With a single jab, his finger moved with a wild, unrestrained grace, striking the center of Yu Huang’s palm at an impossible speed.

Piercing the surface with a single point!

Yu Huang felt a sharp pain in his palm. The force from his strike—enough to pulverize a ten-meter boulder—was shattered by Zhao Xuanqi’s single finger. His own power dissipated in an instant, like air rushing from a punctured balloon.

THUMP, THUMP, THUMP!

He staggered back several steps. A distinct red dot had appeared on his palm, and it rapidly swelled and spread until half his hand was a sickening shade of black and blue—the result of ruptured blood vessels and muscle, now pooling with blood.

Worse, he could clearly feel that the bones in his hand, bones as hard as steel, had actually fractured from the blow.

What?!

Yu Huang’s rugged face was a mask of utter shock. In a single exchange, his technique had been shattered and he’d been injured!

Then, he watched as Zhao Xuanqi’s transformed arm swiftly retracted, returning to its normal size as if the change had been nothing but an illusion.

’The ability to transform one’s body like that...’

A cold sweat broke out down Yu Huang’s back.

"A magnificent Finger Technique. Focusing all your force into a single point to break a thousand techniques... Allow me to test your skill!"

As another voice rang out, a figure shot forward.

It was Ruan Daohua of the Dian Nan Three Section Sect.

His build wasn’t particularly robust; in fact, he looked somewhat gaunt, and he projected a very strange spiritual aura.

A black dot seemed to float in the empty air around him, like a miniature black hole. Wherever one’s spiritual gaze or Eye Power landed, it felt as if it would be swallowed by this vortex and utterly annihilated.

The man’s Body Technique was incredibly bizarre. As he flickered in and out of view, the black dot in the void would superimpose itself over his body, swallowing any spiritual intent directed at him. Ordinary masters would find it impossible to lock onto his position with their Qi or intuition. This, combined with his strange Body Technique and Stepping Technique, disoriented an opponent’s vision, making him seem less like a person and more like an erratic phantom.

In a duel between masters, one must instantly perceive killing intent and react accordingly.

Once that perception is clouded, one’s reactions slow, and the advantage is lost at every turn.

In a flash, Ruan Daohua appeared at Zhao Xuanqi’s side. At the same instant, that point of blackness in the void suddenly bloomed, completely shrouding Ruan Daohua’s form.

For an instant, although he was still physically present, to any observer he might as well have vanished completely.

Simultaneously, the man raised a single finger and jabbed it toward the Chest Acupoint on Zhao Xuanqi’s chest.

A strike to the Chest Acupoint makes it impossible to gather Qi, rendering a person powerless to fight.

This technique, combined with his eerie aura, was completely untraceable. It could almost kill an enemy invisibly, as if it were some form of Evil Magic.

Intercept Technique! Intercept Force! Intercept Intent!

These are the three realms of the Three-Section Finger, as taught by the Three Section Sect.

This Martial Arts Secret Transmission prioritizes reactive counters; its methods are extremely potent. The first stage is to practice intercepting techniques, allowing one to see and break an opponent’s moves during an exchange and enabling the weak to overcome the strong. The next stage involves understanding the force application of a hundred different schools, allowing one to intercept an opponent’s Force Release with a single finger, completely neutralizing their attack before it can even form.

The highest level, however, is Intercepting Intent.

It is a mastery of spiritual will used to confuse the senses, bewilder the mind, and cloud intuition. It can even directly devour an opponent’s martial intent, restricting their every action. It is a power almost akin to Divine Techniques or Magic.

Even Ruan Daohua had not completely mastered this highest realm. Because he had not yet reached the realm of Harmony, he could not truly use his intent to sever an enemy’s will and subdue them without a fight.

However, he was capable of using his Spiritual Power to create bewilderment, making his techniques exceptionally bizarre and incredibly difficult to counter!

His finger jabbed forward, about to strike Zhao Xuanqi’s chest, yet Zhao Xuanqi remained completely motionless.

TAP!

With a soft sound, he felt his fingertip make contact. He had struck Zhao Xuanqi’s Chest Acupoint. However, he felt no transference of force, as if he had just jabbed his finger into a ball of cotton.

’What is this...?’

His pupils constricted as he saw with perfect clarity that Zhao Xuanqi’s entire chest had caved inward to a ridiculously exaggerated degree, almost as if there were a giant gaping hole in his torso.

It was this unbelievable physical contortion that had completely dissipated his force, preventing it from having any real impact.

WHOOSH!

