Wu Yao and Wu Zhou invited the three brothers, Hong Yi, Hong Er and Hong San for a talk. They had introduced themselves to one another and began their conversation. The Wu brothers first explained the situation they were in and the contract that was signed in Wu Zhou’s name without his permission. The three brothers were friendly as they noticed that the Wu brothers in front of them weren’t showing any fear of disdain when they learned that they were blood demon halflings.
In the Immortal World where origin and background is the most important, halflings and mixed breeds were usually treated as menaces and everyone hated them. After all, not all those whose blood was mixed can achieve the reputation of a powerful person. It can be said that in the Immortal World the purer your bloodline is the stronger your one is. Once it was mixed with something that didn’t fit the original template, they would be treated as an outlier.
Blood Demons is a race born from the Blood Sea. The Blood Sea is said to be a part of the main body of the Blood Sea Demon Emperor. Only those who were born from the Blood Sea can be considered pureblood Blood Demons. However, Blood Demons are lustful by nature and the number of females in their race is too scarce. So some male blood demon would leave the blood sea and seek for a mate outside.
Usually, mates of the Blood Demons were killed after the deed was done to erase the bad bloodline. But there are some blood demons who fell in love with their partner from another race, humans are the most adaptable. Despite the difference in race, they can bear almost any race’s children. The only downside is that the human body is too weak. Once the child is born most humans die while giving birth.
That’s how Blood Demon Halflings were born. This is the mixed blood of a human and a blood demon mixed together. However, blood demons live in the blood sea. So once their partners died they would eventually return to the sea. But Blood Demon Halflings cannot live in the Blood Sea, after all, they are part humans and the human race is incapable of living under the sea. So in the end, the Blood Demon Halflings can only live at the shore of the Blood Sea.
The community of the Blood Demon Tribe isn’t that big as not all Blood Demons can become a high level demon just because they are purebloods. Only those blood demons who can control their thirst for blood and retain their sanity somehow were treated as Demon Lords. Above Demon Lords are Demon Kings. There are four Demon Kings that rule the Blood Sea and they are the only ones capable of contacting the Blood Demon Emperor who was said to be slumbering at the deepest depths of the Blood Sea.
Hong Yi frowned when he heard about the contract that involves the blood demons. Not only him but his two brothers as well. They knew too well how contracts within their race are made and to check its authenticity, Hong Er had requested to see the contract.
"I would like to see the contract if you don’t mind exposing the contents? If you trust us completely that is," Hong Er said.
The three brothers thought that the two humans in front of them would hesitate. After all, this is a contract that involves them directly. If an outsider like them who had connections to the Blood Demons see it, the possibilities of countless endings may unfold. However, the brothers would have never expected that the Wu Brothers didn’t hesitate at all.
Wu Yao said, "Alright. You can check the contract yourself."
He didn’t hesitate to take out the contract and gave it to Hong Er who had requested it. Wu Zhou didn’t make any move to stop his brother and just waited for them to explain what they had noticed on the contract. This action of theirs left the three brothers dumbfounded. They actually didn’t expect to get to see the contract. They are outsiders whom these brothers had met today after all.
Confused, Hong Er glanced at the contract placed in front of them and at the Wu Brothers who were silently serving themselves another cup of tea.
"Is it truly alright for us to see this contract?" Hong Er asked. "We have just met today and... we are practically outsiders to you two. Why are you trusting us so much?"
Wu Yao and Wu Zhou paused their actions for a moment as if they couldn’t understand what Hong Er meant. They even looked somehow confused.
"Aren’t you allowed by a disciple to come over here to the academy?You even have the personal token of Xue’er. Since my disciple trusts you, of course we would as well. Isn’t this a fact?" Wu Yao said while looking confused by the reaction of the three brothers.
Wu Zhou said, "Since Xue’er trust you. Of course, we will not distrust you. We trust Xue’er’s eyes."
"But she had only met us yesterday once. Is that enough for you to trust us?" Hong San asked.
Wu Yao said, "To say that we trust you as our choice is not the answer. The moment Xue’er allowed you to come to the Black Cloud Academy with her personal token says everything. After all, Xue’er would never bring danger to her own house."
These words were enough to leave Hong Yi, Hong Er and Hong San shocked. Something like this never happened at all. They couldn’t understand why such trust was given to them unconditionally just because a single young lady had given her trust to them.
All of the sudden, a voice from behind the brothers was heard saying, {There is no need to think too much. The reason they trust you is simple. Xue’er believes you are harmless. In her eyes anything that may cause harm to anyone she deemed important doesn’t deserve to exist. Since you aren’t strangers that she chose to ignore but choose to accept instead meant in her eyes you are not enemies at least not at this moment. So do not overthink too much.}
This voice was the Immortal Sun Emperor, Shen Jueyang’s voice. He was actually eavesdropping from the Yueguang Peak and overheard their conversation which led to him getting involved himself. But unlike the undeniable trust of the Wu Brothers, Shen Jueyang knew that Yue Xuexia possessed Heavenly Eye and under the gaze of these eyes, no secret can be hidden.
After hearing the voice of the Immortal Sun Emperor left the brothers unknown what to say.
Wu Yao shouted in the direction of the Yueguang Peak and said, "Brat, stop eavesdropping. If you want to listen to the conversation, come over!"
{No way. I am helping Xue’er with dinner preparations. I can’t leave her to do everything on her own.} the Immortal Sun Emperor retorted.
"What are we going to have for dinner tonight?" Wu Zhou asked.
Shen Jueyang answered, {It seems to be a seafood hotpot. Xue’er said to let the guests stay over for dinner as well. Alright, I’m going to get busy now.}
The voice instantly disappeared after saying what it wanted. It didn’t even care if the other side had something else to say, which in the end pissed Principal Wu Yao into cursing the Immortal Sun Emperor a few times before calming down. It was only after the three brothers learned the reason for the undeniable trust of these people that they calmly accepted their current standing.
Hong Er read the contents of the contract and realized something that made him show a serious expression.
"This is a blood contract. For it to be made, it didn’t require you to sign your name and only need your blood essence to be made. Since this contract was named after you, it means someone had received your blood essence and used it as the contract’s catalyst for this one to be made. This is a real blood contract made with your blood essence."

"B-Brother, I don’t... don’t remember giving it away! My hair!" Wu Zhou said.
The three brothers watch the interaction between brothers and they smile thinking that this scene seems particularly similar when the eldest is disciplining the youngest when Hong San did something wrong.
Smiling, Hong Er whispered to his brothers, "Ge, don’t you think they are similar to you and Xiao San? It seems that humans and us aren’t that much different."
All of the sudden, Hong Er’s smile suddenly faded, "Since there isn’t much difference how come neither the humans or the blood demons accept us?"
This is a question Hong Er had always asked the heavens after being born as a Blood Demon Halfling. The Blood Demon looked down on them because of their human vessel while the human feared them due to their demonic blood. Because of this, Hong Er had always believed they weren’t welcomed in either world.
"Xiao Er, can you not see it properly? Do you still think no one is capable of accepting us? But Miss Yue did..." Hong Yi said.
