Chapter 2012: Chapter 1827: Murder by Proxy (Part 2)

"Hmm."

Nie Wushuang nodded, her gaze fixed on Song Yun.

She hadn’t anticipated encountering the person from her dreams here, and at this moment, her heart was racing, unable to calm down.

Unconsciously, a smile appeared on her face.

Seeing this, Gude frowned slightly, feeling somewhat displeased.

He glared at Song Yun and snorted coldly, saying, "Open up the passage, let’s continue moving forward."

With the passage cleared, the group moved forward.

Nie Wushuang noticed two swords on the ground, picked them up, and carried them with her.

As they moved along, Nie Wushuang stayed close by the stretcher, constantly watching Song Yun who lay upon it.

She even used the water she brought to wash Song Yun’s face.

Witnessing her care toward Song Yun, Gude was angered to snorting, thinking to himself that if he had known, he would have killed this Asian with one slap.

The Demon Beast Core’s power continually repaired Song Yun’s body.

In fact, most of the energy was absorbed by him.

Unknowingly, he had reached the peak of SS level.

As he was dazed, he felt his body being jostled as if he were being carried.

He slowly opened his eyes, the first thing he saw was a cute and mischievous face.

Upon closer inspection, wasn’t the person before him Nie Wushuang?

This was a real coincidence; he had been rescued by Nie Wushuang.

"Ah! You’re awake!"

Seeing Song Yun open his eyes, Nie Wushuang exclaimed with joy.

Her excited demeanor caused the others to feel perplexed.

The two had never met before, so no matter how kind Nie Wushuang was, she shouldn’t be so thrilled.

Seeing Nie Wushuang’s excitement, Gude gritted his teeth in anger, wanting nothing more than to rush forward and kill Song Yun immediately.

Song Yun had just regained consciousness when he felt a murderous intent. He turned to see Gude glaring fiercely at him.

But since Gude didn’t act, he paid him no mind.

Then, the first thing that came to his mind were his Black Light Broken Sword and Throat Sealing Sword.

The Black Light Broken Sword was his weapon of choice.

The Throat Sealing Sword was passed on by his master.

Neither sword could be lost.

Just as he was worried, he saw both swords were strapped to Nie Wushuang’s waist. Instantly, he felt relieved.

Little did he expect that this girl really came seeking the Ice Crystal Holy Grail.

Moreover, seeing Nie Wushuang’s excitement, she clearly had recognized him.

However, he wasn’t sure if she mistook him for the person in her dreams or if she realized she had been deceived by him that night.

As Song Yun was pondering, Nie Wushuang looked at him and asked, "Are you okay?"

"I’m fine. Who are you?"

Song Yun pretended it was by chance, feigning ignorance.

"We are..."

Nie Wushuang was just about to reveal her identity but was pulled by Emily. She quickly wanted to cover it up, yet didn’t know what to say.

At this moment, Gude walked over and said to Song Yun, "We are explorers of the forest, having discovered a dry well, we came down to investigate."

Explorers, huh, you’re fooling ghosts.

Song Yun knew their background, and even if he didn’t, he wouldn’t believe such lies.

Nevertheless, he nodded, feigning seriousness and said, "Oh, I see, thank you for saving me."

Gude asked in a low voice, "Then why did you come down here?"

Song Yun mimicked Gude’s earlier words, "I was exploring the forest, discovered a dry well, and came down to investigate."

Upon hearing this, Gude’s mouth twitched, and a hint of annoyance appeared on his face.

He looked at the stone stretcher and said to Song Yun, "Now that your injuries are healed, you’d better leave here quickly. The path ahead is dangerous, and if you get hurt, it’ll be a terrible loss."

These words clearly meant to abandon Song Yun.

Song Yun didn’t get a chance to respond before Nie Wushuang objected, saying, "Gude, how can you say that? He’s injured now, we should protect him. If we let him go alone and he encounters danger, what will we do? I decide, we take him with us."

Gude frowned and said anxiously, "Miss Wushuang, this..."

"It’s decided then."

Nie Wushuang said, ignoring Gude, and turned to Song Yun, "How are you doing, is your injury getting any better?"

