Maximilian grabbed Arthur by the back of his collar and slammed him against the wall beside the door.

Just as he pivoted on his feet, Arthur grabbed his robe from behind. Blood spilled from his broken jaw, his breathing uneven, bruises covering his face.

"M-my Lord... wh-why..." he murmured, his voice barely above a whisper, moisture filling his eyes. "Why are you so kind to a pathetic fool like me?"

For only a brief moment, Maximilian’s brow twitched, his jaw tightening. After giving Arthur one last glance, the cold, unreadable expression returned to his face.

"Y-your Highness, if he has done something to offend you, you should have just said the word," Julian said as he slowly approached Maximilian, his face carrying a nervous smile. "I would have taken care of him for you. There was no need for you to dirty your hands."

’This psycho must have beaten him for trying to leave so disrespectfully,’ Julian murmured inwardly. ’Although he acts like a saint, he must have been enchanted by the beauties captured by Ignis. This is the chance to become closer to this psycho princ—’

His thoughts came to an abrupt halt as Maximilian formed a series of hand signs, his silhouette surrounded by ominous dark mana.

In a swift motion, the shadows beneath his feet spread throughout the entire hall, covering the walls and ceiling. Numerous magical circles etched with intricate patterns materialized across every surface.

"Y-your Highness?" Julian asked, confusion evident on his face. "Is it because you do not wish for any outsider to spy—"

Bam!

A fist crashed into Julian’s face, sending him flying several feet through the air. He landed before the other four dragon heirs, leaving them all shocked and confused.

"Ahhh!!"

He screamed as blood poured uncontrollably from his broken nose.

"Your Highness, why would you suddenly attack him?" Vincent demanded, his tone sharp.

"Why, you say..." Maximilian murmured, slowly walking toward them. "Isn’t it obvious? I am simply getting rid of the pests within my clan."

Before they could even react, Maximilian covered the distance between them in a split second, leaving a trail of black lightning in his wake.

One of his arms grew larger, expanding to several times the size of his body as he swung his razor-sharp claws at them.

A thunderous roar of lightning echoed, followed by the bodies of each dragon heir being hurled in different directions. They had managed to cloak themselves in Soulforce at the last moment, but the impact still sent them flying.

Ignis’s eyes widened as they fell upon the flames he had summoned around his body for protection. They were being devoured by the dark lightning left behind by Maximilian’s claws.

"D-don’t let the lightning touch your body!" he shouted, desperation clear in his voice. "It is Death Lightning. If it touches you, it will eat away at your lifespan."

The other dragons gasped in shock as they summoned even more Soulforce to shield themselves.

"Your Highness, stop this madness," Vincent shouted, freezing the lightning with his ice. He was the first to free himself, being the oldest and most experienced among them. "Or we will be forced to raise our hands to protect ourselves."

"Ha... haha... hahahahaha..." Maximilian’s wild laughter rumbled through the hall, his voice growing heavier, drifting further and further away from that of a human. "Playing with the lives of people like they are toys, keeping them imprisoned, and trading them in the name of friendship. And I am the mad one here."

The Death Lightning surrounding his body turned violent, thunder erupting throughout the vast hall as the sclera of his eyes turned black and two obsidian horns sprouted from his head.

"Stop him!" Ignis roared from the opposite side, crimson scales spreading across his skin as he began transforming.

"B-but he is the prince," Marcus said, somewhat hesitant.

"And he will kill all of us if we don’t attack first," Ignis countered, his jaw opening wide while his throat bulged outward, glowing with an amber light.

"Lord Ignis is right," Felix added, also transforming as pink scales spread across his body. "We need to survive if we are to receive punishment for killing the prince."

Marcus cast one last glance at Maximilian, who still stood in his demi-dragon form as though giving them a chance to put up their worthless struggle.

"Tch, I never liked that psycho in the first place," he muttered as auburn scales spread across his face from his chest and arms. "We need to get rid of him right here. He truly is the Bane of the Dragons, trying to kill all six heirs at once."

With that declaration, all five of them transformed into their elemental dragon forms, filling the entire hall.

Ignis was the first to attack, releasing a dragon breath of thick volcanic flames straight at Maximilian.

From the other side, Maximilian merely raised his hand as a beam of black lightning of equal intensity erupted from his arm, crashing into the incoming flames.

Crackle!

The lightning tore straight through the dragon breath, extinguishing the Heavenly Class flames in its path.

Before it could reach Ignis, the other four dragons unleashed their dragon breaths as well. A tsunami-like wave of water from Julian, massive pillars of rock from Marcus, wild serpent-like vines from Felix, and razor-sharp spears of ice from Vincent all collided with the incoming lightning at the center.

Boom!!

A deafening explosion echoed from the collision of five Heavenly Class Soulforce attacks against the Death Lightning unleashed from a single hand of Maximilian, filling the hall with a blinding light.

"H-how could th-this be possible?" Ignis murmured, falling onto his back.

The Death Lightning seeped into each dragon breath, spreading like spiderwebs through them before reaching the mouths from which they were being released.

"Ahhhhh!!!!"

Simultaneous screams of agony filled the hall as the lightning struck each of them directly through their mouths, ravaging their bodies from within.

"H-he is not even an adult dragon," Ignis muttered, the only one left conscious. His eyes remained fixed on the terrifying figure of Maximilian, who stared right back at him with his overwhelming golden eyes. "H-how could he overpower all of us so easily?"
