Chapter 1270: Chapter 1270: Crawled Into His Bed

As for the sheets on Lorraine Hughes’ bed that morning, it didn’t matter whether he looked at them or not.

If Lorraine wanted to get involved with him, things like bloodstains could be faked.

If there were no bloodstains, it didn’t mean nothing had happened.

Watt Bennet thought about that day’s events so much that his head hurt. He couldn’t figure out how he coincidentally ran into Lorraine that day.

As Summer Sutton slept, she seemed to have forgotten all the real-world problems and slept soundly in his arms.

Watt was wearing a bathrobe, and his chest was largely exposed.

She probably found it comfortable with her hand on his chest; as Summer Sutton slept, her soft palm even lightly caressed his chest.

She was simply sleep-confused, forgetting where she was, and had no idea Watt was lying next to her.

Her hand continued exploring his chest, and in her drowsy state, Summer Sutton didn’t know what she was touching, so she squeezed it.

Watt’s body stiffened slightly, obviously not expecting her to make such a bold move.

Summer Sutton continued to squeeze here and there over his upper body until she seemed to realize something, and her closed eyes suddenly opened.

There was no light on in the room, just a faint moonlight pouring in.

The winter moonlight, in sync with the outside weather, carried an indescribable chill.

Thanks to the thin halo of light, Summer Sutton clearly saw the person lying next to her.

Realizing the current situation, her mind went blank for a few seconds.

Summer Sutton was extremely embarrassed and startled by the situation, quickly withdrawing her hand and moving her body backward.

She intended to put some distance between herself and Watt, but her quick movements made her forget there was no barrier on the other side of the bed.

As her body lost control and was about to fall onto the carpet, an arm stretched out just in time, pulling her by the waist.

Watt moved so quickly that Summer Sutton didn’t even see how he got there.

In the darkness, she only saw his white bathrobe flash like a beam of light, and then her body fell into his arms.

Watt’s arm hooked around her waist, holding her steady without letting her go.

Lying on his side, he stared at her intently.

Summer Sutton became inexplicably nervous under his gaze.

"I didn’t mean to..." she awkwardly explained herself, "I fell asleep, and somehow my hands just wandered. I don’t even know why I’m on the bed."

She seemed a bit frustrated, racking her brain to figure out how she ended up in his bed.

She distinctly recalled she was sitting on the floor.

Summer Sutton was very adaptable; her plan for that night was either to sleep on the sofa or, if he didn’t let her on the sofa, to sleep on the floor.

Watt was still looking at her, his deep, dark eyes capturing her flustered state.

Summer Sutton felt uncomfortable under his gaze, her heart racing.

She didn’t understand what he intended to do.

"Can you let go of me?" She braced her hand against his chest, giving him a little push.

Watt, however, seemed not to hear her, still holding her.

As if he guessed her confusion, he calmly said, "I carried you to bed."

Summer Sutton was shocked, her face suddenly lifted, looking at him with incredulity.

"I originally had no intention of doing anything with you." Slowly, he added another sentence.
