"DIVINE Father-in-law, why are you letting those things spy on you?"
By "those things," Neoma meant the blobs of Darkness in every corner of Lord Levi’s huge residence.
Just the tea room alone was full of that disgusting shit.
"They don’t bother me," Lord Levi said nonchalantly. "All I do is sleep these days anyway."
"What if they kill you in your sleep, Divine Father-in-law?"
"They can try."
Aigoo.
"Divine Father-in-law, you’re not me. So, you can’t be too confident," Neoma said, shaking her head. "Can I take care of them? It bothers me that these things are roaming freely in your residence."
"Do what you want," Lord Levi said. "It’s not like I can stop you."
Right?
"Don’t eat them, Neoma," Ruto said. No, her man actually used a scolding tone on her. "Helstor might be tempting you into eating those things, so let’s be extra vigilant."
"Yeah, I know," Neoma said, smiling. "Actually, I have a new technique that I want to try."
"Is it a skill from the previous timeline?"
"Nah. Most of my skills from back then were designed to kill gods," Neoma said, waving her hand as if she were leading an orchestra. "This skill is like an extension of the technique that the former Saint Zavaroni taught me when I was a child."
"I see," Ruto said, tilting his head to one side. "Then... a barrier?"
"Yep," Neoma answered cheerfully. "But make it vacuum."

THEY’RE GONE?
Helstor wouldn’t say that he was surprised when the blobs of Darkness that he ’sprinkled’ in Lord Levi’s residence had completely disappeared.
The moment Princess Neoma arrived in the Upper World, he knew it would happen.
Princess Neoma could ignore the Darkness swallowing the other parts of the Upper World, but she wouldn’t be able to ignore the Darkness in Lord Levi’s residence.
Hence, he was hoping that the little princess would devour the Darkness that he spread there.
However...
Hmm.
It seems like the little princess found a new way to devour Darkness without digesting it.
Interesting.
I need to see it for myself.
Helstor tried to sneak into Lord Levi’s residence, but...
"GRRR..."
Ah.
I got caught.
Helstor laughed when two Elemental Guardians blocked his way— the White Lion and the Thunderbird.
Princess Neoma, Yoan, you really know me well, don’t you?
"Leave," the White Lion said. "You have no business here, God of Eternal Darkness."
"Ah, don’t misunderstand," Helstor said, smiling. "I’m just here to visit Lord Levi."
The Thunderbird only scoffed at his lame excuse.
"We weren’t born yesterday," the White Lion said. "To be fair, I do not care whether you really have business with Lord Levi or not. But do it after Princess Neoma leaves. I don’t want you near my princess."
"You are fiercely loyal towards the Imperial Princess, huh?"
"Please. You do not know a thing about loyalty, so why talk about it?"
Hah.
A mere Elemental Guardian dared to act arrogant towards a god like him?
"Once I defeat Princess Neoma, the first thing I’ll do is hand you back to Calyx de Luca and make you his lovely pet once again."
"Then I have nothing to worry about," the White Lion said smugly. "Princess Neoma will never lose— especially not to the likes of you."
Killing this Elemental Guardian would definitely make Princess Neoma snap.
Maybe attacking the princess here instead of waiting for the war is better. I can’t let Princess Neoma grow stronger than she already is.
Helstor moved with the intention to kill the White Lion.
The Elemental Guardians felt it and became alert.
However, before he could attack...
"What are you trying to do, Helstor?"
Ah.
"Arien?"
It was the God of War, who suddenly appeared out of thin air— literally standing between Helstor and the Elemental Guardians.
"You’re not planning to kill the Elemental Guardians that belong to Princess Neoma and Yoan, are you?"
"What is it to you, Arien?"
"Hey, I’m really looking forward to watching the strongest humans fight against each other in the upcoming war," Arien said, shooting Helstor a cold look. "Don’t ruin my fun."
Ah, this damned war-crazy bastard.
Arien is strong, so I can’t afford to waste my strength fighting him.
"Alright, I won’t," Helstor said, raising his hands in surrender. "I was just trying to scare those Elemental Guardians for being disrespectful."
***
AH, someone interrupted.
Neoma actually placed Kingston outside to guard just in case Helstor bit her bait.
She wanted the God of Eternal Darkness to sneak into Lord Levi’s residence by announcing to the entire Upper World that she had developed a new skill.
Plus, she also asked the White Lion to provoke Helstor.
