Hearing Caden Lockwood’s words, Evelyn Morgan’s cheeks flushed; she obviously didn’t expect him to say such touching words.

Was he... serious?

Caden couldn’t help but feel awkward; the words he just spoke weren’t his style at all!

"Your answer." Caden said fiercely, though a flush of red crept onto his cheeks too, "Quickly say it!"

Evelyn couldn’t help but laugh out loud, then spoke softly: "The older brother has been the man I liked since I understood things, but everything about him was something I fantasized myself, so I can’t be certain that after being with him, I’d still love him."

She paused, then spoke again: "But the younger uncle is different. He lived with me, dug a pit step by step, and became my husband. Though he’s temperamental, arrogant, and narcissistic, he always protects me. Whenever I’m in danger, the first one to appear in front of me is always him."

Listening to Evelyn’s words, a faint smile appeared on Caden’s lips, satisfaction surging in his eyes.

He had always been annoyed that Evelyn liked the older brother whom she had only met once.

Though, that older brother was actually him.

But he preferred her to fall in love with the real him.

After all, there was a significant gap between him and the older brother she imagined.

The older brother she imagined was probably more like Logan Shaw!

Thinking about Logan Shaw, a quick flicker of cold fury flashed through Caden’s eyes, then he returned to normal.

"And my husband." Evelyn’s smile deepened, "My husband is the upgraded version of the younger uncle because he gave me a title that others couldn’t attain with all kinds of schemes, ’Mrs. Lockwood.’ This title truly fills me with confidence!"

Upon hearing this, Caden chuckled lightly.

He reached out and pulled Evelyn into his arms, tightening his embrace, holding her close.

"Mrs." Caden said softly, "In the future, you’re not allowed to run away from my side again."

"I didn’t run away at all!" Evelyn replied, "I tried every way to stay with you, it was you who kept pushing me away!"

Thinking about Caden’s rejections over the past few days, Evelyn felt full of resentment inside.

This man was truly heartless!

Hearing her words, Caden awkwardly curled his lips.

Remembering his own awkward thoughts these past few days, he felt like wanting to smack that side of himself.

But, if he hadn’t shown an attitude suggesting he wanted a divorce, Evelyn wouldn’t have been anxious and thus wouldn’t have confessed to him, right?

Then, the two of them surely wouldn’t have the current happiness and sweetness they were experiencing.

Thinking this way, Caden felt he hadn’t made a mistake after all.

Caden slightly loosened his hold on Evelyn, looking into her eyes, softly said: "It’s my fault. In the future, even if you want to leave, I won’t push you away anymore."

As he spoke, Caden furrowed his brow, pulling Evelyn into another embrace, "If something happened to you last night, what would I do?" His voice was full of concern.

"Really won’t push me away again?" Evelyn squinted her eyes with a smile, "Words have to count, okay!"

"But you!" Caden lowered his voice, with a hint of a harsh cold fury, "In the future, no matter what happens, you cannot run away on your own, especially when there are no bodyguards around, you absolutely cannot run away, understood?"

"At that time, I saw Eleanor Keaton sitting on your lap, and you didn’t even push her away. Anyone normal would lose their sanity, okay!" Evelyn said unhappily.
