Slowly Falling into His Love Trap
Chapter 686: Satisfy the Body First or the Stomach FirstEvelyn turned around and looked at Eleanor, waiting for her to speak.
"I came to see Caden today, not to seduce him or to fight with you for him. The things that happened in the villa have already made me realize that he really values you." Eleanor’s voice was very soft.
Evelyn was taken aback, clearly not expecting Eleanor to say this to her.
"What do you mean?" Evelyn asked, puzzled. "Are you giving up on him?"
"I don’t want him!" Eleanor said with a not-so-friendly tone. "Why should I keep chasing after a man who doesn’t love me? I’m not... unwanted!"
"That’s good then!" Evelyn couldn’t help but laugh. "Actually, my husband isn’t that great. You just imagine he’s especially excellent because you can’t have him. If you were really with him, you might have regretted it by now!"
Eleanor was stunned and replied coldly, "Evelyn, you’re really asking for it!" Then she couldn’t help but burst into laughter.
"Um..." Evelyn hesitated for a while before speaking again. "Although we don’t have any friendship between us, we’re not exactly rivals now. So, I hope you’ll agree to Cece marrying into The Keaton Family. She really cares about your brother’s family. If you agree, your parents might also relent."
"Cecilia Lynch could never marry into The Keaton Family!" Eleanor said in a firm tone. "I can’t manage this matter, so don’t expect me to do anything! Besides, we’re not close enough to be friends, are we?"
With that, Eleanor turned and left.
Watching Eleanor’s retreating figure, Evelyn sighed heavily.
However, thinking about Cecilia’s matter being handled by Julian, Evelyn put on a smile again.
Caden was still waiting for her to have dinner!
Back at the office, Evelyn indeed saw Caden standing by the window.
He was looking out the window, appearing relaxed, yet with a hint of subtle melancholy. His tall figure, draped in a black suit, exuded the elegant charm of a mature man.
"What’s up?" Evelyn walked towards Caden, naturally snuggling into his arms. "Is Aunt May’s cooking not satisfying enough? Does it take my personal cooking?"
Caden lowered his gaze, noticing that Evelyn was becoming bolder in front of him, daring to approach him so proactively.
Was she completely used to his demands, so she wasn’t afraid anymore?
"I just find the food not as tasty as you." Caden teased Evelyn on purpose, "I’m contemplating whether to eat you first, or have dinner first."
Filling up the body or filling up the stomach, that’s a difficult dilemma.
"Hey!" Evelyn was anxious, instinctively stepping out of Caden’s embrace.
She retreated a big step, with a hint of panic in her eyes. "Can you stop? I’m a patient, alright?"
Evelyn was truly embarrassed.
She merely loosened up a bit last night, and now Caden was starting to lose control?
Was he not being a bit too much?
Seeing Evelyn’s wary expression, Caden couldn’t help but laugh softly.
Laughter rumbled out of his chest, exceptionally pleasant to the ears.
Lowering her eyes, Evelyn then realized that Caden was teasing her.
A blush crept onto her cheeks, and she sat on the sofa, beginning to open the lunchbox to eat.
Caden sat beside Evelyn, raising his voice to ask, "What did you say to Eleanor?"
