Chapter 1273: Wanting to Return HomeChapter 1273: Chapter 1273: Wanting to Return Home
Summer Sutton slept for as long, and Watt Bennet watched her for just as long.
"I’ve ordered dinner. The waiter will bring it up shortly. Let’s have dinner before you head back!" As she opened her eyes, Watt casually suggested and picked up his phone to handle work affairs.
His proposal was simply a passing remark.
He thought that with Summer Sutton’s personality, she would have directly left.
But Summer, perhaps because she had slept for too long and hadn’t eaten anything, found herself too hungry and weak, so she didn’t refuse his request.
After a simple wash in the bathroom downstairs, she turned to the balcony to gaze at the hotel’s night view.
Watt turned his face slightly to look at her, surprised by her behavior.
Summer didn’t offer any explanation for her staying, and when dinner arrived, she sat quietly at the small table on the balcony and started eating with her knife and fork.
She seemed to have a good appetite today, with none of the restraint she showed yesterday facing Watt Bennet. Holding the knife in her left hand and the fork in her right, she seemed to thoroughly enjoy her meal.
Watt Bennet’s gaze fell on her face as he watched her for a while, unable to decipher her.
Upon thinking it over, he felt Summer Sutton was indeed very hungry, only willing to spend a little more time with him because of that.
Did this woman have proper meals abroad?
Summer Sutton remained quietly focused on her meal.
She ate intently, seemingly forgetting the nighttime cab scarcity around Watt Bennet’s place.
After finishing dinner, it was already ten o’clock.
The bus back to downtown had long ceased service.
Getting a taxi was tough too, unless by chance encountering a guest arriving at the hotel by taxi while she waited outside.
However, after dinner, Summer Sutton waited for over an hour outside the hotel but didn’t catch any cab.
Thus, the two ended up spending another night together.
Watt Bennet naturally welcomed this outcome, feeling in an excellent mood as he watched Summer Sutton sleep beside him.
The only discomfort came from Summer Sutton not suffering insomnia tonight, even sleeping soundly.
She slept through the night and woke up quite early the next morning.
With her waking meant another departure for them.
How long this separation would last remained unknown.
Looking at her washing up in the bathroom, Watt Bennet felt decidedly uneasy.
Summer Sutton appeared unaffected, with no trace of reluctance over parting visible as she walked out the door, saying, "I have to go now. Thanks, Mr. Bennet, for these two nights."
She left freely without a hint of looking back.
This behavior left Watt Bennet feeling frustrated for a long time.
Watt Bennet had originally come to see her.
Since he already met Summer Sutton, there was no reason for him to stay here now. As soon as Summer left the hotel, he followed by checking out and buying a ticket to head to the airport.
...
Upon returning, Summer Sutton didn’t go to the company; instead, she directly arranged to meet Manuel Ink.
They met at a coffee shop; her initiative in arranging the meeting left Manuel somewhat surprised.
"What’s the matter? Did you encounter some problem?" Manuel asked suspiciously as he sat down on the chair opposite her.
Summer Sutton shook her head, her gaze carrying a look of earnest request, "Manuel, I’ve thought about it a lot, and I feel the domestic environment suits me better. Having grown up here, nothing should make me lay aside the familiar environment from childhood exclusively for settling abroad. If I return, could you let me continue at Royal Delight?"
