Truth or dare with Mahina Koridia involved had me wondering what I’d end up doing. I kept making eyes at Evy. Maybe Mahina would dare us to make out in front of everyone else in the big tent we found ourselves in. That’d be kind of hot. Get everyone to see her being all “she’s mine” about me. Maybe staring at Evy’s ass had my brain fried.
“Maybe we should start with some introductions,” Evy said, the teacher in her shining through. I don’t think anyone’s a fan of introductory icebreakers, but seeing something Evy probably started every semester with was cute.
Along with myself, Evy, Mahina, Pippi, and Alix, there were three others with us who gave us very brief details about themselves: Vallie, a Cani with twin cat tails (she said she had two more that fell off over the years), Vega, a Kanibari dragon who ran a local travel agency, and Moira, a mail carrier.
Vega and Moira appeared to be more than fairly into each other and came in together, which was working out fine for Mahina, who hit it off with Vallie right away with the first question.
“Truth or dare,” Vallie said.
“Truth,” Mahina said.
“Hm, truth,” Vallie said. “Do you…think I’m pretty?”
“Of course,” Mahina said. “The hongus fonongus situation is spectacular.”
“Hongus…what now?” I said.
After some context clues, I realized that hongus fonongus meant boobs. Not how I’d describe them, ever, nor would I start out with that, but Vallie laughed like I did when Evy flirted with me.
“I choose dare!” Alix announced before we even figured out who was going next, or how we’d decide the order.
“I dare you to kiss me…on the cheek!” Pippi blurted out.
“Aw, Pips, go for the full make out if it’s a dare,” I said.
“I got really scared halfway through,” Pippi said.
“This uh, hm,” Alix scratched her head.
“Is that a no go?” Pippi said. “It’s alright if that’s too much.”
“No, I was just ready to bark like a dog for you if you wanted,” Alix said. “I would degrade myself as much as possible if need be, and have done so in truth and/or dare type situations in the past.” She didn’t even say any of that in a smooth manner, but that seemed to work even better on Pippi.
Evy looked like she wanted to astral project to be anywhere else in that moment.
“Uh, maybe next dare,” Pippi said. “But…so this one’s good?”
Alix nodded. She tripped over herself, crushing the little plastic campfire thing they put in the middle of our tent, which was inside a much bigger tent. How many tents could they fit in one place? Enough to get me to say tent approximately five hundred times that day.
Pippi tilted her head and dutifully waited as Alix picked herself up, and slowly crawled over. She somehow managed to headbutt Pippi on the attempt, and I was ready to throw hands until Pippi waved me off. Her second attempt went slightly better, with Alix giving Pippi a peck on her cheek. That’s what it was at the start at least, she ended up halfway making out with the side of Pippi’s face, as we just sat there watching. It was like we’d all reverted into awkward junior high schoolers at some dorky party, but that did make for fun energy.
“Right, um, I think it’s Evy’s turn, I’ve decided,” I said. “Truth or dare.”
“Hm, dare I guess,” Evy said.
“I dare you to…sit on my lap,” I said. “I mean! Have me sit on your lap!”
“Too late, dare one is the one you go with, no takes-backsies,” Vallie said.
“Well, in that case,” Evy was a lot more graceful moving over to me, but it was immediately pretty awkward having her on my lap with how much shorter I was than her.
“Stella,” Evy said.
“Yes?” I said, my voice muffled by her back as I hugged her.
“Did you think this one through?” Evy asked.
“Not really,” I said.
“How long do I have to stay here?” Evy asked.
“Rest of the game,” Mahina said. “Them’s the rules.”
