Chapter 483: Chapter 455: The Little Flight Attendant
However, Fang Chenyi didn’t let them all come along. After all, he was heading to a desert, where it wasn’t a matter of "the more the merrier." On the contrary, a more elite team was far better.
As Fang Chenyi came aboard, everyone greeted him.
Fang Chenyi smiled and waved at them before taking his seat. He turned to Qi Xiaotian and said, "Let’s take off as soon as we’re ready."
Amidst the ROAR of its engines, the massive Airbus A380 sliced through the air and climbed into the sky.
Their destination: an airport in a small city in Southern Xinjiang.
For the first few hours of the flight, Fang Chenyi kept his eyes closed, resting.
From last night until now, he had been going at it for nearly eight hours. Even with his excellent physique, Fang Chenyi felt a little exhausted.
"Boss. It’s mealtime. What would you like to eat?"
Fang Chenyi, who had been dozing, was stirred by a gentle female voice.
He opened his eyes to see a young flight attendant in full uniform, smiling as she leaned down toward him.
From Fang Chenyi’s perspective, he had a perfect, if coincidental, view of an unfathomably deep valley.
He coughed awkwardly and quickly averted his gaze to her face, only to pause. ’This flight attendant looks a little familiar.’
’But I’m a proper gentleman, after all,’ he thought. ’I can’t just keep staring.’ After the brief surprise, he smiled and spoke to the flight attendant.
"Yes, just a meal will be fine."
The young flight attendant gave Fang Chenyi a sweet smile.
"Of course, Boss. Do you have anything specific in mind? We’ve prepared a wide variety of dishes."
Fang Chenyi glanced behind him at his men, who were eating rice, chicken drumsticks, and some stir-fries. He pointed at them and said to the flight attendant,
"I’ll have what they’re having. Oh, and a Coke, please. Thank you."
The young flight attendant smiled and nodded at Fang Chenyi. She bent over her food cart, retrieved a meal, and placed it carefully in front of him. After pouring him a glass of Coke, she spoke again in a gentle voice,
"Is there anything else you need, Boss?"
Fang Chenyi smiled, shook his head, and said, "Thank you," before turning his attention to the meal in front of him.
On the outside, he maintained the air of a perfect gentleman, completely unfazed. Inwardly, however, he was groaning.
’Thank goodness I had that marathon session with Menghan last night and this morning. If not, with this girl laying it on so thick, I’d definitely be standing at attention by now.’
After the flight attendant walked away, Qi Xiaotian, who was sitting next to him, grinned at Fang Chenyi while eating.
"Heh heh, Brother Fang, I think that flight attendant has a thing for you."
Fang Chenyi shot him an annoyed glance.
"Piss off. Am I that kind of guy? Watch it, or I’ll tell your sister-in-law to deal with you when we get back."
Qi Xiaotian only teased him because he knew Fang Chenyi wasn’t that kind of man.
Honestly, Qi Xiaotian truly admired Fang Chenyi. A man like him, top-tier in both looks and wealth, would normally be expected to play the field. Yet Fang Chenyi managed to stay completely devoted to Bai Menghan. That was something not just anyone could do.
However, after hearing Qi Xiaotian’s words, Fang Chenyi gestured toward him with his chin and said,
"I’m not interested, but you could be. You’re a lonely bachelor, after all. Want me to play matchmaker for you two? Oh, right. Why does she look so familiar to me?"
Hearing Fang Chenyi’s teasing, Qi Xiaotian’s face flushed, and he quickly waved his hands in dismissal.
"No, no, no! I’m in no rush. I walk a razor’s edge every day. I could kick the bucket at any moment, and I can’t drag anyone else into that. As for her looking familiar, of course she does. She was part of the crew serving you throughout the trip in South Africa. The flight attendants on this plane are the same team that was assigned to you there."
Hearing this, Fang Chenyi nodded. ’No wonder she looked so familiar. So she’s from the team that was assigned to me.’
But during that whole trip in South Africa, Fang Chenyi had hardly spent any time in his quarters. As a result, he wasn’t familiar with the staff who had been serving him.
He would catch a glimpse of them occasionally and then promptly forget. Besides, the difference between a ship’s crew uniform and a flight attendant’s uniform was a total transformation. It was understandable that he didn’t recognize her.
The backgrounds of the men behind him predetermined the speed at which they ate. While Fang Chenyi was still taking small bites, a CLATTER of chopsticks and trays erupted from behind him.
Three minutes later, the noise died down. Fang Chenyi turned to look and was surprised to find that all fifty of them had finished their meals.
He turned back around, and what do you know, that guy Qi Xiaotian was finished too.
He glanced down at his own tray, from which he’d barely eaten a few bites.
Fang Chenyi simply picked up his tray and shoveled the rest of the food into his stomach with a few loud SLURPS.
He then chugged his Coke, let out a contented burp, and his meal was officially over. ’You know,’ he thought, ’eating like that is actually pretty damn good.’
After eating, Fang Chenyi suddenly remembered something. He looked over at Qi Xiaotian and asked with a puzzled expression,
"Hey, by the way, Xiaotian. Where’s Vajra? I haven’t seen him around."
Qi Xiaotian just smiled and pointed to a small bedroom nearby.
"That guy’s still asleep, so I put it in that bedroom."
This Airbus A380 had been specially modified, and the interior completely renovated.
Instead of the usual rows of seats, it was laid out like a large villa, complete with bedrooms, a study, a lounge, and so on.
The area where Fang Chenyi and his men were now was a large lounge.
To call it a lounge wasn’t entirely accurate, either. It was filled with rows of sofas and tables.
The space had been specifically designed with the consideration that Fang Chenyi would often travel with a large retinue.
The flight was smooth and there was nothing else to do, so Fang Chenyi stood up, pushed open the door to Vajra’s room, and went in to check on it.
"Just how many days has this fellow been asleep?" he murmured to himself. "Looks like it has no intention of waking up anytime soon."
He shook his head, feeling a bit helpless. He had no idea when the creature would finally wake up.
’When we get to Southern Xinjiang, if this thing still hasn’t woken up, am I going to have to find a special vehicle just to haul it around?’
RUMBLE...
Just as Fang Chenyi was wondering if he would have to drag Vajra through the desert...
Vajra, who was lying on the floor, suddenly let out a loud snore....
