Chapter 464 - 437: Unrecyclable

Chapter 464: Chapter 437: Unrecyclable

In the evening, inside Fang Chenyi’s cabin on the cruise ship. Fang Chenyi pushed open the door to the room filled with Bone Powder, carrying a woven bag.

Gazing at the room filled to the brim with Bone Powder, he got to work.

He reached out, grabbed a handful, and tossed it directly into the woven bag.

Immediately, the system’s notification chimed in his mind.

[Host has collected one handful of unknown Bone Powder. System is unable to recycle this item. It has been compressed for the Host and stored in the woven bag’s space. Please retrieve it manually.]

The system notification in his mind stunned Fang Chenyi. ’What’s going on? It can’t be recycled?’

This was the first time something like this had happened since he’d gotten the woven bag. Apparently, there were things in this world that the woven bag couldn’t recycle.

This forced Fang Chenyi to see the woven bag in a new light. It wasn’t omnipotent, after all.

For a moment, Fang Chenyi felt a faint sense of disappointment.

But he soon came to terms with it. This was mythological stuff; it was understandable that his woven bag couldn’t process it.

At the same time, however, a question lingered in his mind.

’Back when I got that Medicine Pill in exchange for the special reward... didn’t the woven bag recycle the Bone Powder then? Why can’t it do it now?’

Although his mind was filled with questions, this time, the system offered no explanation.

To test his theory, or perhaps just to confirm he hadn’t misheard, Fang Chenyi reached out, grabbed another handful of Bone Powder, and tossed it into the woven bag.

Instantly, the same notification chimed once more.

[Host has collected one handful of unknown Bone Powder. System is unable to recycle this item. It has been compressed for the Host and stored in the woven bag’s space. Please retrieve it manually.]

He tried five or six more times, and every time, the notification in his mind was exactly the same.

They all told Fang Chenyi that the woven bag was unable to recycle the powder.

This finally made Fang Chenyi accept the truth.

But once his disappointment passed, he recalled the wording of the notification.

’It wasn’t recycled, but compressed and stored in the woven bag’s space for me?’

’What’s that all about?’

With that thought, he plunged his hand into the woven bag.

After rummaging around for a bit, he found seven small, dark gray Medicine Pills in a corner.

He scooped them all out and examined them closely.

"Holy crap. How come these things look so much like that special reward I got from recycling the Bone Powder back then?"

Fang Chenyi couldn’t help but mutter to himself.

After turning them over and examining them again, he grew even more certain: this was the exact same special reward the system had given him before.

This was such a fucking scam. He had painstakingly exchanged a special reward for a Medicine Pill, only to find out now that he could get them without recycling at all. For some reason, the whole situation left Fang Chenyi with a dull, frustrating ache.

Sighing in resignation, Fang Chenyi could only console himself:

’Forget it, forget it. No point getting angry. Isn’t this a good thing? At least now I don’t have to worry about not being able to trigger a special reward every single time.’

Thinking of it that way, Fang Chenyi actually started to feel a little excited.

These Medicine Pills were so much more convenient than all this Bone Powder. Plus, they had a lot more class, didn’t they?

He pictured it: with a grand wave of his hand, he would produce a handful of Medicine Pills.

Then he’d tell someone, "Here, eat this. It’s an Elixir I went through great trouble to obtain. After you eat it, you’ll become incredibly powerful."

Ahem. ’Wait, why does that make me sound like a snake oil salesman?’

After clearing his throat twice, Fang Chenyi casually tossed the Medicine Pills in his hand back into the woven bag’s space.

Then, he began his new task in earnest.

Now that he had a much more convenient method, there was no reason to keep all this Bone Powder around.

And so, Fang Chenyi started tossing the Bone Powder into the woven bag, one handful after another.

Soon, a large pile of grayish-white Medicine Pills had accumulated inside the woven bag’s space.

Fang Chenyi also made another discovery: no matter how much powder he put in a "handful," it would always turn into a single Medicine Pill. The only difference was a slight variation in size.

To test this, Fang Chenyi used a shovel to dump a large shovelful of Bone Powder into the bag. The result was a Medicine Pill the size of a grape.

Having reached this conclusion, and to save himself some effort, Fang Chenyi simply went to the kitchen and found a large ladle.

He grabbed a small stool and sat down, pouring the Bone Powder into the woven bag one scoop at a time.

This method proved to be much faster.

One hour, two hours, three hours...

Once Fang Chenyi got busy, he completely lost track of time.

He worked from dusk all the way past midnight, and from midnight until the sky turned pale with the first light of dawn.

Seeing less than a fifth of the Bone Powder remaining, Fang Chenyi could finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Fortunately, his physical condition was much better than before; even after working all night, Fang Chenyi didn’t feel tired at all.

Finally, shortly after eight in the morning, Fang Chenyi had converted the entire room of Bone Powder into small, grayish-white Medicine Pills.

He opened the woven bag and peered inside, immediately spotting the massive, dense pile of Medicine Pills in the corner. A quick estimate told him there were at least 20,000 of them.

He stood up, gave a long stretch, put the woven bag away, and headed down to the restaurant.

BZZZT...

Just as he stepped out of his cabin, his walkie-talkie crackled with static.

The static gave way to Liu Yishou’s voice. "Brother Fang, Poseidon Robton wants to see you. Will you meet with him?"

Without breaking his stride down the stairs, Fang Chenyi casually keyed the walkie-talkie’s switch and replied coolly:

"Tell him not to be in a rush. He should think long and hard about what he has to offer me in exchange. I’ll head over after I’ve had breakfast."

Fang Chenyi was, of course, deliberately making Poseidon Robton wait. It was time to negotiate. Since Fang Chenyi held the upper hand, it was only natural to play hardball.

When he arrived at the restaurant, Fang Chenyi was surprised to find both Vajra and Er Gouzi already there, eating.

The moment those two saw Fang Chenyi enter, they rushed over excitedly.

Vajra, in particular, grinned wide and went in for a bear hug.

Before, Fang Chenyi would have had no chance of dodging. But things were different now. Faced with Vajra’s arms, which spanned over two meters when spread wide, Fang Chenyi simply gave a light push off the ground with his foot, and his body instantly shifted more than two meters away.

Vajra froze, his expression stunned as he looked at where Fang Chenyi had just been. Utter confusion filled his large eyes.

Perhaps he was wondering when his master had gotten so strong...
