Chapter 69: Chapter 69: Divine Hall

At a time like this, he had no desire to argue with the fox.

He had never seen a female like Shen Yue, who could walk for so long without a single break, never once complaining or showing any sign of hardship.

Bai Chaosi felt the exact same way.

He was willing to do anything to ease Shen Yue’s mind and make her feel more comfortable.

Shen Yue had no idea the two men’s hearts were silently aching for her.

All she wanted was to get out of here quickly and see her cubs.

They must be terrified after she fell into this fissure.

So, she turned and started walking back the way they came.

But after just two steps, she stopped dead in her tracks.

She whipped her head around.

Bai Chaosi and Mu Silin, who were behind her, jumped in surprise.

Bai Chaosi asked,

"What’s wrong?"

Her gaze went past the two men, locking onto the ice wall.

"Smash the ice wall!"

The two men froze, exchanging a stunned glance.

Both were horrified.

Mu Silin looked at the ice wall and couldn’t stop himself from saying to Shen Yue,

"If we smash this ice wall in such a narrow passage, it could cause the whole tunnel to collapse!"

Bai Chaosi nodded in agreement.

"He’s right. In an enclosed passage like this, we have no idea where the ice wall is. If it’s blocking the exit, we’d be fine. But if it’s somewhere in the middle, smashing it will cause the entire area to collapse. We’ll never get out then!"

Shen Yue knew that, of course.

’The risk is huge!’

But she was certain about the wind she’d felt earlier. She trusted her judgment.

Besides, when she had just turned around, she’d clearly felt a breeze blowing against her back. That meant there was natural airflow on the other side of the ice wall, likely seeping in from a crevice or a fissure. The moment she turned, the two opposing currents had swirled together, and she had felt it.

Her senses had never failed her.

She looked at the two of them, her gaze resolute.

"I know everything you’ve said. Trust me, just this once. We’re smashing the ice wall."

"We can definitely get out."

Seeing her earnest expression, the two men looked at each other again.

When it came to the laws of survival in the Beast World and assessing dangerous situations, males were certainly more adept than females.

From their perspective, smashing the ice wall was out of the question.

But then, a light flickered in Mu Silin’s eyes.

In the span of a single breath, he made his decision.

’Since Shen Yue said it, and she’s so insistent, I’ll trust her unconditionally.’

’The worst that can happen is we die here together.’

’For me, Mu Silin, that would be worth it. After all, she already gave me children, so I don’t have to worry about my lineage ending.’

’I’d actually be happy to die with her.’

With that thought, he looked at her, his expression firm, and nodded.

"Okay. I’ll listen to you."

As he spoke, he clenched his fists.

He gathered his spiritual power, building its strength, ready to strike the ice wall.

But with a flash in his eyes, Bai Chaosi grabbed Mu Silin’s hand, stopping him.

Mu Silin demanded,

"What are you doing?"

Shen Yue’s head snapped toward him as well.

She thought Bai Chaosi was going to object to smashing the wall.

But instead, he said,

"One person’s strength won’t be enough. We’ll do it together."

Shen Yue was stunned.

’I can’t believe both of them are willing to trust me.’

She looked at Bai Chaosi, her gaze meeting his gentle eyes, where a deep emotion seemed to flicker.

It was something she couldn’t quite make out.

The corners of his lips curved into a slight smile. In the dim light of the cave, he was as breathtakingly beautiful as a blue lotus blooming on a snowy mountain.

He said,

"My name is Bai Chaosi. You must remember it, Shen Yue."

Though his voice was gentle and soft, it held an undeniable seriousness and gravity.

It was as if he were gravely instructing her that she *had* to remember his name.

Shen Yue felt a tremor run through her.

Only then did it dawn on her.

This whole time, she hadn’t even known the fox’s name.

A smile played on her lips as she tilted her head, returning his grin.

"Alright. As long as you don’t try to take the children from me when we get back, I’ll remember you."

’Otherwise, he’s nameless to me.’

’The kids come first!’

Her smile left Bai Chaosi dazed. He thought she looked utterly adorable with her head tilted so playfully.

’I accept it,’ he thought.

