"Then I’ll just rest for a little while." Evelyn said, "After that, I’ll walk on my own."
Caden Lockwood smiled, carrying Evelyn Morgan as he continued walking forward.
He had been here before, and while exploring alone, he had discovered a place with a beautiful view.
He hadn’t even told Julian Keaton about it, treating it as his own private domain.
Now, he especially wanted to bring Evelyn here to see it.
Evelyn kept wanting to walk on her own, but Caden refused each time.
All she could do was gently wipe his sweat and bury her head in his shoulder, knowing he was tired, but still enjoying their time together.
Finally, Caden set Evelyn down and softly said, "Follow me."
Watching him naturally take her hand, Evelyn felt a deep sense of being loved.
After rounding a small bend, Evelyn was completely captivated by the scenery before her.
It was a small valley, not large, filled with wildflowers she couldn’t name, butterflies fluttering, and a small but very deep clear pool, with a few fish swimming leisurely inside.
Looking up, the sky was pure blue, and every breath felt particularly refreshing.
"How beautiful!" Evelyn exclaimed, "How did you find such a beautiful place?"
"Do you like it?" Caden asked softly.
"Of course I like it!" Evelyn said, starting to look around excitedly.
Caden stood there, watching the lively and cheerful Evelyn, initially wanting to remind her to be careful not to fall.
However, seeing her so happy, he couldn’t bear to disturb her.
Evelyn bounced back in front of Caden, not satisfied with his calm demeanor, and asked with a smile, "Isn’t it beautiful?"
Caden’s eyes were all on Evelyn, listening to her laughter, watching her playfulness; all the scenery here paled in comparison to her.
"Very beautiful." Caden’s lips parted lightly, "Very, very... beautiful."
Evelyn blushed; how was it that she was starting to get the idea he was talking about her being beautiful?
"If there were a swing here, that would be perfect!" Evelyn suggested with a laugh.
Then she shook her head, "Better not! Adding something man-made would be out of place in such beautiful nature."
"Mm." Caden’s tone was light, "As long as you like it, anything is fine."
"Actually, I really want to build a thatched hut here and live here forever! Would that be considered living in seclusion?" Evelyn joked.
Caden couldn’t help reaching out, tapping her forehead, "What exactly goes on in your head all day?"
Hearing the doting tone in Caden’s voice, Evelyn flashed a bright smile, then threw herself into his arms.
"I really love it here!" Evelyn took a deep breath, smelling the faint fragrance on Caden, "I really want to stay here forever and not leave!"
Seeing Evelyn suddenly rush into his arms, Caden’s body stiffened, then he raised his hand, holding her close.
He tightened his arms, his chin resting on her forehead, closing his eyes, savoring the feeling of her in his embrace.
He also wished they could stay here like this forever and never leave...
By the time Evelyn and Caden returned to the villa, it was already quite late.
Evelyn lay on Caden’s back; due to discomfort and fatigue, she had already fallen asleep.
Not having to walk on her own, she was particularly relaxed and thoroughly enjoyed being carried on Caden’s back.
However, Caden’s face was full of worry.
Along the way, he had practically already decided—he should let her go.
