For the following month, Aren focused on the shooting for My Heiress, while simultaneously gathering information about his enemies’ current situation.

For example, he found out Juan Moss has a young, beautiful wife and a five-year-old son who attends a kindergarten in the C province of Blemure City.

He knew his wife’s and kid’s names, their activity schedule, where they went on which days at what time, and things like that.

Similarly, Shirley Fens, his previous secretary who now served Iris, had a rich second-generation boyfriend from a moderately rich construction company.

Iris, on the other hand, was still acting unconscious in the hospital while occasionally trying to pay marketing accounts to write some articles on her condition.

Multiple articles were released about her, attempting to garner sympathy; however, no one even paid attention to them, and even those who did only ridiculed her.

Neil was losing lawsuits after lawsuits, forcing him to pay ridiculous amounts as compensation. He was close to getting bankrupt.

Neil’s son, Christian, was also entangled in some lawsuits accusing him of harassing singers signed with Titan Crest Entertainment, but since there was no evidence, he was just losing his time and reputation, nothing else.

Meanwhile, Neil’s second daughter, Vertara Valcourt, was a professional influencer, dancer, and streamer who usually wore a mask to hide her face while making videos, so she was continuing to make videos despite her current situation.

Since fans didn’t know her identity, they continued to support her.

He couldn’t find anything on Amelia or Neil’s wife, Jane Valcourt.

He didn’t know what they were doing.

But from this information, he could come up with a few plans.

Soon, the shooting for My Heiress came to an end one month before the peak summer season, giving the crew enough time to go into postproduction and start promotional activities.

Even Ember was joyous at this news since they had finished much earlier than she had expected.

"Well done, Aren," she sounded pleased on the call. "You finished earlier than expected."

"Obviously," Aren said smugly, "Who do you take me for?"

"Yeah, the director praised you very highly." Ember said in agreement. "He said you almost never gave NGs. Thanks to you, the shooting finished smoothly. Additionally, he said you inspired other actors to work harder, so they gave wonderful performances as well."

In all this time, Aren had grown accustomed to Ember’s calls, not feeling awkward anymore. They even discussed random things sometimes, but it was mostly Ember who would talk; Aren only played the part of a good listener.

After a bit of random talk, Ember remembered the purpose of her call and said, "The crew had been assembled for your next drama. You will be pleasantly surprised to know who I’ve hired."

"Oh?" Aren raised his brows and curiously asked. "Who?"

A proud smile crept up on Ember’s lips as she said the names of the director and the cast while sipping coffee from a cup.

Soon, Aren’s eyes were wide open.

"Baron Dalon? The four-time best-director award winner?

"Rowen Hale? The five-time best-actor award winner?"

"Nightingale? The top idol group?"

Ember nodded, satisfied by his reaction. "Yes."

"And you are going to have them direct and act in a drama called ’Mafia Boss Returns to His High School Days’?" He asked incredulously.

"Cough cough," Ember coughed loudly from the other side of the phone, as if choking on her coffee.

She then corrected him, yelling, "It’s not called that. I’ve changed the name."

"Oh? You were the one to change it?" Aren was surprised, but at the same time, curious to know what she came up with.

She paused, letting the silence build up as she kept the coffee cup to the side and revealed the name of Aren’s next drama.

"The new name is ’New Chance’!"

"Oh," Aren was surprised. "That’s not a bad name."

For some reason, Ember seemed offended by that reaction. "Did you expect me to have a bad naming sense like the novelist you brought me?"

Aren coughed awkwardly and changed the topic. "So when is the shooting beginning?"

"Well, everything is ready other than some set designs." Ember said nonchalantly, "They should be done by the next week. Until then, get your manager to complete the formalities."

After conversing for a while longer, they ended the call.

Having a week free, Aren decided to begin his plan.

But that would begin tomorrow, for today he decided to go and buy some video games.

In the video game store, wearing his mask and cap, he was like a child when looking at those video game trailers and consoles.

"Good afternoon, Sir. What kind of game are you looking for? Single player? Multiplayer? Action? Adventure? Fighting games? Story-based games?..."

He continued to list different games under each category, showing him some trailers to let Aren understand how each game worked.

But for a beginner of his level, each game looked fascinating.

Even simple duck shooting was amazing and fun.

So, not wishing to embarrass himself by flaunting his lack of knowledge and experience, he said, "I’m buying every game you have."

"H-huh?" The salesperson was baffled out of his mind.

Had he heard him correctly?

What did he mean by buying every game?

"S-Sir, do you mean every latest game?" The salesperson wiped off his sweat from his brow and asked to confirm.

Aren shook his head. "No, I mean every game, from games for children to games for adults. I want to buy everything."

The salesperson looked at Aren from head to toe. He looked like an adult.

So why was he interested in children’s games?

Still, if he was serious about buying, the salesperson would get a giant commission, so he hurriedly brought out the manager.

Soon, the manager had a similar reaction as the salesperson.

No customer had ever bought every game at once from their store.

Moreover, Aren also requested everything needed to run those games.

That meant every console would need to be delivered to his house.

Still, after creating the highest amount bill in the store’s history, the manager asked for payment skeptically.

He had watched many prank videos on ViewTube.

He suspected some young boys would rush in, calling all of this a prank, but nothing of the sort happened.

Aren simply handed him his card, which assured the manager a bit.

The card was a VIP card from a prominent bank.

He swiped the card, and the payment went through, calming his skeptical brain.

Aren gave them the address of his house that he had bought recently for twenty million. It was actually a luxurious mansion in the B province of the city.

The next day, he was outside an orphanage with Livia sitting beside him.

She looked at him and asked incredulously:

"Why do you want to volunteer in this orphanage?"
