After closing the door, Chu Qiguang passed through the front hall of the relay station and entered the lounge area.

It was still pitch-black, and the sounds of Zhang Jitian doing battle were drifting further and further away.

Chu Qiguang pulled out a medicinal vial, then tipped an Eye Opening Pill out of it.

This was one of the most commonly used pills in the Demon Vanquishing Department. Back when he was trying to make a breakthrough to the third state, he had popped Ear Opening Pills like candy to enhance his senses.

"Isn't it a bit too late to be taking pills now?" a female voice giggled from within the darkness. "You've already become separated from your friend."

"It's fine," Chu Qiguang replied casually before taking the Eye Opening Pill. His pupils instantly contracted into tiny spots, making it appear as if his eyes had turned completely white.

"Do all brats from the Demon Vanquishing Department nowadays have a death wish like you?" a coarse male voice harrumphed.

Thanks to the Eye Opening Pill, Chu Qiguang was able to see in the darkness, and to his surprise, there were over twenty fiends gathered inside the relay station.

At the center of the room was a table, behind which sat a seductive young woman with a forked tongue flicking out of her mouth.

To her left was a monkey fiend, while to her right was a pig fiend holding a meat cleaver. All the other fiends were standing around the table, which was laden with neat rows of entrails, fingers, eyeballs...

In addition, a series of human carcasses were hanging from the rafters like livestock.

"Consider yourself unlucky," the monkey fiend said in a coarse voice.

The pig fiend began sharpening his meat cleaver as he harrumphed, "I wasn't expecting anyone else to join the slaughter this late at night."

At that moment, all twenty or so fiends had their eyes fixed on Chu Qiguang, with mocking sneers on their faces.

Meanwhile, Lei Yi was curled up into a ball off to the side with a hood over his eyes, grumbling to himself, "I told you to leave, but you wouldn't listen..."

These fiends had stormed into the relay station and slaughtered everyone inside, and Lei Yi had no intention of reliving that trauma by watching Chu Qiguang suffer the same fate.

Chu Qiguang stroked Qiao Zhi on the back, and Qiao Zhi opened his eyes to take a glance at the fiends in the room. He then yawned and closed his eyes again before snuggling into a more comfortable position in Chu Qiguang's arms.

All of a sudden, a strong gust of wind swept through the room, and three fiends seated at the table were stunned to discover that Chu Qiguang had abruptly appeared behind them.

At the same time, waves of intense, scorching heat erupted from Chu Qiguang's body, causing all the flesh and entrails on the table to sizzle and crackle.

"Have any of you seen a boy by the name of Lei Yushu?" Chu Qiguang asked as he flashed a toothy grin.

As he spoke, his entire body slowly turned an inky-black color from head to toe. With the darkness acting as a perfect camouflage, his unsettling white eyes and gleaming teeth became his only visible features.

He gently pressed his hands down onto the shoulders of the monkey fiend and the pig fiend, and their skin and flesh instantly began to sizzle as well.

"Don't be afraid of him! He's just one guy!" the pig fiend roared as a pair of tusks jutted out of his mouth. He raised his meat cleaver and swung it viciously at Chu Qiguang's head.

The meat cleaver was met with a single finger, which stopped it cold in its tracks. It was then slowly forced back toward the pig fiend inch by inch.

The pig fiend let loose a thunderous roar, and his entire body swelled drastically in size as all his clothes were torn to shreds in an instant.

In the blink of an eye, he had grown to over three meters tall, and tufts of hard fur had appeared all over his face and neck.

Serpentine veins bulged on the backs of his hands, and the ground exploded beneath his feet. However, despite his best efforts, Chu Qiguang's finger continued to hold him in place as if he were being crushed beneath a mountain.

He could only watch helplessly as the meat cleaver was slowly forced down onto his chest, slicing through his flesh before crunching through his bones amid a series of grotesque sounds.

The surrounding fiends watched in shock and horror as the meat cleaver was forced all the way into the pig fiend's chest cavity.

Blood came spewing and frothing from his mouth, while all the other fiends looked on helplessly, completely immobilized by fear.

"No one knows?" Chu Qiguang asked casually, even as he continued forcing the meat cleaver deeper and deeper into the pig fiend's body.

The monkey fiend was sweating profusely, and he mustered up the courage before stuttering, "W-We don't know who Lei Yushu is."

Chu Qiguang turned to him with a displeased expression, then grabbed him by the shoulders and tore him in two as if he were made of paper.

The seductive young woman immediately fell to her knees, trembling in fear as she begged, "Please spare us! We don't know anything!"

However, in the next instant, her vision was completely obscured as Chu Qiguang grabbed her by the face, covering her eyes with his hand.

"Please spare us!" the woman continued to beg as her teeth chattered uncontrollably. "We can be your servants! We can be of use to you!"

"You can be of use to me? I don't see how," Chu Qiguang sneered. A sickening crunch rang out, following which a snake carcass slid from his hand onto the ground.

"Run!"

All the fiends immediately fled in a blind panic, knocking over furniture and stumbling over one another in their desperate bid to get away.

Unfazed by the commotion, Chu Qiguang casually pulled out a Nose Opening Pill and swallowed it, instantly heightening his sensitivity to all the smells in the room.

A rat fiend dressed in a long robe was curled up into a ball atop the rafters, watching as the fiends below were pulverized one after another.

He heaved a sigh of relief as he watched Chu Qiguang make his way toward the rear hall, but all of a sudden, Chu Qiguang vanished from his field of vision.

His entire body stiffened as he felt a wave of intense heat sweeping toward him from behind.

"Found you!"

Lei Yi had ducked into a cabinet for refuge amid the chaos, and in his eyes, Chu Qiguang was far more terrifying than any fiend or demon that he had ever seen.

He peeked through the gap between the cabinet doors as Chu Qiguang brutally slew one fiend after another, and just as he thought Chu Qiguang was about to leave, he suddenly sprang up onto the rafters and crushed the rat fiend that had been hiding there.

Finally, Chu Qiguang made his way into the backyard, much to Lei Yi's relief.

He adjusted his position ever-so-slightly, and the wooden boards of the cabinet beneath him released a faint creak that sounded incredibly loud in the dead silence.

Lei Yi's heart instantly skipped a beat, and he stared intently into the room through the gap in the cabinet doors, terrified that Chu Qiguang would return.

Even after waiting for quite some time, Chu Qiguang still hadn't returned, and Lei Yi allowed himself a faint sigh of relief.

Right at that moment, the entire room outside the cabinet doors suddenly turned pitch-black, and try as he might, Lei Yi was unable to make out anything outside.

He was wondering why the room had suddenly become so dark when he spotted two white spots amid the darkness.

They were Chu Qiguang's eyes.

Chu Qiguang was crouched in front of the cabinet, looking at him.
