Ethan watched as the man approached with a stoic expression, then smiled faintly at him.

"Hello, Brother-in-law."

Cole, Evelyn’s older brother, scowled at his greeting and eyed him suspiciously.

"What are you doing here? Where’s my sister?"

Ethan didn’t mind his attitude. After all, he was well aware that Cole was one of the people who genuinely cared about Evelyn.

"She’s back there, eating. You can come inside."

Cole’s eyes flashed with disbelief, and he looked at Ethan again. He had been wondering what the guy was doing here at the counter.

Was he actually... covering for her?

’If it’s really that simple, pigs might as well start flying.’

Still frowning, Cole entered the shop, then quickly spotted Evelyn and Nora.

The young lady’s eyes widened, and she smiled. "Big brother!"

"Uncle!"

Nora also ran up to him, hugging his legs.

Cole’s frown transformed into a smile, and he patted Nora’s head affectionately.

"Princess Nora, how’ve you been doing?"

The little girl looked at him with a smile and replied. "I’m fine!"

Cole nodded, then turned to his sister. "Evelyn, what’s with your husband covering up for you? How did you convince him?"

Hearing his question, Evelyn quietly sighed in relief. At least she hadn’t been the only one who thought it was strange.

"Well, I didn’t convince him actually. He... volunteered to cover for me while I ate," She explained, showing him the now-empty takeaway.

Cole’s eyes narrowed in confusion, and he glanced back outside. Ethan was already attending to new customers, and he wasn’t awkward at all.

’Strange...’

Sighing, Cole massaged his temples, then looked at Evelyn.

"You sure you don’t want to leave him? Our parents have been insisting that you divorce him, you know..."

Evelyn’s smile dimmed at his reminder, and she avoided his gaze.

"Even if I do... Nora won’t have a father anymore. And he... he’s been acting weird since yesterday."

Cole sighed, knowing those were not her main reasons for not wanting a divorce. She still loved Ethan—or at least the man she had once believed he could be.

"It’s alright. If anything happens with him, you can call me to deal with him. And if you need anything too, let me know."

Evelyn looked at him with clear gratitude in her eyes and nodded.

"Thank you, big brother."

Then, she smiled and asked, "How’s your business going?"

Cole let out a frustrated sigh. "I’m actually a bit tense right now. There’s this business proposal I have to submit, and I’m running out of time. However, I don’t have anything unique to put forward. That’s why I came to visit you guys. Maybe some fresh air will inspire me?"

"Oh, that’s serious," Evelyn frowned, then said. "Maybe you should take some time off and rest. That should refresh your brain."

Cole nodded with a smile, then stood up.

"I’ll go visit one of my friends in the area for now, but I’ll be back at your house in the evening."

Evelyn nodded and escorted him outside. Ethan glanced at them, then gave a polite nod to the man.

Cole snorted, but returned the nod as he made his way out of the market. When Evelyn returned from escorting him back to his car, she was surprised to find a small crowd in front of her stall. She quickly rushed over, fearing that something bad had happened.

Fortunately, it seemed nothing bad had happened in the stall.

It was just Ethan selling fruits to customers.

’Just... why are they so many?’

She walked up to him, staying silent as she watched.

A young woman looked at Ethan curiously and asked, "Hey, I heard you give out good suggestions. What kind of fruit smoothie do you think I should make?"

While Evelyn was confused, Ethan smoothly replied the woman.

"If you’re looking for something refreshing, try blending a mango, a banana, and an orange together. It’s naturally sweet, so you won’t need much added sugar."

Her eyes widened. "Really?"

"The mango gives it sweetness, the banana makes it creamy, and the orange keeps it refreshing," He answered, offering a reassuring smile.

"Alright, give me two mangoes, two bananas, and three oranges."

"Right away."

Ethan didn’t waste time packaging the fruits, and he quickly handed it to her. After paying, the woman walked away, and Ethan turned his attention to another customer.

"I want something healthy. I’ve been trying to take better care of myself."

He pointed toward a particular set of fruits that he had rearranged not long ago.

"Then try mango, orange, and grapes. Blend them together."

"What does that do?" She asked skeptically.

Ethan shrugged and answered, "They’re good sources of vitamins and antioxidants. Don’t expect miracles, though."

The woman’s eyes narrowed slightly before she nodded.

Soon, she also walked away with her purchase, while Ethan turned to another customer.

Evelyn watched all this in amazement, wondering what exactly was going on. How was he doing it?

Finally, after five minutes, the last customer walked away, leaving Ethan free. He turned around and noticed Evelyn standing there with confusion written all over her face.

"You’re wondering why I suddenly sold so many?"

She unconsciously nodded.

Ethan turned back to the display board, which now held less than half the fruit it had that morning.

"It’s because people love discovering new things, and they love suggestions."

He brought down a suggestion board he had hung in a corner where almost every customer would see it while waiting, and showed it to her. Evelyn quietly accepted it and read.

She blinked in surprise, then handed the board back to him.

"That’s..."

She didn’t know what to say. She felt happy that they were selling much faster today, but deep down she was scared. Why was he even doing this?

Was he really going to take all the money?

Ethan saw the conflicted look in her eyes but didn’t say anything. Instead, he wiped off the words on the suggestion board, surprising her.

"Why...?" She asked quietly.

Ethan picked up an orange fruit and tossed it to her.

"These aren’t selling properly. If we continue at this rate, they’ll be left behind and waste."

Evelyn nodded. "... It usually remains until the second day. Though, customers don’t usually like it."

"Glad you understand," He said, "So we need to make sure nothing is left over by the end of the day."

Evelyn blinked. "Eh?"