If Helstor tried to lay a hand on Grandpa Kingston, then I would have used that as an excuse to kill him right here, right now.
Neoma wanted to honor the deal that he made with Helstor.
But I can already tell that the bastard wouldn’t follow the rules, even if we change them according to what he wants.
Too bad her plan failed.
"Why do you look disappointed?" Ruto asked. Even without talking about it, this man already knew about her plan. Hence, he sent Veton with Kingston. "Are you that impatient to deal with Helstor? You and I both know that neither you nor Helstor would follow the rules anyway. Having said that, won’t it be wiser to wait for the war to start? Your loved ones will be sad if you try to fight this battle alone again."
Neoma tilted her head to one side. "Including you?"
"Yes. I’m just next to you, but you didn’t discuss your move with me."
"Well, I figured you already knew what I wanted to happen when I sent Grandpa Kingston outside. Isn’t that the reason you sent Veton to follow him?"
"Is it the same as you personally discussing your plan with me?"
"Ah, touche."
"Neoma, I don’t mind if you don’t share every single plan that you have with me," Ruto said carefully. "But when it involves something as important as killing Helstor, I’d appreciate it if you gave me a heads-up."
"Okay, I’m sorry."
"You don’t have to apologize."
"Ah, I would have given you a hug as an apology, but..."
Ruto suddenly opened his arms.
Neoma laughed before throwing herself into Ruto’s waiting arms, wrapping her arms around his waist. "I didn’t tell you because we don’t only have eyes watching us here, but also ears eavesdropping on us. I just knew you’d figure out what I was planning to do because you knew me like the back of your hand."
"And you did a good job getting rid of those things here."
Right?
Neoma looked over her shoulder.
The tiny sphere floating in the middle of the room was the barrier-slashed-vacuum that absorbed all the blobs of Darkness in Lord Levi’s residence.
Hence, the once-crystal clear barrier had turned completely black.
With a hint of purple hues all over.
I’ll give that to Hanna as a present.
"What are you doing in front of me?" Lord Levi asked, scoffing. "Can you please not do that in my presence?"
"Oh, come on, Divine Father-in-law," Neoma complained lightly. "What’s wrong with Ruto and me hugging?"
"I don’t want to see it," Lord Levi said coldly. "It’s like a thief showing off the treasure that she stole from the victim."
Aigoo.
"Divine Father-in-law, that’s too much. I didn’t steal Ruto from you. Ruto is mine from the start— in all timelines."
"Shouldn’t you be saying that Yoan is his own person?" Lord Levi asked. "Would you like it if Yoan reduced you to being his possession?"
"Of course, I wouldn’t like that," Neoma said, nodding. "But this and that are two different things. I am my own person, but Ruto is mine."
Lord Levi just sighed, and then he looked at Ruto. "And you’re fine with that?"
"I am. It’s true, anyway. I belong to Neoma," Ruto said, gently patting Neoma’s back before looking down at her. "Neoma, you should return to the human world and wake Trevor Kesser. I know that you’ll agree with Helstor’s proposal anyway, so let’s rewrite the contract as soon as possible. Then prepare the reserve players that you’re bringing to join the war."
"Okay," Neoma said. She was planning to leave anyway since the major gods were starting to irritate her. She didn’t like being watched, after all. But before that, she had something she wanted to do first. "Divine Father-in-law, let me create a new barrier for your residence."

A UNICORN?
Nero raised an eyebrow when Aruna and Arche de Moonasterio presented an unconscious baby unicorn to him.
It was a small white horse, only with a glass-like horn on its forehead.
So, that makes it a unicorn, right?
"Where did you find that thing?"
For some reason, Aruna and Arche de Moonasterio gasped in disbelief.
"This punk just called a unicorn a ’thing,’" Aruna de Moonasterio said while glaring at Nero. "Hey. If you’re truly a de Moonasterio, you should be obsessed with unicorns."
"Why?"
"Because unicorns are the most beautiful beings in the world!"
"Wrong," Nero said bluntly. "Neoma is the most beautiful being in the world."
Aruna de Moonasterio just stared at him in disbelief.
Nero crossed his arms over his chest. "I’m right, am I not?"
"Uh, it’s not important right now," Arche de Moonasterio said, placing his hands on Aruna de Moonasterio’s shoulders. "Nero, we saved the unicorn from dying— and she was dying because the Black Ocean had completely dried up."
"What?" Nero asked, shocked. "The Black Ocean had dried up?"