"My head is a bit dizzy, I’ll sleep for a while first."

Song Yun rubbed his head, lay back on the stretcher, and closed his eyes.

Seeing this, Gude angrily said, "Kid, what’s with your attitude? Miss Wushuang is talking to you!"

"Gude, he’s injured, why are you shouting?"

Nie Wushuang glared at Gude, then said to Song Yun, "Don’t mind Gude, he’s just like that. But he’s quite kind-hearted, often helps me, he’s a good person."

Helps you, haha, I’d bet he has ulterior motives.

Song Yun muttered to himself, not in the mood to talk with Nie Wushuang, as he had many thoughts to ponder in his mind.

He lay there calmly on the stretcher, with Nie Wushuang following beside, watching him with a smile and curiosity on her face.

Gude stood by, grinding his teeth in anger. What was so good about this kid that he could receive Miss Wushuang’s favor?

At this moment, Song Yun focused, contemplating his own matters.

"Although the bloodline of the Flood Snake is weak, it did have an inner core, proving it is indeed a demon beast. So, there really are demon beasts in this world."

"The Flood Snake living here must have been set loose by whoever built this place to block future intruders."

"What’s the deal with the inner core? After I absorbed it, not only did it heal my injuries, but it also helped me level up, reaching the peak of SS rank."

"If I keep consuming inner cores, wouldn’t leveling up be as fast as a rocket launch?"

"But where in the world would I find so many demon beasts? Moreover, even if there were, their bloodlines might be too thin to even have inner cores."

"Looks like I need to learn the Alchemy Skill; using elixirs to cultivate would certainly speed things up."

After pondering for a while, Song Yun returned from his thoughts.

He looked at Nie Wushuang beside him, smiled, and said, "Xiao’er..."

Before he could continue, Nie Wushuang exclaimed, "You...how do you know I’m called Xiao’er."

Song Yun wore a bewildered expression and said in surprise, "Uh, I don’t know why, but I have a feeling we’ve met somewhere. Just now, that name slipped out involuntarily."

Nie Wushuang was taken aback and muttered softly, "Could it be that we really met in a dream?!"

Emily heard Nie Wushuang’s words, pulled her aside, and asked in a low voice, "Xiao’er, do you know this guy?"

Nie Wushuang shook her head, "I don’t know him; I don’t even know his name."

Emily had a skeptical look, "Then how does he know you’re called Xiao’er?"

Nie Wushuang remained silent for a moment, then whispered in Emily’s ear, "Sister Emily, don’t tell anyone. I saw that person in a dream."

"What?"

Emily exclaimed, quickly covering her mouth, then asked in a low voice, "Xiao’er, are you serious?"

"Of course, I’m serious."

Nie Wushuang nodded emphatically.

Emily’s eyes sparkled, and she chuckled, "So, he’s your dream lover."

Nie Wushuang’s face turned red with shyness, "Don’t say nonsense; I just saw him in a dream, he’s not some dream lover."

"Let’s go, let’s talk to him and find out what he’s up to."

Emily pulled Nie Wushuang along, catching up with the stretcher carrying Song Yun, "I’m Emily, and she’s Nie Wushuang, what’s your name?"

Song Yun replied, "I’m Song Yun."

Emily asked again, "Which country are you from?"

Nie Wushuang hurriedly answered, "He’s from Huaxia."

"Right, I’m from Huaxia." Song Yun nodded.

Emily glanced at Nie Wushuang, "I didn’t ask you, why are you answering?"

Nie Wushuang stuck out her tongue and whispered in Emily’s ear, "In my dreams, he spoke Huaxian, so I knew he’s from Huaxia."

Seeing the three of them having a lively conversation, Gude was growing more and more frustrated.

He glanced at Song Yun, pondering how to get rid of this guy.

If not, this trip intending to pursue Nie Wushuang might end up benefiting this kid instead.

"Hmph, when we encounter the Desla Family or the Dark Holy See, we’ll dump this kid and see if he survives."

Gude thought viciously, unwilling to offend Nie Wushuang and Emily, hence he considered a plan for someone else to do the dirty work.

While others provoke jealousy, Song Yun was provoking the jealousy of wolves.
