She Came to Heal, Stayed to Conquer
Chapter 154 - 126: Sleep with Me for a While (Part 3)The trusted aide’s playful teasing made Zhao Zun’s ears slightly red, but he still maintained a dignified expression on his face.
He was about to say something else when the corner of his eye suddenly caught a familiar figure in the distance.
Han Lei had somehow already gotten up, led by Jin Ju, walking toward the dining hall.
She clearly heard what Zhao Zun just said, her cheeks blushing and a slight shyness in her eyes.
Zhao Zun’s heart tightened, remembering the spring scene in the bathtub last night, his ears instantly grew even redder.
He quickly tucked the Love Lock into his chest, coughed to appear calm, and turned to the trusted aide, saying, "Alright, disperse now, go about your business."
The trusted aide dispersed with chuckles, throwing meaningful glances at Han Lei before leaving.
Han Lei felt even more uneasy under their gaze, lowered her head, and quickly walked to Zhao Zun’s side, asking softly, "Zhao Zun, why did you suddenly..."
Looking at her shy appearance, Zhao Zun felt a wave of tenderness. He glanced at the trusted aide who hadn’t gone far, his tone gentle yet firm.
"Because I can’t wait any longer. Whether or not we’ve officially wed, from now on, you’re my Princess Consort, and my trusted aide must also obey your commands."
"Go, Prince!"
"Prince is mighty!"
Zhao Zun’s voice was loud, causing the trusted aide who hadn’t left far to erupt in teasing laughter again.
Han Lei’s face reddened even more, yet inside, she felt as if wrapped in a warm flow.
She knew Zhao Zun was placing her in the most important position, willing to hand over his power to her. This trust and deep affection moved her nearly speechless.
Zhao Zun, seeing her with her head down, thinking she was still bashful, lightly held her hand.
"After breakfast, come back to the room with me."
"Ah?"
Can’t wait anymore?
Han Lei’s mouth twitched.
As a modern person, she considered herself quite open-minded.
But Zhao Zun being so direct, is it really okay? She wasn’t prepared mentally at all! Besides, she didn’t like whatever before marriage.
Yet Zhao Zun’s lips curled up slightly, evidently pleased with the aide’s playful banter.
He directly took Han Lei’s hand and headed into the dining hall, accompanying her for breakfast.
Noticing Zhao Zun’s two dark circles, Han Lei frowned slightly, drank two mouthfuls of hot porridge, and couldn’t help but inquire.
"Didn’t sleep well last night?"
Han Lei’s tone was concerned, but Zhao Zun felt his throat tighten, as if something was stuck.
He certainly couldn’t say he kept dreaming of her bathing last night?
He nodded, his voice somewhat hoarse.
"Yes, couldn’t sleep well thinking about things. Later... you accompany me to sleep a bit more."
As he said this, his gaze inadvertently flickered, his ears inexplicably reddening.
Accompany to sleep?
"Um..."
Han Lei’s heart raced like a deer.
She was unaware that Zhao Zun saw her bathing last night, merely finding Zhao Zun’s behavior today odd.
Thinking Zhao Zun was under too much stress lately, she bought a bottle of melatonin from the system and handed it to him, her tone gentle.
"Take this, eat two pills before sleep, it helps with it."
"Uh!"
Zhao Zun received the bottle, opened it, directly shook out two melatonin pills, and swallowed them.
Jin Ju was standing behind Han Lei holding a cup of clear water, ready for Han Lei to rinse after breakfast. Unexpectedly, Zhao Zun turned around, picked up the cup, and used it to take his medicine.
In the modern day, after breakfast, Han Lei usually went to the bathroom to rinse her mouth. Since arriving at Zhao Zun’s residence, she got to enjoy the maid’s service of bringing water to rinse after meals.
Zhao Zun knew these privileges, yet today he used mouthwash water for taking medicine. Moreover, his ears were an abnormal red.
So strange, really too strange.
Jin Ju and Han Lei were stunned watching Zhao Zun.
Han Lei cautiously asked, "Zhao Zun, Zun. Are you... alright?"
"I’m fine, have you finished eating?" Zhao Zun’s gaze was intense.
Han Lei glanced down at her half-bowl of porridge, and had to comply by saying, "Finished."
"Finished, then come back to the room with me. Let’s go."
Zhao Zun said, already standing up, taking Han Lei’s small hand, and leading her outside.
Back to the room?
Is he serious?
In broad daylight, he’s so impatient?
"Hey! What are you doing?"
Shocked, Han Lei shouted in alarm, struggling quickly, but Zhao Zun’s big hand was like an iron clamp, impossible to shake off.
Han Lei’s heart pounded fast, vigorously patting his hand, but Zhao Zun just smiled, pulling her forward unaffectedly.
"Zhao Zun, Zhao Zun. Let me go!"
"Zhao Zun, let go! Everyone’s watching us!"
Zhao Zun’s lips curved, saying nothing, their figures flaunting in the courtyard.
Han Lei’s noise disturbed the busy servants and trusted aides, who halted their work to watch the commotion, one after another showing expressions of surprise.
Only when they reached Zhao Zun’s courtyard did he abruptly turn, scoldingly ordering Jin Ju, who had been following them.
"No need to serve here, leave first!"
Jin Ju timidly glanced at Han Lei, who was no longer struggling, but still trying to prise apart Zhao Zun’s hand with her head down, not looking at her.
Jin Ju could guess what was about to happen and blushed, sighed, then obediently replied.
"Yes! I’ll take my leave now."
Seeing Jin Ju turn around, Zhao Zun scanned the heads curiously poking from afar before releasing Han Lei’s small hand, lifting her horizontally in his arms.
"Ah!"
Han Lei exclaimed, grabbing Zhao Zun’s neck tightly, her tone growing into a teary whimper.
"Zhao Zun, Zun. Please don’t do this. We haven’t officially married yet!"
Zhao Zun lowered his head, glanced at her, amused by her pouting and pitiful look. He said nothing, striding powerfully into the room.
Then, he kicked the door behind him.
The door creaked and closed with a bang.
