Chapter 1278: Chapter 1278: Long Time No See, Missing You So Much (4)

As a newcomer who hasn’t been in society for long, tonight marks the first time Summer Sutton received such a significant sponsorship, and she couldn’t hide her excitement.

Watt Bennet and President Johnson were chatting, and out of the corner of his eye, Watt glanced in her direction. Seeing the joy on her face, his lips curled slightly.

He hadn’t seen her smile in a long time.

In his memory, she hadn’t smiled since they had their conflict, right?

Although tonight’s smile was due to her professional achievement, Watt didn’t mind.

As long as he could see her smile again, it didn’t matter why, it reassured him.

In other aspects, he might not be able to help, but in her career, he could be the towering tree she could lean on.

Summer was very happy, and then she continued eating with her head lowered.

Although Watt didn’t say anything about the sponsorship, Summer guessed that President Johnson’s willingness to agree was probably because of his relationship with Watt Bennet.

Watt hadn’t been drinking, maybe because of the sponsorship issue, and then he had a few more drinks with President Johnson.

Summer sat beside him, counting the drinks he downed.

She knew he wouldn’t get drunk easily, but even being tipsy was unacceptable.

If he got drunk, Summer had a hunch that she would find herself in a difficult situation later.

When Watt drank his seventh glass, Summer couldn’t help but interrupt him, "Stop drinking, you still have to drive!"

Watt paused, looked at her, and replied casually, "Do you think I can drive in this state?"

Summer was at a loss for words.

Yeah, he’d already had so many drinks, driving certainly wasn’t an option.

Watt didn’t take her words seriously and turned back to drink with President Johnson again.

By the end of the meal, he’d had a total of nine drinks.

President Johnson seemed to know a lot about Summer and Watt’s relationship, and as they were leaving the restaurant, he instructed Summer, "Little Sutton, you know Mr. Bennet well, so you can take him home tonight!"

Summer, "..."

She knew this would be the outcome.

The sponsor of three billion had spoken, and Summer had no option to refuse.

Feeling helpless and reluctant, she nonetheless had to support Watt as they made their way out of the restaurant.

President Johnson, who was half drunk himself, called his wife to pick him up, so there was no way he could take Watt home.

Everyone else at the table had also been drinking, and Summer was the only one who hadn’t.

Though Summer wouldn’t admit to her relationship with Watt now, in everyone else’s eyes, they were a couple who had already held a wedding.

Even if the last wedding ended up a mess.

Supporting Watt as they walked out of the restaurant, Summer reflected on the night’s events.

Nine glasses honestly didn’t mean much to Watt.

His mind was completely clear, but he deliberately walked in a staggered manner, his body nearly leaning entirely on Summer.

"Can’t you drive yourself home?" Summer asked as they walked.

"No." Watt replied bluntly, "Do you want me to get caught by the police later?"

Summer, "..."

"My head hurts." Watt rubbed his forehead, pressing more of his weight onto her.

Summer instinctively tried to dodge, but couldn’t avoid him.

Watt lazily leaned on her as he walked, glancing at her face that was so close, and he gently curled his lips into another smile.
