less efficient. I wondered if the lack of Towers in this world was the reason for that.

The magic they used was also fairly basic. The only thing that seemed to put them on par with S-rank Seekers was the sheer amount of energy they could wield.

Not just that, but their powers were too predictable. Even an ordinary S-Rank seeker could easily beat them in a one-on-one fight.

I continued watching the fight.

The serpent shrugged off spell after spell, its scales flashing faintly each time an attack connected, like a shield absorbing the impact.

Judging from this, I concluded that this serpent was at least as strong as a boss from the twentieth floor or higher of the Tower.

That was saying something, considering that before me, the Seekers could barely make it past the 15th floor, even with hundreds of individuals and dozens of S-Ranks.

This boss monster had no environmental advantage like the ones they had in the Tower, yet its combat ability alone was formidable.

'Oh, this guy is trying something interesting.'

The magic swordsman broke from the group and closed the distance, lightning trailing off his blade in jagged threads. He struck low, aiming for a gap between two overlapping scales near the serpent's foreleg.

For a moment I thought it might land clean.

The serpent twisted with a speed that shouldn't have belonged to something its size, and its tail came around in a blur.

He barely got his blade up in time.

BANG!

The impact sent him skidding backward through the dirt, carving a trench twenty meters long before the earth mage's stone wall caught him.

"Again!" someone barked from the group — an older woman with silver hair bound in a tight braid, twin daggers in hand, giving off the sharpest presence of the ten. "Formation two! Don't let it reset its stance!"

The archer and the wind mage split to opposite flanks. The earth mage anchored the center. The swordsman pulled himself up, favoring one leg, lightning already rekindling along his forearm.

I could have helped. I probably should have, if I wanted any goodwill them.

But I stayed where I was, because I didn't want to kill steal .

The serpent's jaw snapped shut around empty air where the swordsman had been a heartbeat earlier, and the earth mage seized the opening.

Metal spears erupted from below at an angle no one had used yet, driving up through the softer scales along the underside of its jaw where the plating had never fully closed.

For the first time, one connected.

A crack spread across the scale like fault lines splitting rock, and dark fluid welled up from underneath . The serpent recoiled, its whole body convulsing, and the ten fighters closed the distance.

"There! It breaks!" the silver-haired woman called out, twin daggers flashing as she drove them into the same weakened point.

More cracks spread. The wind mage's blades found new wounds along the fracture lines.

The archer's arrows stopped scattering off harmlessly and started punching through, one after another, each impact widening the wound.

The anti-magic scales had a limit after all.

HISSSSSSSSS!

The serpent hissed and a blood red aura tore out of the creature's wound, thick as smoke. It didn't spread so much as it claimed the space around it.

The trees at the edge of the clearing — trees that had survived spells and stray impacts through the entire fight — browned and curled and dropped their leaves in the span of two breaths, dead before the aura even reached them directly.

Killing intent, undiluted.

The ten fighters moved on reflex, mana surging out from their skin in layered sheets, wrapping their bodies .

I didn't need the mana shield.

Refining the Monkey God cultivation method had made my original body too strong for such weak killing intent to even pose a threat.

Below me, the ten fighters held their ground, barely, mana shields straining under bloodlust so concentrated it had killed a forest without lifting a claw.

The serpent's wound began closing, and I could tell from there expression that they were thinking of running away.

"Do you need my help?"

My voice echoed through the battlefield, but instead of answering, they all stared at me with confused expressions.

Ah, right.

I had forgotten this wasn't a simulation. There was no system auto translating everything for me.

So I switched to the universal language that everyone could understand.

My mana erupted. I gripped my spear as dark lightning gathered around its tip, the energy twisting and condensing into a single point.

"Moonlight Dragon..." I pulled my shoulder back. "Shadow Lightning Thrust. Overload!"

The spear left my hand, and the rest was history. It struck the creature's skull, and the world turned white, then black.

When everything settled, the only thing that remained was a massive hole so deep that they couldn't see the bottom.

"A...A god?" one of the female mages uttered.
