After ripping off Celestia’s head, Doom looked at Taranis again, its face coiling into a terrifying demonic smirk.

Taranis clenched his fists by his sides. Although he knew that Celestia could be summoned again, her soul bound to him, the sheer audacity of Doom treating his subordinate like this greatly infuriated him.

The wings at his back fluttered once, jolting him forward at a blinding speed that it seemed as if he had just teleported. Within just a couple of seconds, he covered the distance of several hundred thousand kilometres, appearing only a few hundred metres away from Doom.

"Four Heavenly Buddha Palms: Final Form: Thousand-Hand Avalokitesvara!"

Taranis roared with a series of hand signs, the anger palpable on his face.

Behind him rose a colossal Buddha-like deity forged from blinding white energy. Seated in a lotus position amidst the vacuum of space, it bore a tranquil expression that contrasted sharply with the overwhelming pressure it radiated. Behind it unfolded countless luminous arms in a perfect circular array, each palm large enough to eclipse mountains, their surfaces gleaming with the light of a thousand suns.

Doom’s eye slightly narrowed from the mighty figure materialised before him. It moved its hands before its body, joining the wrists together, the claws directing at the deity as a sphere of purple energy began materialising before its palms, pulsing with unstable, destructive power. The sphere grew, swelling with malevolent light.

On the other side, from the successive hand signs of Taranis, the deity opened its eyes that shone like twin stars, brighter than the countless stars of the endless cosmos they stood in.

As soon as its eyes opened, the massive palms around its body shot forward at Doom like meteors of a broken star, each one trailing a comet of white light. The airless void offered no resistance as they hurtled toward their target.

Doom launched the violet sphere of suppressed energy in response.

As the palms struck the sphere, ripples of destructive energy spread outward in a cosmic collision. The impact was explosive enough to easily destroy planets, sending shockwaves through the fabric of space. The large and small asteroids that were caught in the aftermath were obliterated into oblivion, their fragments scattered across the void like dust.

Taranis took cover behind the deity to protect himself from the aftermath, while the deity itself continued launching a barrage of palms, each one the size of a mountain. The palms rained down like a storm of light.

Although Doom’s attack managed to destroy a few hundred palms, their numbers proved too overwhelming. Once they broke through the purple sphere, the relentless strikes directly fell upon Doom, each one exploding with blinding white radiation upon contact, throwing it millions of kilometres away.

Strangely, no matter the amount of distance between them, the palm strikes were still reaching it, without even giving it the chance to defend itself or release a counterattack.

In just less than an hour, when the final palm struck, Doom was thrown into the surface of a nearby planet, the impact leaving a massive crater of several kilometres wide, shaking the whole Red Planet of Mars. The surface of the planet groaned, dust and debris rising in a cloud that blotted out the stars.

Moments later, Taranis appeared in the sky above the surface where Doom had landed, staring down at it with his dual coloured comet like eyes.

Once the dust settled, Doom’s body was revealed, lying flat at the centre of the crater. Its broken limbs and half of its torso that were destroyed by the relentless palm strikes were already regenerating, with purple bubbles coiling across the surface of the wounds. At the corner of its lips, a liquid of deep purple was trickling down its chin.

"Oh, so you can bleed," Taranis said in an amused tone, his voice carrying a hint of satisfaction.

His words caused an immediate reaction from Doom, its jagged teeth chattering as it raised to its feet. For the first time, it looked truly furious.

"Do you think attacks of such level are enough to defeat me?" It shouted, hurtling upward into the sky, breaking the air barrier. The ground beneath it cracked from the force of its launch as it ascended with a speed that matched Taranis’s own.

It hurled a fist across Taranis’s guts, the impact sending shockwaves through his body, as it declared, its voice dripping with contempt, "I have already marked you as my prey. You can never kill me in this life."

In response, Taranis immediately pulled out Shinku No Sabi from his inventory, its blade already bleeding in a dual yin-yang aura, the two energies swirling around the edge like living serpents.

As the blade connected with the fist, the reality broke apart from the collision, sending ripples across the red surface of Mars, the very fabric of existence shuddering under the force of their clash. The ground beneath them cracked, fissures spreading like spiderwebs across the Martian soil.

In the very same moment, the blade broke into two.

Taranis’s eyes slightly widened as Doom’s fist struck him in his guts in an uppercut. Blood gushed out from his mouth, his back bending as he was thrown upward into the sky. The katana fell from his hand, its broken blade stabbing the ground beneath. The wings at his back expanded, regaining his balance, while Doom had already launched at him for another strike

This time, a compressed sphere of barely suppressed energy was formed in Doom’s hand as it hurled the punch at Taranis in a speed that Taranis could barely see, the attack almost instantaneous.

"Pure Yang Orb!"

Taranis formed his own miniature sun at his palm in response, a blazing sphere of concentrated yang energy. The two spheres struck each other, rippling an ear-deafening crackle of energy. Doom’s attack proved several times more powerful. It easily destroyed the yang orb, followed by Taranis’s arm that had launched it, the limb disintegrating into particles of light, before reaching his guts again where the star landed square. The impact was devastating, a supernova of pain that exploded through his body. The space behind Taranis shattered like glass, an unstable dimension of shooting stars and shifting galaxies appearing in which Taranis was thrown.

He firmly held Doom’s arm with his remaining arm, pulling him inside with him. The two tumbled through the unstable space of the Cosmic Corridor, their forms twisting and distorting as the chaotic energies of the dimension raged around them. Yet Taranis refused to let go of Doom’s arm, holding it firmly, his other arm already regenerating.
