Chu Qiguang and the others were traveling along a mountain path when a chorus of beastly roars suddenly rang out around them, and they found themselves surrounded by an army of fiends.

Pairs of red, green, and yellow eyes appeared in the darkness, dancing around Chu Qiguang's group like clusters of ghostly flames.

A fearful look appeared on Hao Xiangtong's face as she hurriedly tugged on the reins, bringing her horse to a halt.

"There has to be at least a hundred fiends here!" she exclaimed in a tense voice. "Surely even Zhang Jitian won't be able to take on all of them. We have to find a way to break out of the encirclement."

"Go," Chu Qiguang said. "You and Chen Gang go on ahead. Zhang Jitian and I will hold them off, and we'll catch up with you later."

Hao Xiangtong opened her mouth to protest, but Chu Qiguang slapped the backside of her horse, sending it bolting down the mountain path with a startled neigh.

Hao Xiangtong desperately tugged on the reins, but her horse refused to stop, clearly alarmed by the stinging pain in its backside.

"Chu Qiguang!" Hao Xiangtong yelled furiously. "You better not die!"

Chen Gang immediately set off after her, while Qiao Zhi slipped out of Chu Qiguang's arms to secretly escort the two of them.

Chu Qiguang wanted to send Lei Yushu with them as well, but she wrapped her arms around his leg with a stubborn expression, refusing to leave.

"You can stay if you want," Chu Qiguang said with a smile.

A small portion of the fiends in the forest set off after Hao Xiangtong and Chen Gang, while the rest remained behind, tightly encircling Chu Qiguang and Zhang Jitian.

The Chaotic Heavens King swaggered out into the open, accompanied by the Supreme Elder, while the Yaksha Wraith circled overhead.

"Are you scared?" Chu Qiguang asked as he patted Lei Yushu on the head.

Lei Yushu was trembling with fear, but she still lied, "No."

I don't know whether you're scared, but I definitely am! Zhang Jitian thought.

The two fiends before them were clearly not to be trifled with. The immense heat radiating from their bodies was enough to vaporize the snow in a large area around them.

That wasn't even to mention the fiend flying overhead or all the other lesser fiends gathering in the surrounding forest.

In Zhang Jitian's eyes, this was already a completely hopeless situation, even for someone as powerful as Chu Qiguang.

To make matters worse, the lesser fiends in the forest were armed with weapons such as sabers and spears. They also moved in a uniform and organized manner, clearly indicating that they were a well-trained unit.

Chu Qiguang patted Lei Yushu's head in approval and reassurance, then turned his gaze toward the Chaotic Heavens King and the Supreme Elder.

The former was a Zheng Beast, a feline fiend with five tails and a horn on its head, while the latter was a white ape. Eight tentacles extended from the Chaotic Heavens King's shadow, while seven extended from the Supreme Elder's.

Then there was the Yaksha Wraith circling overhead. Chu Qiguang couldn't identify what kind of fiend he was, but he was clearly no less formidable than his two companions.

On top of that, there were four other fiends, each with a single tentacle extending from their shadows.

The fiends of Shu Province really are something else! Any one of these three fiends could kill Yang Ling.

"Chu Qiguang! Hand over the pills the emperor gave you, and we'll spare your life!" the Supreme Elder demanded.

Chu Qiguang paid no heed to the Supreme Elder. Instead he looked down at Lei Yushu and asked, "Do you still remember what I've taught you over the past couple of days?"

Lei Yushu nodded in response. Chu Qiguang had been teaching her the Heavenly Spirit Body Refinement Fist Techniques.

"Then go and kill that tiger fiend," Chu Qiguang instructed, pointing at a nearby tiger fiend. Standing over two meters tall, it was one of the four one-tentacle fiends present.

Lei Yushu cast a bewildered glance at the fiend, then turned back to Chu Qiguang.

"You can do it," Chu Qiguang encouraged. "Believe in yourself."

Lei Yushu nodded, then began making her way toward the tiger fiend.

All the fiends present looked on in amused bewilderment as the tiny Lei Yushu approached the mountainous tiger fiend while practicing her fist techniques with her tender little fists.

The tiger fiend could barely contain his amusement as he swiped a claw down at Lei Yushu. She froze momentarily in fear, only to quickly muster her courage again through tightly gritted teeth.

She opened her mouth and let out a trembling roar, then threw a punch at the tiger fiend with all her might. An explosive boom instantly erupted from her fist, much to Zhang Jitian's astonishment.

She's made a breakthrough to the first state?!

Chu Qiguang smiled and nodded in approval.

She managed to make a breakthrough with her life on the line. As expected of one of the Eight Han Resurgence Generals.

Of course, even after her breakthrough, Lei Yushu was still no match for the tiger fiend.

Just as her fist was about to collide with the tiger fiend's razor-sharp claws, Chu Qiguang appeared in front of her in a flash, easily catching the tiger fiend's paw.

"Well done," he praised as he turned to Lei Yushu.

A wide smile immediately spread across Lei Yushu's face, but in the next instant, her elation turned to horror as the tiger fiend opened its mouth and lunged at Chu Qiguang's neck.

However, with nothing more than a gentle swat of his hand, Chu Qiguang smashed the tiger fiend's head to a pulp, leaving it unclear whether the fiend was dead or alive.

The three fiend kings instantly realized that they weren't dealing with a fourth-state martial artist. Chu Qiguang was clearly a fifth-state martial artist, and a very formidable one at that.

In the blink of an eye, all three of them pounced at Chu Qiguang in unison.

Chu Qiguang's skin began turning black as he made his way toward the Chaotic Heavens King, and he ordered, "Zhang Jitian, make sure to keep her safe. If she dies, then you die."

A resounding thump rang out as Chu Qiguang caught the Chaotic Heavens King's swiping paw, then kicked the Supreme Elder in the belly.

The Yaksha Wraith swooped down toward Lei Yushu, but Chu Qiguang grabbed him by the wing, stopping him cold in his tracks.

The Yaksha Wraith let out an agonized wail as he retreated while cradling his broken wing, while the other two fiend kings pounced once more.

The Supreme Elder opened his mouth and released a cloud of white mist that enveloped Chu Qiguang from head to toe, obscuring his vision. Taking advantage of his momentary disorientation, the Supreme Elder wrapped his arms around Chu Qiguang's waist.

The Chaotic Heavens King immediately seized the opportunity, biting down with vicious force to tear off Chu Qiguang's head before swallowing it whole.

Just as everyone thought Chu Qiguang had been killed, a burst of golden radiance erupted from his body, illuminating the entire area.

Immediately afterward, a second Chu Qiguang casually emerged from the first knesody of the first one, leaving behind a headless husk.
