Seducing the Guideverse With My System — Raising an Anomaly [BL]
Chapter 319: _Someone’s Going To Ask Impossible QuestionsDowntown Aurelia
"What the... what just happened?"
Alisha, Magnus and the other Hunters had just been about to launch a devastating wave of attacks against the zombies heading for them.
The Guild master’s body had lit up with flames while she readied her headphones.
But before they could strike—
—Everything changed.
Literally.
The once crimson sky rippled, shifting back to a clear late afternoon. The zombies froze... then they shifted back into normal, disoriented humans.
Corpses of those who died rose, gasping and wondering what the hell happened.
Magnus took a step back, his forehead crumpling. "What kind of illusion is this?"
"Sir," Trina, who was on her phone, murmured. "It’s... it’s not an illusion." She turned the screen to Alisha and the Guild master.
On it was a post on Instagram made literal seconds ago from a verified account, alongside a picture of the sky.
"EVERYONE LOOK OUTSIDE! NO, THIS ISN’T AI."
She scrolled to more posts, showing pictures and video clips from all around the world. Zombies collapsing only to rasp for air, their rotting flesh and feral eyes shifting back to normal.
There was a video of a teenage girl crying as she embraced her mother who was killed during the plague—now brought back to life, completely unharmed.
Another video showed a soldier who’d once been a zombie narrating how he felt and how he couldn’t remember what happened after he was turned.
Only... hunger.
"H-How’s this possible?" Alisha shook her head. "I can get the zombies turning back to normal somehow. But... killed victims coming back to life? T-The sky? What the hell is going on?"
Guild Master Magnus didn’t answer.
His phone rang, forcing him to pull away from the group. "Get those civilians out of the road." He gestured once before calling someone.
Josiah.
Before he clicked on the Federation President’s contact, a text from Irina came through:
"Are you seeing the news, Magnus? What’s the update with our team?"
He swiped past it, switching to the call with Josiah. "Have you—"
"Every other Federation around the world is reporting the same thing." Josiah mumbled the second he picked up. "It’s almost as if... it was all..."
Magnus’ head arched to the clear skies.
"... A dream."

Pantheon Base
Apollo stood before a wall with multiple holographic screens showing live satellite footage from all over the world. His eyes drifted from the streets of New York to the busy roads of Lagos.
All these footages showed him the same thing that he still struggled to believe.
"Kali." He muttered, glancing over his shoulder. "Have you seen—"
"I have projections gathering info from all around the globe." The sound of the triple S-rank’s footsteps echoed through the hollow hall. "It’s real. It’s almost as if reality corrected itself."
"Almost?" The god of light shook his head. "So what does this mean? Everything the world went through for over an hour was an illusion?"
"No." Kali folded her arms across her chest. "It was all real."
"But... but how?" Apollo blinked repeatedly. "Kali, not even Loki’s illusions can have such drastic effects. This... What could be behind this? And how powerful is it? Extinction Level?"
Kali’s nostrils flared.
Her gaze wandered to the holographic screens, lingering there for a beat.
"Something tells me this isn’t a ’what’." She said at last. "It’s a who."

Hale-Ferguson Residence
"Oh, gods," Wukong grunted, settling on a rock outside the gates. He buried his face in a palm, panting through gritted teeth. "I-I was almost lost. What the fuck happened?"
"You got bitten, you idiot." Loki eyed the monkey king with pure disdain.
The lord of chaos, Valentine and Gabriel stood to the side while Yemoja stayed closer to Wukong.
Wukong blinked at them. "I’m not even asking about that."
Loki frowned. "Then what are you asking?"
The Monkey King pointed toward the now peaceful streets.
"The zombies." His brows knitted together. "Why the heck are they gone?" He slowly looked upward. "And why’s the sky back to normal?"
Only then did Loki follow his gaze.
The crimson clouds had vanished completely, replaced by an ordinary blue evening sky. Birds chirped somewhere in the distance while the surviving civilians cautiously emerged from hiding, looking around in bewilderment.
"Huh." Even they hadn’t noticed.
Wukong turned toward Yemoja. "Did the others already figure out whatever caused all this?"
The water goddess opened her mouth... but her phone vibrated, forcing her to glance down.
It was a text from Apollo.
"Return to the Pantheon Base immediately. Emergency debriefing. Please grab Loki too."
Her expression sharpened. "Apollo wants us for a meeting."
She slipped the phone away before turning toward Loki, studying them for a long second.
"What exactly did you come here to do anyway?" Her eyes drifted toward the Hale-Ferguson residence. "This is Ambrose Hale’s house, isn’t it?"
Loki’s heartbeat skipped. "Maybe."
Yemoja sighed. "I’ll pretend I didn’t hear that."
Before she could ask another question, Loki clapped once, drawing everyone’s attention.
"Valentine. Gabriel?"
The Necromancer and space god looked over as they continued.
"Stick with Ambrose for now."
Neither questioned it.
They simply exchanged a glance before nodding once.
Without another word, Loki’s body dissolved into hundreds of black feathers. A raven burst from the swirling cloud, circling once above the street before shooting toward the distant horizon.
"Show-off." Wukong muttered.
Yemoja ignored him, summoning a current of water beneath her feet. "Come."
The Monkey King groaned as he climbed upright. "I was hoping to nap."
"Ugh, quit whining if you don’t want me to throw you off."
"Alright, alright. Sorry."
A crack of lightning swallowed the pair.
Seconds later... They were gone.
Silence settled outside the residence.
Gabriel remained staring after the place they’d disappeared from.
Valentine noticed his silence. "What is it?"
Gabriel didn’t answer immediately. Instead, he slowly turned toward the house behind them.
"Orion imagined the world back to normal," He paused. "And apparently restored reality."
Valentine nodded once. "Yeah. It seems so."
Gabriel swallowed. "But he didn’t erase everyone’s memories."
Realisation dawned across the Necromancer’s face.
Neither man spoke again, because they both understood exactly what that meant.
Sooner or later, someone out there was going to start asking impossible questions.