’Even if I die, it’ll be for her sake.’

’As Beast Husbands, if our Female Master orders us to die, how could we dare to refuse!’

’At least our Female Master is dying with us.’

’It’s worth it!’

Mu Silin and Bai Chaosi hesitated no longer. Gathering their spiritual power, they struck out at the same time, sending a palm strike flying toward the wall.

The immense force, like a thousand-pound hammer, slammed into the center of the ice wall.

BANG!

A crack appeared on the ice wall from the impact.

In the next second, the crack spread out like a spiderweb.

As the three of them watched with bated breath.

CRASH!

The ice wall instantly shattered.

Shards of ice flew everywhere like sharp daggers.

The two men moved at the exact same time, shielding Shen Yue with their bodies.

Their formidable spiritual power completely absorbed the force of the shattering wall.

But in their effort to protect Shen Yue, both Mu Silin and Bai Chaosi were still nicked by a few of the ice shards.

Shen Yue’s sharp eyes caught the drops of blood falling from the two men, and her pupils constricted.

But this was no time for sentimentality.

The three of them held their breath, waiting to see if the tunnel would react.

After a few seconds... nothing. It didn’t collapse!

All three of them instantly let out a sigh of relief.

Shen Yue exclaimed, "The gamble paid off!"

The two men stared at her, utterly shocked.

The shattered ice wall before them crumbled away, revealing an opening.

Through the opening, they could clearly see an empty space beyond. It wasn’t another tunnel, but a vast, ice-encased chamber.

Neither Mu Silin nor Bai Chaosi had expected to find something so different on the other side of the ice wall.

’Shen Yue is incredible!’

’How did she know there was a way out back here?’

Shen Yue’s voice was tinged with excitement.

"We need to hit it one more time to get through."

After all, the opening was too small. Even she couldn’t fit, let alone tall men like Mu Silin and Bai Chaosi.

The two men thought so as well.

Gathering their spiritual power, they struck it again.

This time, the opening was finally large enough to pass through.

Shen Yue raised her flashlight and immediately shone it through the opening.

The beam of light revealed a vast, quiet, and open space. Its edges were lost in the darkness.

Mu Silin spoke up.

"I’ll go first. You walk in the middle."

With that, Mu Silin stepped through first.

Shen Yue and Bai Chaosi followed him through.

Once they were standing in the open space, Shen Yue swept the flashlight from side to side.

But when the light landed on a giant stone statue, she jumped in fright.

"Ah!!"

She nearly dropped the flashlight.

Mu Silin and Bai Chaosi were stunned as well.

"What is it?"

The two men quickly looked up, following the beam of her flashlight as it slowly panned across the area.

A hundred-meter-tall stone statue—a colossus.

There were eight of them in total, standing erect in the enormous space.

The heads of the colossal statues were carved with such lifelike detail that they seemed alive.

Their faces were fierce, their eyes glaring, their expressions stern. They had the faces of men and the bodies of beasts.

They looked majestic and solemn, sacred and inviolable.

Shen Yue was shaken. She never imagined there would be eight, hundred-meter-tall statues of giant beasts here. The sight was terrifying at first glance!

If a child were to see this at night, they’d probably have nightmares for a year.

Shen Yue walked around the space. It was enormous. Standing between the colossal statues, the three of them were as tiny as ants.

The beam of the flashlight couldn’t even illuminate the entire chamber.

Mu Silin, equally horrified, couldn’t help but ask,

"What is this place?"

Shen Yue surveyed their surroundings.

"I don’t know. It looks like a great hall."

’It feels like a vast temple hall, and a sacred one at that,’ she thought.

Just then, Bai Chaosi spoke.

"This looks like a Divine Hall."

"A Divine Hall?" Mu Silin repeated.

It took him a few seconds to process before he asked in shock,

"You mean, the legendary Divine Hall of the Beast God?"

Hearing this, Shen Yue also turned to Bai Chaosi with curiosity.

’The Divine Hall of the Beast God?’

’Things are getting mystical?’

’Doesn’t the Beast God only exist in legends? I thought he was just a symbolic belief for the Beast World People. How could there be a real Divine Hall?’
