Chapter 598: Chapter 598: You Dare Take Another Step

Annabelle Linton shook her head.

After a moment, Annabelle Linton finally felt a little better and went into the bathroom.

Leona Grant brought her a pair of underwear and some sanitary pads.

Worried that something might happen to her in there alone, he tried to follow her in, but Annabelle Linton refused.

Resigned, he used the spare key to open the door. The first thing he saw was Annabelle Linton in a white bathrobe, sitting on the edge of the tub. Her gaze was downcast, her body hunched over as she clutched her stomach in agony.

Her long hair hid her face. He couldn’t see her expression, but he could tell her complexion was deathly pale.

She was clearly in too much pain to even speak. No wonder she hadn’t made a sound earlier.

His gaze shifted downward. Blood was trickling down her pale legs...

The color drained from Leona Grant’s face, and he strode toward her.

Sensing someone approach, Annabelle Linton looked up. When she saw Leona Grant, a flash of humiliated fury crossed her eyes. Her face hardened as she commanded, "Get out!"

Seeing her in this state, still refusing his help, made Leona Grant’s face turn livid.

His expression grim, he moved to pick her up.

Annabelle Linton forced herself to stand, deftly sidestepping him. A glance at the blood on her leg made her want to crawl into a hole and die from the shame.

Leona Grant’s expression was glacial. He kept walking toward her, his voice sharp and unstoppable. "You take one more step back and see what happens!"

Annabelle Linton backed away until she was trapped in a corner. Seeing her own wretched state brought her to the verge of tears. She pleaded, "Please, just go outside. I’ll be done in a second..."

But Leona Grant ignored her completely, sweeping her up into his arms in one swift motion.
