Seducing the Guideverse With My System — Raising an Anomaly [BL]
Chapter 386: _Halfway There"Megara!" Keylath screamed when she followed Beherath’s gaze and saw the lifeless body of her trusted maid. "No. No, no... the girls!"
The crowd parted the second she spun around and darted into the city.
Ambrose turned as well, the iciness in his gaze chilling enough to freeze the entire city and beyond over. His jaw clenched as he watched the Orc woman crumble to her knees, touching her maid’s body for any signs of life.
’My lord.’ Beherath, who still had Kharzug on one knee, spoke through the Necrotic link. ’My daughters... it must’ve been Kharzug’s men. They—’
’Finish the Rite, Beherath.’ Huge feathered white wings erupted out of Ambrose’s back, forcing the Elders and warriors around him to take several steps back. ’I’ll handle this. And if anyone does anything funny again... kill them after killing their king.’
With one thunderous beat, he exploded into the air, blue flames rocketing out of his boots for added speed.
Meanwhile, Beherath’s crimson eyes focused again on Kharzug.
The king of the Veragax tribe laughed, his fingers trembling around the hilt of his blade.
"What?" He spat in orcish. "You sent your little human friend to go do what now, Beherath? You see, I—"
His words died when Beherath’s hand shot forward, seizing him by the throat. His halberd and Kharzug’s blade fell to the ground with a heavy, metallic clang as he lifted the coward into the air.
Pure rage ignited Kharzug’s eyes. "Y-You think this means you’ve won?" He barked a mocking laugh. "Look around. Your people rejected you years ago. Your name is a stain on the Mordak tribe. The king who became... a... human’s..."
Beherath’s fingers tightened the more he tried squeezing out words until it became impossible.
Kharzug thrashed, sending a punch to Beherath’s face.
BOOOMMM!
The resulting explosion of force only made the S-Rank undead’s head tilt to the side by a couple of inches. His jaw worked, tusks grinding.
"Oh, Kharzug," He murmured, adding even more pressure to his hold on his neck. "Today you’ll come to realise who among us becomes a stain in history..."
[There they are.]
’Yeah.’ Ambrose scoffed, darting through the clouds hundreds of meters away.
Far below, a few elite warriors from the Veragax tribe rode their mounts, one of them holding two young orcs with one arm around them.
He knew they were ’elite’ because of the higher-grade weapons they wielded.
[The Orcs are all at the pinnacle of B-Rank. In other words—]
’The only thing I have to worry about is getting the girls out of there safely.’ A dark blue light flashed in his eyes. ’And I’ve already got a plan...’
Space rippled around the moving orcs.
Their mounts roared in confusion, a few slowing down.
That moment of disorientation let Ambrose focus enough to teleport the girls away from them. They reappeared several meters away—on the back of his summoned Fox beast.
’Splendid.’ He grinned. ’Now... as for you naughty boys...’
He flicked his wrist.
Just when the orc warriors began questioning what exactly was happening, the shadows beneath their mounts elongated unnaturally.
Tens of the undead orcs from Ambrose’s army emerged, holding ghostly weapons and carrying that familiar, overwhelming pressure that came with undeath.
Terror washed over the faces of the Veragax warriors.
One of them barely had enough time to raise his axe before an undead orc cleaved clean through both weapon and rider in a single swing.
Crimson blood sprayed across the volcanic earth as another mount shrieked, rearing onto its hind legs while skeletal fingers burst out from beneath the ground and dragged it screaming into the shadows.
The remaining elites reacted almost instantly.
"Protect the princesses!"
Too late.
The fox beast carrying Beherath’s daughters had already bounded another dozen meters away, its pitch-black fur flashing between jagged obsidian rocks with impossible speed.
One of the girls looked back over her shoulder, clutching tightly to the creature’s neck while tears streamed freely down her cheeks.
"Mother..." She whimpered.
Ambrose exhaled.
Good.
They were frightened but alive. That was all that mattered.
"Well then." Blue flames rolled lazily around his fingers as he descended toward the battlefield below. "Let’s make this quick."
The Veragax captain roared, veins bulging beneath his green skin as he launched himself into the air. His greataxe carved downward with enough force to split a hill in half.
It never reached Ambrose.
A translucent spatial crack bloomed between them, the axe disappearing into it.
A second fracture opened directly behind the captain, his own weapon hurtling back out.
SCHLK!
The massive blade buried itself straight through his shoulder, carrying him into the ground with a deafening crash.
The surviving warriors froze.
None of them had understood what had just happened.
Ambrose smiled pleasantly. "Spatial abilities are funny like that."
He snapped his fingers.
The undead answered.
Like starving wolves finally released from their chains, Beherath’s former soldiers surged forward without mercy. Ghostly blades flashed through the smoke while panicked cries echoed across the wasteland, every clash lasting only moments before another Veragax warrior collapsed beneath overwhelming numbers.
It wasn’t a battle.
It was an execution.
Within less than a minute, silence reclaimed the valley.
Ambrose drifted back to the ground, blue flames slowly fading from around his boots as the undead army stood perfectly still behind him, awaiting further orders.
His eyes shifted toward the two trembling girls.
The older of the sisters hesitated before slowly stepping away from the fox beast.
"You," Her small voice quivered despite the courage she tried to muster. "You’re Father’s... human?"
Ambrose blinked a couple of times before a genuine laugh left him.
"I suppose that’s one way of putting it."
She studied him for another long second before lowering her head. "Thank... you."
Something inside Ambrose softened.
He reached out, gently patting the little orc on the head despite the obvious height difference.
"Come on." He smiled. "Let’s take you home."

By the time they returned, the duel had already ended.
Kharzug’s enormous body lay motionless in the shattered remains of the battlefield, his lifeless eyes forever fixed upon the smoke-filled sky. His broken blade rested several meters away while Beherath stood over him, halberd planted firmly into the earth beneath one massive hand.
Not a single Veragax warrior remained standing.
The surviving invaders had long since thrown down their weapons.
Yet... No one spoke.
Hundreds of Mordak citizens simply stared at the undead king.
Waiting and wondering all at once.
Unsure whether they were looking upon their rightful ruler... or something that merely wore his face.
Then two small figures broke free from the crowd.
"Father!"
Beherath’s daughters threw themselves against his legs without hesitation, sobbing into the black armour wrapped around his shins.
The undead king stiffened.
Slowly, he rested one enormous hand atop each of their heads.
Around them, the silence finally shattered.
One elderly orc dropped to his knees.
Then another orc followed. Then another.
Until the entire valley echoed with the sound of hundreds kneeling before their king.
A translucent blue screen flickered into existence before Ambrose’s eyes.

A small smile tugged at the corner of his lips.
"Halfway there. Not bad."
