Chapter 1291: Chapter 1291: Thinking Too Much
The elevator was crowded, and Summer Sutton intended to keep some distance from Watt Bennet after entering. However, the woman standing beside her suddenly pushed her.
A woman who looked about 160 pounds pushed her directly into Watt Bennet’s body.
Summer Sutton’s face turned a bit unnatural and slightly flushed.
Watt Bennet turned slightly, silently observing her. Seeing her slightly red cheeks, he smirked happily.
He thick-skinnedly followed her upstairs, not necessarily to do anything, but just being close to her and seeing her blush like a little girl was also nice.
The elevator slowly ascended.
When they reached the floor where Summer Sutton lived, she opened the door, and Watt Bennet entered the apartment before her.
He never felt constrained in her space.
Upon entering, he tossed his coat onto the sofa, found the direction of the bathroom, and went for a shower as if it were his own home.
After a flurry of water splashing from inside, he emerged wearing her towel.
He didn’t have clothes here, so he had to use Summer Sutton’s.
Despite the cold winter, hardly wrapped in anything, he didn’t feel cold.
However, Summer Sutton couldn’t stand it, throwing a bedsheet at him, "Put it on!"
"I’m not cold." Watt Bennet tried to remove the sheet, but Summer stubbornly pressed down on his hand, stopping his action.
The gesture made Watt Bennet pause in surprise.
Turning his face slightly to look at her, he raised an eyebrow lightly, "Could Miss Sutton be shy?"
Summer Sutton seemed choked by his words, looking elsewhere, she replied indifferently, "You’re overthinking it."
"There you have it," Watt Bennet scoffed. Despite being dismissive of her behavior, he didn’t pull the sheet off.
Wrapped in the sheet, sitting on the sofa, while drying his hair, he began observing her here.
Summer Sutton’s place was truly small; the bed was less than 1.2 meters wide and the furnishings were simple, all in a fresh minimalist style. Aside from her, nothing was of value.
Seeing this, Watt Bennet felt somewhat relieved, yet simultaneously a bit pained.
The relief was that Summer Sutton, living in such an environment, clearly hadn’t accepted Manuel Ink’s help.
In her heart, perhaps she always clearly distinguished between those she loved and didn’t love?
The pain was that, returning to his side, they obviously had so many luxurious homes to live in, she could comfortably be the Young Madam, with everything at her service, yet she chose such a place instead.
She didn’t feel wronged; it was Watt who felt pained.
After scrutinizing her room for a short while, Watt said nothing aloud, but silently planned many things in his heart.
With his presence at her place, Summer Sutton felt uncomfortable all over.
Yet she knew well Watt Bennet’s temperament.
If he decided to stay and didn’t want to leave, there was no way she could make him go.
Summer Sutton couldn’t do anything about him, eventually deciding to act as if he wasn’t there, and went on to wash up.
After showering in the bathroom, she came out wrapped tightly.
"I’ve only got the sofa and the bed here, you sleep on the sofa." Tossing him a sentence, without intending to engage further, Summer Sutton slipped into her bed.
Sleeping on the sofa it was then!
If it ultimately meant reconciliation between them, Watt Bennet didn’t care how many nights he had to sleep on the sofa.
Tonight, he readily lay on the sofa, crossing his legs, glancing sideways at Summer Sutton.
"Can you sleep?" he tried to strike up a conversation with her.
Summer Sutton lay quietly with her eyes closed, ignoring him.
