Chapter 1348 - 1448: Be My Princess Consort (3)Chapter 1348: Chapter 1448: Be My Princess Consort (3)
The hope that had just kindled in Summer Sutton’s heart, like a bubble rising into the sky, instantly burst into nothingness.
She felt a bit disappointed, but being with Manuel Ink, Summer actually still felt secure.
This was the feeling she always got from Manuel Ink; he never caused her to worry about anything or disappointed her.
Summer knew that perhaps something had been troubling Manuel Ink recently, although she didn’t know what exactly, she believed that once this period passed, things might get better.
At most, she would spend a few more days on this island.
Without dwelling too much on this issue, Summer quietly began to eat the food on her plate.
Manuel Ink was different from Ryan Walyon; when Summer was alone with Manuel, she never felt any pressure or a sense of crisis.
The man in front of her always gave her a complete sense of reassurance and trust.
Even knowing that her disappearance was related to the Ink Family.
Summer continued eating the meat on her plate with large bites. After being here for so many days, today her appetite was surprisingly the best.
Seeing her like this seemed to surprise Manuel Ink.
Stopping his dining movements, Manuel Ink’s gaze lingered on her face for quite a while, staring at her for nearly half an hour, he suddenly blurted out, "Aren’t you afraid, coming here?"
"Afraid? Before, when I didn’t know who took me, I was scared for the first ten days, but not anymore, aren’t you here too?" Summer lifted her face to glance at him and replied matter-of-factly.
Her words once again stunned Manuel Ink.
Was she really so assured of him?
"Summer..." Stirring the food on his plate in a restless mood, his tone was half-joking, half-serious, "Aren’t you afraid I might have some agenda with you?"
"Would you?" Summer didn’t directly answer his question but instead asked back.
This question, instead, rendered Manuel Ink silent.
Summer seemed to take his question lightly, bowed her head, and continued eating the food on her plate.
The dinner prepared by Manuel Ink was quite sumptuous; the two-meter-long dining table was filled with various French cuisines. Manuel barely ate, with most of the food finished by Summer.
With her stomach full, Summer comfortably stretched and stood up.
Walking out alone, she began to explore the garden, "It’s actually quite beautiful here, but before this, I never took the time to appreciate it seriously."
"Do you like it?" Manuel Ink followed her out, his gaze deep as he looked at her.
"There are many places I like." Summer answered somewhat cleverly.
"Is that so?" Manuel Ink echoed, casually picking a flower along the path and examined it.
The small path they were on was a long flower path, lined with pure white, fragrant roses. The flowers were beautiful. From Summer’s limited knowledge of roses, this type of flower seemed to be commonly used in bridal bouquets.
Manuel Ink, engrossed in his own world, picked flowers, collecting nine to make into a bouquet, which he picked up and looked at.
"These flowers are called the Wedding Road, commonly seen in weddings. Actually, this type of flower wasn’t on Glara Island before; it was only a few days ago that Grandfather had these floral paths planted." While admiring them, he began to explain to Summer.
His words left Summer momentarily stunned.
Inexplicably, she suddenly had a bad premonition.
