My free hand grips my chest as I feel the pain starting to get more intense. Each second that passes makes me feel like I’m going to die here.

It lets out a deafening roar before I hear the sound of blood splatter hitting the grass once again. Immediately my eyes drift up towards the dragon as I try to see what happened.
To my surprise I see Raven ahead of me with green blood splattered all over her armor now.
"I knew I’d have to help," Raven says softly as she looks back towards me.
I’m getting a lot more help than I anticipated but I guess sometimes it is necessary... We are at war at the end of the day.
Damnit.
The feeling like something was getting ripped out has completely disappeared.
I grip the handle of my sword and force myself to stand back up. My eyes dart right to the dragon.
Its one eye stares back at me as blood drips down from the fresh cut Raven inflicted across its face. He doesn’t look surprised by the sudden ambush from Raven.
This should be enough to handle the rest of the hunt. I appreciate Raven helping when she did so now I’ll finish the dragon off.
~Caution is still advised. You are still quite wounded.

I get back into the Valtor stance as I lift my sword up slightly.
My heart races for but a moment before I let out one last breath.
Dash!!!!
Within seconds I find myself in front of the dragon and without hesitation I swing my sword upwards.
SLASH!!!!
It cuts right through his throat but it isn’t deep enough yet.
Not enough. Not nearly enough to end his damn life yet. I’ll finish this fight no matter what.
Grip!
I grip the sword with both my hands and begin to push it harder as green blood spills out once more.
Pain jolts through my stomach as I notice it jamming one of its claws into me.
"I. Won’t. Die..." I say while gritting my teeth.
Blood drips down from my mouth as I give one last push against the blade.
SLICE!!!!
Splurt!!!
A burst of blood sprays out from his neck as I finally manage to break through every ounce of flesh and scales in my way.
It doesn’t let out any more roars after that... It just stumbles back for a moment before toppling over.
THUD!
The ground rumbles the moment it hits the ground but after that everything goes silent for a moment. My eyes immediately shift towards the dragons body.
I’ll be taking that essence for myself.
Without thinking I reach my hand out towards the newly glowing red light from the dragons corpse.
~Immense pressure is radiating from the dragons essence.
That’s fine. I can handle it.
A burst of energy surges into my arm and all I can see is something moving underneath my flesh until I finally feel it in my chest.
BA-DUM. BA-DUM.
My heart feels like it is being torn apart as I fall down to my knees.
I can’t hear it myself but the painful screams I’m letting out is definitely going to worry the hell out of them.
Grip.
Everything feels like it is being absolutely torn apart inside of me.
Slam!!! Slam!!!
I slam my left hand onto the ground over and over again as the pain continues to eat me alive. It really is like I’m being eaten alive by the power itself right now.
Drip. Drip. Drip.
Blood begins to drip out from my mouth as I find myself falling onto the floor.
~The process is almost complete. Hang in there Kain.

I can’t even finish the thought as a stabbing pain jolts into my chest in the next moment.
"Gahhhh!!!" I cry out as everything around me starts to go dark.
The trees around me completely disappear as I find myself within this strange dark void of nothingness.
Where am I? What just happened?
I didn’t just die from absorbing the dragon essence from that final dragon... Did I? That really would be a terrible way to go out if that is the case.
There’s no f*cking way.
~No Kain, you did not die.
Why can I still hear you so clearly?
Footsteps begin to approach me.
Immediately I look around for any sign of the person approaching but I can’t seem to see a single thing.
"Who is there?!?!" I call out.
