Sea Survival: My Luck is Off the Charts

Chapter 356: Master Gideon’s 17th Disciple

Faye Yardley returned to the sea by noon the next day, immediately enveloped by the intense heat of the high temperatures.

Perhaps because her base Constitution had already reached 42, and with the 5-point bonus from the current leaderboard rankings, she was closing in on 50. As a result, Faye Yardley felt no discomfort even in such scorching weather.

"It’s so hot, so hot, so hot! The weather out here is nowhere near as comfortable as it was on the island," Bella Yardley said before running into the planting room to find Eamon.

Cole Kensington was puzzled. "Do intelligent robots even have a sense of temperature?"

Willow Yardley stared at him and said coldly, "What do you think?"

"Second Sister, my mistake. Since they are life, then all life is equal, and all beings have feelings."

As he spoke, just as Bella had run into the planting room, Eamon came running out, moving so fast he was practically a blur.

"Big Sis, help! Bella is in the planting room wreaking havoc on the fruit again! Please, take her away!"

’Having these people around is certainly lively,’ Faye Yardley thought.

’They’re not just my friends anymore; they’re my family.’

’Sure enough, feelings between people are built over time.’

Faye Yardley put a hand out, stopping the rapidly approaching Eamon. "What fruits did she pick?" she asked.

"The unripe red apricots and apples. I couldn’t stop her."

Before Faye Yardley could even say anything, Willow Yardley spoke up. "Leave it to me. I’ll go talk to her."

Don’t think a housekeeping-model intelligent robot can’t beat a combat model—especially when on "home" turf.

Faye Yardley paid them no mind and went to the pavilion in the small garden. It was a testament to Eamon’s painstaking effort that the flowers and plants there were still bursting with vigorous Life Force, not wilting in the slightest.

"Eamon, the plants on the raft are really thriving thanks to your care. You’ve taken such good care of every single stalk and blossom."

Eamon wasn’t flustered anymore. Hearing her praise, he chuckled. "I’m just glad you like it, Big Sis. And I’ve really grown a lot here, too."

"Everyone, have a seat. The sun is strong, but the bamboo to the side and the eaves of the pavilion give us a bit of shade." As she spoke, Faye Yardley took several massive rainbow ice creams from her private storage and handed one to each person, including Bella Yardley, who was being dragged over by the ear by Willow Yardley.

As she handed it to her, she added, "Bella, you can have anything you want to eat, but you can’t pick unripe fruits and vegetables."

"I... I know. I promise it won’t happen again."

She’d originally bought the rainbow ice cream back in Serenia with Yvonne Lynch.

The system storage had perfectly preserved the ice cream’s delicious and refreshing chill.

Everyone happily dug in.

The raft’s radar went BEEP BEEP BEEP, warning of an anomaly nearby.

Sure enough, it wasn’t long before they saw a small wooden boat approaching them.

Seeing the huge ice creams in their hands, the person on the boat couldn’t help but gulp.

Faye Yardley hadn’t expected to run into someone so soon after returning to sea from Conch Isle.

She didn’t stop the small boat from approaching. Onboard was a cute little girl, about seven or eight years old, with her hair tied up in two small knots. Her eyes were fixed on the giant ice creams in their hands, and she couldn’t help but gulp again.

After a moment’s thought, Faye Yardley extended an invitation. "Hi there. Want to come aboard for a bit? Maybe have some ice cream?"

The little girl nodded furiously at the offer. Then, with a light tap of her foot on her boat, she shot up onto Goliath and landed in the pavilion.

"I~ want~ some~"

Faye Yardley took one out and handed it to her, then watched as the girl cradled the ice cream and buried her whole face in it.

Bella watched her, snorted, and joined the unspoken competition.

Watching the two of them try to out-eat each other, the others around them subconsciously picked up their pace as well.

When she finished her ice cream, the little girl finally looked up, a huge smile on her face. "Thank you~ I’ve been drifting and drifting on the sea ever since I got here yesterday. I haven’t seen a single soul, and I ran out of all the snacks I brought. I was so, so hungry. I’m so lucky I found you all. Thank you, Big Sister, the ice cream was delicious."

"Oh, right! I’m Brooke, from Planet Nocturne. I’m Master Gideon’s 17th disciple, you know."

Faye Yardley smiled and invited her to sit. "Is one ice cream really enough to fill you up? Would you like something else to eat? We might not have much else, but we definitely have seafood."

"Really? In that case, could I have some of those legendary giant crabs and jumbo shrimp? We don’t have those where I’m from."

"Of course."

Bella asked curiously, "What does Master Gideon do?"

"My master is a weaponsmithing master, famous throughout the galaxy."

"Oh. So what can you do?" Bella thought, ’If she says she’s good at fighting, I’m going to have to challenge her to a proper duel. I can’t believe I lost to her in the ice cream eating contest. So annoying!’

Brooke’s eyes curved into crescents as she smiled. "My master is a weaponsmithing master, so naturally, I am too."

Bella pulled out her long whip. "What do you think of this?"

"Don’t pollute my eyes with that piece of trash."

"Ah! You’re asking for a beating!" Bella was furious.

Brooke, however, turned to look at Faye Yardley. "Big Sister, can I go fight her on the sea?"

Bella also looked at Faye Yardley expectantly. ’Say yes, say yes! I’m going to whip this little brat until she spins like a top!’

"You may, but remember to pull your punches. No life-threatening injuries."

"Okay," they said in unison.

So what does a fight between two little girls look like?

Apparently, it looks like a battle that churns the calm sea into a tumultuous boil, sending fish and shrimp hiding in the depths flying into the air.

The battle was so intense that Cole Kensington, watching from the sidelines, was getting eager to jump in himself.

Eamon, meanwhile, was ceaselessly cheering Bella on.

Through the crashing waves, Faye Yardley could see that Bella’s weapon had already been hacked into several pieces by the sharp blade in Brooke’s hand, rendering it useless. Despite that, Bella’s superb combat skills allowed her to keep the fight evenly matched with Brooke.

Just when they thought the high-intensity battle would continue, the two girls ended up dropping their weapons, grabbing onto each other, and devolving into a tangle of pulling hair and grabbing clothes as they rolled around on the small wooden boat. It had become a pure contest of physical strength.

Eamon was jumping up and down, throwing left and right hooks in the air as he watched and shouted, "Go, Bella, go! Bella, pull her hair knots! Aiyah~ Your foot, use your foot... kick her!"

Faye Yardley glanced at the incredibly excited Eamon, then at Bella and Brooke, who were locked in an inseparable tangle. After a moment of thought, she jumped off the raft, ran over to the edge of the small boat, and said, "Alright, that’s enough for today. Any more and your clothes will be torn to shreds."

"You let go first!"

"No, you let go!"

"You first—"

"..."

Faye Yardley sighed. "I’m going to count to three, and you’re both going to let go at the same time. Otherwise, I’ll have to intervene myself."

She brought them both back to the raft and had Willow Yardley get them cleaned up and into a change of clothes.

"Eamon, if you need a sparring partner to practice, I can fight a round with you," Cole Kensington said, seeing the look of utter disappointment on Eamon’s face that the fight had ended without a clear winner.
