At the garden in front of the house, a red carpet stretched between rows of chairs arranged on either side, leading to the stage at the front. A silken tent in shades of white, pink, and gold covered the garden, its translucent panels fluttering gently in the morning breeze. Lines of white columns stood at regular intervals along both sides of the carpet, each adorned with elegant floral decorations of plum blossoms and white roses, their petals releasing a soft, sweet fragrance into the air.
A few metres in front of the stage, the house was draped in golden lights, their gentle glow shimmering beneath the soft morning sunlight, casting warm reflections on the windows. A cozy breeze swayed through the garden, making the silken drapes dance gracefully beneath the clear blue sky, as if nature itself was celebrating the occasion. Tables with exquisite dishes and wines were placed on the other side of the chairs, their surfaces gleaming with polished silverware and crystal glasses, while light music played in the background from the speakers placed behind the stage, a melody of strings and soft flutes that filled the air with romance.
There were not many guests. Only those closer to the family were invited. From around the fifty people filling the chairs, Taranis only knew a very few of them, like Jay, Leena, Saya, Jasmine, and Reyaan, who had only just arrived, his distinguished presence adding a touch of formality to the gathering. The rest were friends of Aryan and close relatives of Aisha, their faces a mix of curiosity and warmth as they awaited the ceremony.
At the stage itself stood two people. One was Aryan, wearing a formal magenta suit, holding a diary in his hand, reading and mumbling something under his breath. His brow was furrowed in concentration, his fingers fidgeting with the pages. Somehow, he looked even more nervous than the groom, the other person standing on the stage in an elegant robe of an emperor, calm and composed.
"Bro, you will do just fine," Taranis chuckled, placing a hand on Aryan’s shoulder, reassuring him. "Do not be nervous."
If someone were to hear his words, they might think that Aryan was the one getting married.
"Fuck you, bastard, you only told me last night that you want me to officiate the marriage," Aryan snapped back, clearly annoyed, his voice carrying a hint of panic. "What if I mess up? You should have hired a priest or something."
"You can do it, bro," Taranis replied in a calm tone, reassuring him. "I have faith in you."
He decided not to argue with him and focus on the words he needed to say. Ruining a sacred marriage ritual of his younger brother by stuttering or saying wrong words was the least thing he wanted.
Once the time came, he announced, gathering the attention of everyone, his voice carrying across the garden with practiced authority, "Thank you, everyone, for taking time out of your busy schedules and becoming part of this sacred ceremony."
Surprisingly, the earlier nervousness on his face was completely gone. The words came out natural, his posture relaxed, his shoulders squared. The countless interviews and press conferences he had done over the years were surely coming in handy, lending him the confidence he needed.
Aryan looked toward Taranis, standing beside him, and continued, "Standing before us today is the groom, Raj Singh, who needs no introduction for himself. Even a child who has just learned how to speak knows him as the most powerful Awakener of the current era and the second most handsome man after me."
A ripple of laughter spread through the seated guests, the tension breaking into warm smiles. Siya, sitting at the front chair with Inayat in her arms, shook her head with a chuckle, her eyes glistening with amusement.
"But today, he is not an Awakener... but a man waiting to be eternally bonded with his soulmates."
Taranis smiled softly from his words, his eyes narrowing in delight. The warmth of the moment wrapped around him like a gentle embrace.
Aryan turned his gaze to the main wooden door of the house and continued, his voice rising with emotion, "And now, please rise, as we welcome the brides."
The guests slowly rose from their seats, their heads turning back towards the door that slowly opened.
Taranis’s breath hitched, his heart beating loudly as he looked at the doors with anticipation. The world seemed to slow down, every second stretching into eternity.
On either side of the brides were Celestia and Aisha. Celestia had most of her body covered beneath the neck length gown, since her skin was unnaturally dark with white patterns drawn all over it. Aisha wore a simple but elegant sage green dress, her face beaming with quiet pride.
At the middle itself stood the two brides. Nymeria wore an ethereal snow white gown, fitted tightly at the torso and flowing like a snowfall from her waist, tied by a silver belt that caught the light. The fabric shimmered with every step, as if woven from moonlight itself. In her wrists, she wore a pair of frost like bangles, their surface sparkling with tiny crystals. A matching necklace and earrings, crafted in the same frost like aesthetic, adorned her neck and ears, completing the snow goddess look.
The white veil covering her face, reaching all the way to her chest from her head, was completely failing in hiding her heavenly features behind it. Her heart shaped lips were beat red, her cheeks carrying a slight blush, her creamy eyes slightly lowered in elegance. In her hand placed on her stomach, she held a bouquet of white roses, their petals pure and untouched, while an elegant silver crown was placed on her head over the veil, a symbol of her regal grace.
Beside her stood Ume, looking equally stunning. Draped in an enchanting baby pink gown with net sleeves, cascading down like an early arrival of spring, she stopped the breath of many who laid eyes on her, including Taranis, who had yet to pull himself together from the enchantment Nymeria’s presence had cast upon him. The gown hugged her curves delicately, the net sleeves adding a touch of ethereal softness.
Just like Nymeria, her face was covered behind a translucent pink veil that had already given up on hiding her serene features. Her fluffy fox ears were resting gently on her head, with the veil carefully cut around them to keep them out, adding a touch of playfulness to her elegance. A couple of plum blossoms were pinned to her head, outside the veil, only adding further to her charms. In her hand, she held a bouquet of plum blossoms, their pink hue matching her gown, while her pink eyes were fixed on the ground in shyness, her cheeks flushed with a delicate rose.
The two brides gracefully moved forward, walking down the asle with faint smiles.
