The rest of the day passed the way most administrative days did—folders, signatures, short exchanges over the communicator that ended almost as soon as they began.

Callum dragged Hans back to the practice area twice more, and twice more Hans found himself exhausted on the concrete before he could beat Callum to a pulp.

None of it demanded his full attention. However, all of it kept him busy enough that he nearly missed the moment the War Factory’s timer finally reached zero.

[ Construction queue finished for: War Factory (Physical). Please select deployment zone. ]

Hans set down whatever he’d been holding and pulled the Radar map forward.

280 by 180 meters minimum, 500 by 350 recommended. Road access heavy enough to move armor, with clearance from both front and back.

Hans switched between the two dimensions and realized the difference.

I should use the largest for the first, he thought.

His hands panned through the map, dragging the rectangular shape of the War Factory’s flat outline into finding a good spot.

The base’s northwestern edge had grown enough over the past weeks that a section of cleared industrial lots now sat well within the existing perimeter.

It cleared the ground of obstacles, with a straight run of road wide enough for two Vanguard MBTs to pass each other, and close enough to the direction of Westgate that whatever came out of the War Factory wouldn’t need to travel far to reach the corridor his troops had already secured.

Hans pinged the marked zone, then switched to his radio.

"All units near the northwestern lot, clear the marked area. Heavy structure deployment incoming. Move outside the green boundary."

Several voices answered at once.

"Engineer Team Two copies."

"Perimeter squad falling back."

"Guardian One moving personnel away."

Hans watched the blue dots shift away from the selected zone on his map. A few soldiers jogged clear of the lot while an Engineer team dragged equipment back toward the road.

The area was cleared in a few minutes.

Without hesitation, Hans confirmed the deployment marker.

The wait wasn’t long.

[ War Factory (Physical) deployment commencing. ]

------

The ground trembled.

Loose soil collapsed inward. Broken concrete vanished into digital green pixels. Whatever debris had scattered across the lot were pushed aside as the System forced the area into a stable foundation.

Then the anchors came down. Loudly.

Heavy steel supports punched into the ground, one after another, tracing the outline of something far larger than anything he’d deployed before.

By the time the tremor started, most of the base had already gone quiet for the night. Floodlights carried the work that still needed doing; everything else had slowed to the low hum of a camp waiting for morning.

Johannes was still awake near the supply depot, going over tomorrow’s supply run with Evelyn when the ground shifted under his boots.

"What in the world—" he muttered, one hand instinctively going for his sidearm.

A nearby soldier didn’t even look up from his crate. "It’s the Commander, sir."

Johannes lowered his hand slowly, though he didn’t relax. Evelyn had already stepped past him, drawn toward the light spilling from the northwestern lot.

"Johannes, do you see this?" she almost shouted.

From where they stood, steel plates surfaced in rows, locking together with a mechanical precision that made the hair on Evelyn’s arms stand up.

"That’s not construction," she said quietly. "Construction doesn’t sound like that."

"It doesn’t look like that either," Johannes furrowed his brows.

He had felt something similar when he first saw the strange facility with the rotating Radar dish on the eastern edge of the base.

Both agents’s attention were drawn by this new, strange phenomenon.

And at that moment—

Massive bay doors rose—segmented, armored, wide enough to swallow a Vanguard MBT whole. Behind them, gantry cranes unfolded from the rising frame, their arms locking into position above what would become the factory floor.

A second structure climbed alongside the first—narrower, ringed with reinforced rails that curved toward the open bay doors like a birth canal built from steel.

"An assembly line," Johannes said, half to himself. "He’s building an assembly line."

Sparks arced along exposed conduits as internal systems came alive. The hum deepened into something felt more than heard, vibrating up through the soles of Evelyn’s boots.

"Johannes," Evelyn’s voice had gone tight. "Tell me this is normal."

"Nothing about this is normal," he replied, unable to look away. "I don’t think it’s ever going to be normal."

The last of the framework locked into place. Floodlights along the factory’s edge flared on, one row after another, washing the entire lot in white.

Hans’s breath caught for half a second.

He pulled up the full entry before the excitement could get ahead of him.

------

[ Structure: War Factory (Physical) ]

[ Type: Armored Vehicle Production Facility ]

[ Energy Consumed: 200 energy units. ]

[ Structural Systems ]

[ Vehicle Fabrication Assembly Lines ]

Automated lines assemble chassis, armor plating, and weapon systems into combat-ready vehicles, generated and stabilized far faster than conventional manufacturing.

[ Heavy Manufacturing Core ]

Located at the center of the facility is the Heavy Manufacturing Core, an enormous industrial fabrication complex responsible for producing the structural components that make up armored vehicles.

The Manufacturing Core fabricates vehicle frames, suspension systems, engine assemblies, armor modules, weapon mounts, turret rings, ammunition storage systems, and countless other mechanical components before distributing them to the assembly lines.

[ Crew Synchronization Bay ]

Crews are generated and neurally linked to the System alongside their vehicle, ensuring immediate operational readiness upon deployment.

[ Automated Testing Grounds ]

Every completed vehicle passes through an enclosed testing corridor before deployment.

Vehicles are only released after successfully passing all diagnostic procedures, ensuring that every produced platform enters service in optimal operating condition.

[ Deployment Bays ]

Reinforced bay doors and overhead cranes move completed vehicles from the assembly floor directly onto the deployment lane.

[ Operational Effects ]

Enables production of armored vehicles, support vehicles, and heavy mechanized platforms.

[ Production Capacity ]

Vehicle Production Slot: 4

Allows simultaneous production of 4 vehicles at once.

Has unlimited maximum active queue.

[ Upgrade Paths ]

[ Automated Manufacturing Systems ] - 10,000 Gold

Advanced fabrication robotics reduce vehicle production time by 25% while increasing overall assembly efficiency.

[ Expanded Production Lines (15,000 Gold) ]

Adds two additional production lines, allowing up to six vehicles to be fabricated simultaneously.

[ Remarks ]

The War Factory is one of the largest industrial structures within the base, resembling a sprawling armored manufacturing complex filled with towering gantry cranes, automated assembly rails, welding arrays, fabrication presses, and reinforced deployment hangars.

Massive blast doors open periodically as newly completed vehicles emerge from the factory, their engines already running and their crews prepared for immediate deployment.

The constant sound of heavy machinery, hydraulic presses, and armored tracks gives the facility the appearance of a city-sized industrial powerhouse dedicated entirely to mechanized warfare.

[ Energy: 860 / 1,200 ]

------

Hans’s breath halted as he read through the entire information of the newly deployed War Factory (Physical).

Although it did not allow batch training of vehicles similar to the Barracks’s squad training logic, the production capacity was a huge upgrade by itself.

And that’s not all!

He excitedly closed the information panel and shifted to a notification he was waiting for.