A whistling wind cut through the air as a terrifying shadow descended upon him, as if the very sky were collapsing.

A massive, transformed hand descended from above, pressing down with immense pressure.

The hairs on Ruan Daohua’s body instantly stood on end. A terrifying Gang Qi washed over him, threatening to freeze him in place like a fly in amber.

HAH!

He roared as his Qi and Blood surged and his spirit flared. The black dot in the void expanded once more, shrouding his body as he attempted to obscure all perception of his being and escape using the Golden Cicada Shell technique.

At that moment, however, he suddenly felt something and his gaze locked with Zhao Xuanqi’s.

He thought he saw a flash of silver light in Zhao Xuanqi’s eyes.

ROAR!

The sound of a ferocious roar flooded his mind. The black void enveloping him instantly shattered as his spiritual aura was torn apart by the might of Zhao Xuanqi’s Qilin-like presence.

The Qilin, a creature of auspicious fortune! A Holy Beast of the heavens, capable of vanquishing all manner of ghosts and evil spirits!

As the palm descended, Ruan Daohua found he could not escape. He was locked in place by Zhao Xuanqi’s Qi, left with no choice but to raise his hands and meet the attack head-on.

BAM!

The force of the impact exploded outward, cracking the ground beneath his feet. But he was a master, after all. His body twisted, using force to redirect force, changing the vector of the attack from a direct downward blow to one that sent him flying diagonally backward. This reduced the destructive power of the strike, but as he shot back, he still felt a violent vibration rattle his entire skeleton, as if he were about to fall apart.

He snapped his head up, his eyes, fixed on Zhao Xuanqi, filled with utter disbelief.

For a moment, the scene was utterly silent. No one spoke. The other three masters remained frozen in place.

During their time gathered together, the five of them had naturally exchanged pointers and sparred, so they had a very clear understanding of each other’s strength.

The five of them were all evenly matched. If it wasn’t a life-or-death battle, it would be difficult to determine a clear winner even after dozens or even hundreds of rounds.

It had been the same with Zhao Yuan and Xiang Ji. When they had all met and sparred, those two had not been defeated either, merely pushed to a slight disadvantage during the exchange.

And yet now, in this "friendly" exchange, Yu Huang and Ruan Daohua had both used their signature skills. They hadn’t held back in the slightest; one could say they had gone all out, short of using techniques meant to kill. But in a single move, both had been repelled by Zhao Xuanqi and forced into a completely disadvantageous position.

They could all foresee that if Zhao Xuanqi pressed his advantage now, both men would be defeated within ten or twenty rounds. Death was even a possibility. They might not even have a chance to escape.

And this, it seemed, wasn’t even Zhao Xuanqi’s true strength.

The way they all looked at Zhao Xuanqi had completely changed. The figure before them, who leaked no hint of an aura and seemed like an ordinary young man, now appeared impossibly tall and radiated an immense, suffocating pressure.

The mysterious and the unknown are the most terrifying things of all.

He was unfathomable!

’Is this the power of the number one martial artist from the conference?!’

’No, that can’t be right. Even if he defeated Hong Luan of the Vermilion Bird Sect and single-handedly repelled the successors of both the Beidou and Shenxiao sects, his strength shouldn’t have reached such a terrifying level.’

Inside the pavilion behind them, it was much the same. The Three Elders and the others stared at Zhao Xuanqi’s figure, rendered almost speechless.

’After just one week of seclusion, just what level has his power reached?’

If one were to say that Zhao Xuanqi’s Martial Dao was previously something tangible—seen in his every move and technique, his Force Generation and Application, his physical transformations, and his circulation of Qi and Blood...

...then now, it had become formless. His every action was natural and spontaneous, wild and unrestrained, impossible to grasp or predict.

"Sir, your Martial Dao has surpassed our wildest imaginations. We consider ourselves to be but a hair’s breadth away from the realm of Harmony, so why is the gap between us and you so immense? Could it be that your Martial Dao has already reached the realm of Unity of Understanding, a state of effortless transformation?"

It was Lv Mingsheng of the South Sea’s Bichao Sect, one of the five masters, who spoke, his tone deeply respectful.

The power Zhao Xuanqi had just displayed had earned him the right to such deference.

"After the martial conference, being the focus of the world’s attention, the great tides of the era all converged within my heart. I had a few insights and made some progress," Zhao Xuanqi said calmly, nodding.

Hearing this, everyone—from the five masters and their disciples in the courtyard to the observers in the pavilion behind them—felt as if a clap of thunder had descended from a clear sky, roaring through their minds.
