I leaned back in my chair and rested my finger on my chin. I was glad this nightmare with Kara was over and now I could focused on a life with Cad.

I couldn’t wait to marry Cadence and have a family with her. I had just proposed to her and to be honest I was ready for her to walk down the aisle. I could see Cadence beautiful face in her long white dress. Her makeup and hair nothing short of perfection and her eyes focused on me. My brother would be the best man, our sisters and Emily would be her bridesmaids and Kara would be the flower girl as hundreds of people would listen to us confess our love for one another.

Thoughts of her and I together made me happy. Even my family said they saw a change in me when Cadence and I are together. They say we are each other’s puzzle piece and we fit together perfectly. Spending time with her made me love her more. Her laugh, her sassiness and good heart make her one of a kind. Nothing was going to stand in the way of our happiness.

There was a knock on the door and I looked at the clock. It was after midnight and Cad would have just come in. The door slowly opened and Sydney walked in.

She had on a red wrap dress with matching high heel shoes. Her hair was pinned up and her eyes were puffy. As she came closer, it looked like she had been crying. She walked up to the desk.

I had hired Sydney about three years ago along with Melinda to help out Greta. Greta focused on the running of the household and cooking while the others handled general cleaning.

A few months after I hired Sydney we slept together. She was just a hook-up and I had made it clear that it was just a fuck thing. I never showed her off in public and I never told her I had feelings for her. It was a mutual consent that feelings were not to be involved. I know I never should have done it, but hell I was lonely and single.

I looked up at her. It had been a few days since I had seen her. Since Cadence has been here, she had stayed away as much as possible. I was focusing on Cadence, the babies and Kara so my mind was elsewhere. Sydney was a pretty girl, but I wasn’t interested anymore.

"Want some company?" She asked.

"Actually I was headed up to bed. You should have clocked out hours ago."

"I should join you," she said seductively.

"I will pass."

"My dad is drunk again. I was scared he would hit me again so I drove over here. I figured I could sleep in the guest room. Remember you told me, I could stay here if I needed to? This is the only other place I feel safe at."

"You may need to find another place. Things are changing around here."

"Is she still here?"

"If you mean my fiancé, then the answer is yes."

"So it is true that you proposed to her?"

"I did and I don’t regret it."

"Is she pregnant?"

"Yep, with twins."

She started to cry. "How could you do this to us?"

"There was never an us. We stopped having sex over seven months ago. I fell in love with Cadence."

"She is not the one. She can never love you like I can."

"I was never in love with you, Sydney."

"That’s not true! Every time we were together, I felt your love for me."

"It wasn’t love. It was lust. I didn’t mean to hurt you if I did. I told you in the beginning this was just sex and nothing more. I’m sorry if you got the wrong impression."

"I can’t believe this. You used me Evan," she said crying.

Too many hormones in this house. Her tears and Cadence tears were enough to make you pull out your hair.

"Sydney don’t cry. My heart belongs to her. She is carrying my children. If you can’t accept her then you have to leave."

"Does she know? About us?"

"No and you are going to keep your mouth shut. Do you hear me? If you say a word I will fire you, understand? I will tell her myself."

"Well if you want me to keep my mouth shut, you need to make love to me." She walked from in front of the desk and walked in between my legs.

"Go away Sydney."

"Come on. You know you want it. We are good together." She pulled the belt from around the dress and she was wearing a red lacey bra and matching thong. I turned away.

"Put your damn clothes back on," I said forcefully. She straddled my lap. What we had in the past was good but I wasn’t about to ruin my chances with Cadence.

"Come on Evan you know you want it. She can’t give it to you like I can." She started to move her hips trying to make me hard but it wasn’t working as I was counting down from twenty to ten in my mind. I was horny but not for her.

I picked her up and sat her on the desk. I reached down and picked up her dress and threw it at her. "I want you out of here. You are fired!" I said pointing at her.

My brother warned me about sleeping in the same place you fuck. I didn’t listen and now I had to put up with this bullshit.

"You will not get away with this Evan! You will pay!" She yelled as I walked out the door.

I should have let her go when I brought Cadence here. She was a mistake and I fault myself for not making myself clear. I didn’t need Cadence stress out. It took ever ounce of strength not to grab Sydney and throw her out. I didn’t need her starting commotion.

Before I made it to the stairs, I heard her yelling my name. I thought she would have gotten the picture when I walked off but no she had to show her ass.
