Chapter 274: Ultimate Courier
Two days passed in the blink of an eye.
Inside the private, array-shielded training ground of the Valdris Royal Academy, violent shockwaves echoed relentlessly.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Rhain was completely immersing himself in a grueling regimen of combat training.
Having just stepped into the Core Formation Realm, his physical body and vast essence reserves needed to be seamlessly integrated.
He pushed himself to the edge, repeatedly executing the Emperor-Grade martial art: Heaven’s Judgement Finger.
Each time he thrust his fingers forward, a concentrated beam of pitch-black light tore through the void, striking the defensive arrays with an earth-shattering impact.
As he slowly exhaled, lowering his hand, a sharp vibration came from his spatial ring.
Rhain halted his essence circulation and retrieved the glowing transmission talisman.
"Master," Vulcan’s deep, respectful voice resonated clearly. "I have arrived in Valdris City. I brought three of our newly recruited Domain Master guest elders with me as an escort. We have already secured a massive, prime commercial property in the central district."
"Good," Rhain replied, wiping a thin bead of sweat from his forehead.
"Master, since we are in the same city, when can we arrange a meeting? The guest elders are eager to pay their respects to Grandmaster Korryn in person," Vulcan requested.
"It is impossible for now," Rhain stated flatly. "I cannot step a single foot outside the walls of the Valdris Royal Academy. The moment I leave this territory, the Old Dean’s protection is voided, and the Royal Court’s executioners will immediately descend upon me."
Vulcan fell silent for a moment, understanding the gravity of the situation.
"Have you found anything regarding the method to conceal my identity?" Rhain asked, his dark grey eyes narrowing.
"We are still searching, Master," Vulcan replied with a trace of frustration. "The black markets are vast, but finding a technique or an artifact capable of entirely hiding someone’s fundamental truth from a Monarch’s eyes is incredibly difficult. But we will not stop looking."
"Keep searching," Rhain ordered calmly.
"Understood," Vulcan agreed, before asking his next question. "But Master... if you cannot leave the Academy grounds, how will we secure the pill supply for the new Valdris branch? Without the pills, we cannot open our doors."
Rhain’s lips curled into a faint smirk.
"You don’t have to worry about that," Rhain replied. "I already have a plan. Be ready to receive the shipment today."
With that, Rhain cut the connection and stored the talisman away.
He adjusted his dark robes, leaving the training ground and heading toward a certain place.
-------------
In another luxurious courtyard within the guest sector, the sharp, whistling sound of a blade cutting through the air echoed continuously.
*Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!*
Lyra was pushing herself to the limit.
Her crimson hair was plastered to her sweat-drenched forehead.
Her breathing was ragged, and her perfectly tailored training robes clung tightly to her graceful figure, soaked entirely in her own sweat.
But she didn’t stop.
Her crimson eyes blazed with a manic, unyielding light.
She poured every last ounce of her Core Formation essence into her rapier, her mind entirely consumed by a the image of Rhain standing over her, looking down at her with those infuriatingly dismissive look.
*I will break that arrogant look off his face!* Lyra screamed in her mind, gritting her teeth as she unleashed another devastating thrust.
She visualized Rhain standing right in front of her.
The sheer satisfaction of finally thrusting her rapier straight through him, forcing him to his knees, and making him admit his defeat was exhilarating.
"KNEEL, YOU ARROGANT BASTARD!" Lyra shrieked, executing the Crimson Tempest Rend with devastating ferocity.
"Your footwork is sloppy."
The sudden, chillingly calm voice cut through her furious roar like a blade of ice.
Lyra froze mid-strike.
She whipped her head around, her crimson eyes widening in surprise as she spotted Rhain leaning against the entrance.
"You!" Lyra’s face immediately flushed with embarrassment and furious indignation. "Why are you here?! Are you spying on me?!"
"I have better things to do than spy on someone shadowboxing," Rhain said, walking leisurely into the courtyard. "I came to ask you a question. Do you still want your two billion Aetherium Crystal debt paid?"
Lyra’s .
The words struck Lyra exactly where it hurt the most.
Her haughty expression stiffened.
The crushing reality of the astronomical debt she owed him for the flawless Mystic-Grade pills instantly extinguished her fiery outburst.
"Of course I will pay it!" Lyra snapped, raising her chin haughtily. "I told you I wouldn’t owe you a single coin!"
"Good," Rhain nodded. "Because I have a way for you to pay off that debt without you spending a single Aetherium Crystal."
Lyra’s crimson eyes narrowed with immediate suspicion. "How?"
With a flick of his wrist, Rhain tossed a small velvet pouch toward her.
Lyra caught it instinctively. Opening the pouch, she found ten exquisite spatial rings resting inside.
Inside the ring were mountains of perfectly round, flawless Epic-Grade pills, and neatly organized rows of jade bottles containing flawless Mystic-Grade pills.
