Third Person’s POV
Eleanor’s expression changed slightly.
That aura can corrode even this ancient ice, and the rocky earth below...
She didn’t have time to think further, as she immediately retreated even further.
This demon was even more dangerous than she had estimated earlier.
The demon pulled its frozen arm backward and glared at her with rage.
Then its enormous body suddenly chased after her.
Its speed was far beyond what its massive frame should have allowed.
"mfff hurriii!"
It roared something in its strange language as it pursued her.
Eleanor’s expression tightened, and she suddenly jumped backward toward the horde of rabbit monsters.
The rabbits scattered in confusion as their master charged toward them.
But before Eleanor could create any distance, the demon’s twin horns suddenly began glowing with a deep crimson light.
A strange fluctuation, undetectable in the physical world, instantly spread outward from them and reached Eleanor, who had been aiming for the chaos to disperse the demon’s focus from her for a bit.
Eleanor’s body froze, and her pupils contracted.
The world around her seemed to distort.
For an instant, the enormous demon before her became something far more terrifying than it truly was.
The fear she had suppressed earlier came rushing back into her mind.
The possibility of being captured, the overwhelming difference in their strength, and the countless monsters surrounding them.
All of it suddenly became magnified within her mind.
Her body instinctively stopped moving.
Seeing this, the demon’s eyes flashed with vicious delight.
It had caught her.
Its massive body crossed the distance in an instant.
One of its bone blades swept sideways toward Eleanor.
The gray corrosive aura surrounding it melted everything in its path, causing the surrounding ice to hiss and vaporize while even the rocky ground beneath the blade began dissolving.
Eleanor’s eyes widened, as she knew that she couldn’t move her body away before the blade slashed at her body.
But just before the blade could reach her, a green scroll suddenly flew past her shoulder.
Aurelia!
She had been pushed aside earlier, but she had not remained idle.
Her hand released the scroll into the air while her mana surged into it.
The moment her mana entered the parchment, the scroll violently tore apart.
BOOOOM!
A gigantic gust of wind erupted.
The surrounding buildings shook violently as an overwhelming force swept through the street.
The sheep demon was caught directly in the center.
Its enormous body was blasted backward like a massive stone kicked by an invisible giant.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
It smashed through one building, then another, and then another, destroying all of them.
Stone and frozen debris exploded everywhere as the demon continued to be dragged backward by the devastating wind.
Only after it had been thrown dozens of meters away did the remaining force finally begin to weaken.
Aurelia stood beside Eleanor, breathing heavily.
Sweat covered her forehead.
She tightly gripped a short green sword that also functioned as a magical staff while watching the dust and ice slowly settle.
The demon eventually emerged from the ruins.
Its body was covered in numerous shallow cuts, and black blood slowly trickled from them.
But it was still standing.
Seeing this, Aurelia’s eyes widened, and she uttered in shock,
"How tough is this bastard’s body?"
She immediately moved toward Eleanor and supported her while Eleanor forced herself out of the lingering fear effect.
Eleanor glanced toward the destroyed buildings before looking at the green scroll remnants scattered across the ground.
"When did you obtain such a precious Rank Four wind spell, Sonic Boom?"
Aurelia gave a slightly embarrassed expression.
"I found it in the dungeons of the Ghostpine Woods about a year ago, Aunt. I didn’t know it was such an amazing thing."
She tightened her grip around her green weapon.
"I didn’t have enough money to properly appraise it back then, so I just kept it."
Eleanor stared at her for a moment before shaking her head.
"Never mind. We can discuss that later."
Her eyes turned toward the enormous demon.
"Let’s defeat this thing first."
Fortunately, the direction in which the sheep demon had been blasted happened to be directly toward the rabbit horde.
The enormous gust of wind had already turned more than half of the creatures into bloody remains, while the others were scattered across the ruined streets with various injuries.
The sudden ambush and the decimation of his minions caused the sheep demon’s yellow eyes to turn crimson gradually.
It suddenly threw its head backward and released an enraged roar.
"ROOOAAAR!"
The soundwave alone dispersed the remaining wind force around it.
The demon then shouted something unintelligible before charging toward the two women again.
It was unbelievably fast, and its enormous body left multiple afterimages behind as it crossed the ruined street.
Eleanor’s expression darkened, yet a faint trace of relief appeared within her eyes.
"It’s completed."
She tightened her grip around her spear.
"My strongest spell."
Aurelia’s eyes widened.
She hadn’t even noticed when it had happened.
The entire area within roughly fifty meters around them had been silently covered by a faint violet icy aura.
Tiny flakes of purple ice floated through the air.
The temperature had fallen sharply.
The surrounding buildings were gradually becoming covered in a thin layer of violet frost.
It was Ice Burial.
It was one of the most famous and powerful Rank Four spells available to Sky Realm ice mages.
Eleanor herself had not yet reached that realm, so she couldn’t reproduce the complete spell.
What she had constructed was a simplified Rank Three version of the technique.
Yet even this incomplete version possessed frightening power.
It was the same fundamental spell that the old man accompanying Arlene’s group had previously released through a magical scroll in the Ghostpine Woods when he slaughtered the frost wolves and sent a signal to Prince Erius.
However, the version Eleanor had personally constructed was considerably more refined.
The moment the sheep demon entered the violet domain, the faint purple glow surrounding the entire area suddenly intensified, and then focused on it.
