’What the hell are these people doing!’

Under the massive surgical light, Jiang Li watched as they began a procedure that resembled harvesting a monkey’s brain. As she saw what was inside, her whole body began to tremble, and a wave of nausea washed over her.

Even after witnessing this so many times, she still couldn’t face it directly.

Jiang Li tried her best to calm her emotions, to avoid a repeat of what happened with Ji Yan.

Fortunately, after they finished with one child, the people moved on to a new target, and her gaze followed.

This place was similar to the one she’d been in before, yet it was also different.

The sanatorium had been mental torture, but it would be no exaggeration to call this place Purgatory.

As her gaze swept across the area, she even saw someone who had died from excessive blood drawing, their vital areas marked with an X.

She was only halfway across the room when the phone in her pocket began to ring.

"We need another healthy woman, preferably one who can bear children."

Jiang Li listened to the voice on the other end. It sounded familiar, as if she’d heard it somewhere before.

"Yes, yes, yes. Don’t you worry about that. I guarantee you’ll be satisfied."

After saying that, she hung up the phone, then pushed open an iron door. The people inside saw her and cowered in a corner, terrified.

Her eyes scanned back and forth between the few people before she strode forward, grabbed one of the women by the hair, and began dragging her outside.

"AHHHHHH!" The woman’s hoarse screams rang out as her brutally clipped, bloody fingernails dug into her captor’s hand.

A sharp pain lanced through her hand, and she instinctively backhanded the woman across the face, who finally fell silent.

"What’s all the screaming about? I’m sending you off to a better life!"

The woman was dragged over to another man. She ordered, "Here, take her to the big boss."

In the moment the woman turned back, Jiang Li got a rough look at the surroundings. It had the appearance of a factory.

It was dark all around, with sweeping searchlights and an electric fence.

Jiang Li suddenly felt a sense of uncertainty. She had no idea if this was even happening within the country.

A man chewing betel nut held an iron rod, banging it around. The noises from inside instantly quieted.

Suddenly, someone burst out from inside, but with lightning-fast reflexes, she grabbed them and slammed them against the wall.

The few people chasing from behind immediately stopped in their tracks.

She threw the person to them. "Take them back and teach them a lesson."

The woman who had run out was then dragged into a small dark room by the group, followed by the sound of utterly horrific screams.

Jiang Li jolted awake in her bed. She turned on the light and found her art supplies.

KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK. "Sis, time for dinner." Yu Huannian’s voice came from the doorway.

"You guys go ahead. I’ll come out and eat when I’m done."

Jiang Li didn’t want to break her train of thought.

Seeing this, Yu Huannian turned and left.

In the afternoon, Jiang Li stared at the sketches on her tablet. She’d already lost count of how many versions she’d gone through. The images of the men and women she’d seen, as well as the building, had all been revised to be as close as possible to what she had witnessed.

Once she was done, she sent the most accurate sketches to Ji Qinghe, and only then did she get up to eat.

After a quick meal, she rushed over to the police station.

The moment Ji Qinghe received Jiang Li’s sketches, she had her people start investigating.

By the time Jiang Li arrived, they had already found information on a few of them.

"Ma Xiaona is on the missing persons list. She disappeared from Xiang City three months ago.

"This man, Jiang Zhiqiang, is the owner of a feed factory."

Ji Qinghe said, pointing at the sketch and a photo of a man.

Jiang Li looked at the man’s photo and nodded seriously. "Yes, that’s them."

"Jiang Li, what exactly happened?"

Ji Qinghe looked at her. Jiang Li had only sent her the sketches earlier without any other explanation.

Jiang Li told them about what she saw in her dream, then looked at them seriously. "I suspect this might be connected to those previous car accident cases."

Lu Xingye nodded in agreement. They’d had their suspicions before, but he hadn’t expected new information to surface so quickly.

"But I don’t know if it’s in the country," Jiang Li said, looking at them. "If it’s overseas, this will be much more difficult."

Ji Qinghe’s expression was grim. "No matter where it is, we can’t let them get away with it. I just don’t know if we have an undercover agent on the inside."

Previously, Lu Xingchen had gone on an undercover mission that had been successfully completed thanks to Jiang Li.

Ji Qinghe looked at the sketch Jiang Li had drawn of the compound. "I’ll contact the other police departments."

"Officer Ji, there’s something else important. Could you ask your contacts in City A? I suspect Ivan and his people never went back."

Jiang Li told her about the part of the vision where they demanded a woman.

Zhou Tiancheng shot to his feet. "I’ll contact Zheng Qichuan."

Jiang Li nodded, sitting and gazing at the photos in front of her. ’If it’s within the country, this will be much easier to handle.’

Zhou Tiancheng called Zheng Qichuan to ask about the situation on his end. After learning that Ivan had indeed not returned, he relayed Jiang Li’s suspicions to him.