The combined value of just one ring was enough to make a lesser Noble Family weep with envy.
"What... what is this?" Lyra looked up at him with bewilderment.
"I need those rings delivered to the Celestial Elixir Pavilion branch here in Valdris City," Rhain explained, "You are to hand them over directly to Manager Vulcan."
"You want me to be your delivery girl?" Lyra screeched fiercely.
"I am offering you a choice," Rhain corrected. "Each time you successfully deliver these rings to Vulcan, it will be equivalent to one hundred million Aetherium Crystals wiped from your debt."
Lyra stared at him, her mouth slightly parted.
She rapidly did the math in her head.
One delivery equaled one hundred million.
She only needed to make twenty deliveries in total to completely erase a debt that would have otherwise be near impossible to pay without her mother’s help.
It was, objectively speaking, an incredibly generous and irresistible deal.
Gritting her teeth, she nodded her head, "Fine! I will do it."
Rhain simply turned his back, waving a hand lazily as he began to walk away.
"Good. Have this batch delivered before noon in the specified location."
As Rhain stepped out of the courtyard, a cold, calculated glint flashed in his dark grey eyes.
He had chosen Lyra after very careful consideration.
With the Royal Decree hanging over his head, the Imperial envoys and the Emperor’s spies were undoubtedly watching the Academy’s borders like hawks.
Anyone leaving the premises with ties to him would be instantly detained, or killed.
But Lyra was different.
She was the jewel of the Emberford Noble Family.
But more importantly, she carried the bloodline of that taboo existence.
Rhain knew that the Royal Family was deeply terrified of provoking that man.
Even the Solathane Emperor would not dare to order his Domain Masters to lay a single hand on Lyra Emberford.
She was the single most untouchable, secure courier in the entire dynasty.
---
By mid-afternoon, the commercial center of Valdris City was in a state of unprecedented uproar.
The Celestial Elixir Pavilion had officially opened its doors.
Because of the monstrous wealth they had accumulated in Stormveil City, Vulcan had easily secured the most opulent, towering commercial property right in the center of the city’s wealthiest district.
There had been no grand announcements. No extravagant advertisements.
They didn’t need them.
The legend of Grandmaster Korryn’s flawless pills had already swept through the entire dynasty like a hurricane.
The moment the golden signboard was hung above the doors, the news spread instantaneously.
Within a mere few hours, the situation outside the Valdris City pavilion perfectly mirrored the chaos that had plagued Stormveil City.
Thousands of wealthy elites, aristocratic heirs, and rogue cultivators crowded the massive avenue, frantically waving pouches of Aetherium Crystals.
But unlike the Stormveil branch, the rules here had been drastically upgraded.
A massive golden plaque outside the doors declared the new daily limits:
[Daily Supply: 1,000 Flawless Epic-Grade Pills.]
[Flawless Mystic-Grade Pills Available Upon Special Request.]
"One thousand Epic-Grade pills a day?"
"And they are selling Mystic-Grade pills? Flawless Mystic-Grade pills!!"
The crowd was completely losing its mind.
Standing at the grand entrance, acting as the ultimate deterrent, were the two newly recruited early stage Domain Masters.
The sight of two true Domain Masters working as mere door guards sent a chilling wave of respect through the frenzied crowd.
No one dared to cause a single disturbance.
Slowly, the elite factions of Valdris City began to arrive.
A group of sharp-eyed cultivators wearing robes embroidered with swirling starlight—the signature attire of the Nebula Sword Sect—approached the entrance.
They were greeted by guards, who offered a polite nod and personally ushered them inside to browse the premium selections.
Seeing the Nebula Sword Sect granted immediate access, another group stepped forward.
They wore luxurious silver and gold robes, their chins tilted upward with inherent arrogance.
They were the memebers of the Vaelstrum Clan.
The leading Vaelstrum elder smirked, fully expecting the same VIP treatment.
"Make way," the elder demanded haughtily, expecting the guards to immediately part for them.
But as he stepped forward, one of the Domain Master guard suddenly shifted his stance.
Thud.
The Domain Master crossed his arms, stepping squarely into the center of the doorway, his overwhelming aura acting as an impenetrable physical wall.
The Vaelstrum elder halted, his smug smile dropping into a scowl of indignation. "What is the meaning of this? Do you not know who we are? We are the Vaelstrum Clan!"
The Domain Master guard looked down at the elder with a gaze of chilling apathy.
"I know exactly who you are," the guard replied, his booming voice echoing clearly across the suddenly quieted street.
He narrowed his eyes, delivering the exact script Vulcan had handed him.
"Halt. The Celestial Elixir Pavilion does not do business with the Vaelstrum Clan. You are blacklisted from this establishment. Now, get lost before I break your legs."
