Chapter 90: Chapter 90: Robot 001

"I’ve managed to save most of my money." Shi Feng’s face was full of joy after taking a look around inside.

The others looked happy as well. Anything that didn’t cost money was a good thing.

Grabbing brooms, towels, and mops, they cleaned the dusty Mecha Manufacturing Room until it was spotless.

Partway through, they also tinkered with a robot. This robot was completely different from the ones they usually saw in their daily lives.

Its head was a large white sphere, and its body resembled a cone. However, it was inverted, with the pointy end facing down and the round end facing up.

Shi Feng discovered the robot when he accidentally knocked over a cardboard box that had been placed up high. It fell, revealing its head.

Not long after they plugged the robot in to charge, its eyes lit up in a flash.

A mechanical voice came from its mouth: [BEEP— Hello, dear master. How may 001 be of service to you?]

’So the round-headed robot is called 001. Sounds like a string of code.’

Shi Feng stood in front of it, stroking his chin in thought for a moment before asking, "Can you help me clean?"

001’s small head spun around quickly, and a happy text-based emoji appeared on it. [Of course!] Even its mechanical voice sounded excited.

With its battery only half full, it unplugged itself, picked up a broom, and started cleaning.

With the robot joining in, things went much faster.

Moreover, it cleaned so thoroughly that there was no need to go over its work.

Seeing how well it cleaned, Lin Jingjing tossed the rag in her hand aside, then stood there watching it, and stopped working.

She was tired of working and didn’t feel like wiping anymore.

"001, you need to work a little faster," Lin Jingjing said to the robot with a smile as she walked over.

Hearing someone command it to be faster, 001’s round head bobbed up and down.

[Yes, dear master.]

’Heh, this robot calls everyone master. This is fun.’

Shi Feng heard this, immediately walked over, and patted its head. "I’m your master!"

"I am!" Shi Feng shouted, pointing at himself, which made the others burst out laughing.

Unfortunately, 001 was a robot. It couldn’t understand such things.

It said with a cheerful tone: [But a sole master has not yet been set in my system.]

[Anyone could potentially be my master.]

Hearing this, Shi Feng poked the robot’s head. After fiddling with it for a bit, he entered his name.

In the master column, there were temporary and permanent options. Shi Feng didn’t choose the permanent one.

"There." Shi Feng stood up and patted its head, beaming with happiness.

cleaned exceptionally fast. Eventually, the five of them stopped working, and the robot took over all the remaining tasks.

It was fast and cleaned very thoroughly.

In just one hour, it had cleaned the entire Mecha Manufacturing Room until it was spotless.

"It’s pretty capable," Feng He said, squatting to the side and watching it. ’It feels great to have my hands free.’

After they finished cleaning up, they checked the time and saw it was time for class. Their good moods vanished instantly.

"ARGH—" Feng He grabbed her hair in a frenzy and ranted, "Why do we have class on a Sunday!"

"This is so annoying!"

"But it’s your favorite medicine class today. I can’t believe you’re complaining," Gu Kaiwen said, looking at her with confusion in his eyes.

’The old Feng He would be ecstatic to hear it was medicine class. Does she not like it anymore?’

"I read medical books every day until I’m sick of them. Now I have to listen to a lecture, too. People get tired of things, you know," Feng He said with a long sigh, her face full of irritation.

Mo Xuan, standing beside her, saw her troubled expression. He reached out, patting her head comfortingly. "Just learn a little more. That way, you’ll know how to handle things if you run into them later."

"The more knowledge, the better."

Feng He nuzzled her head against his shoulder and mumbled, "I know, I know. I’ll study, alright?"

The two of them were being incredibly lovey-dovey. The others felt like they were being force-fed a public display of affection.

But the three of them were already used to it. They had often seen the two acting all clingy before.

When they got to the classroom, Feng He shut her mouth the moment she saw the teacher at the lectern. She even picked a seat near the back.

Seeing her act this way, the others looked puzzled.

’Doesn’t she usually sit in the front? Why the back row today?’

"Why’d you pick this spot?" Lin Jingjing asked, patting her on the shoulder after they sat down.

"The teacher up there is my mentor," Feng He said, lowering her voice. "She’s really strict."

"I’m scared."

’Oh, so that’s her mentor. No wonder she picked this seat.’

"A student seeing their mentor is like a mouse seeing a cat. I get it."

The female teacher on the stage scanned the crowd, and her gaze finally landed on Feng He in the corner.

This student had been recommended by Jiang Lusheng, and at the time, she had been unwilling to take her on.

She had thought that a little girl, still wet behind the ears, wanting to study medicine with her was just fooling around.

Besides, the girl had only been in school for a dozen or so years; forget studying medicine, she might not even be fully literate.

After the girl recommended herself several times, she decided to give her a chance.

Unexpectedly, the girl turned out to be quite a surprise. She could answer almost any question asked of her, and not only that, she could also extrapolate from the topic and clearly articulate her own ideas.

Perhaps it was because she saw the desire to study medicine in the girl’s eyes that she agreed to teach her.

Feng He felt the teacher’s gaze from the stage and shrank in her seat.

"Is she looking at you?" Shi Feng happened to look up and meet the teacher’s gaze. A second later, he quickly looked away and asked nonchalantly.

"Don’t be ridiculous. There’s no way the teacher is looking at me," Feng He retorted.

But after class started, Feng He was on the verge of tears. Because whenever her mentor, An Ni, called on someone to answer a question, she was guaranteed to pick her.

By the end of class, everyone knew one thing: Feng He was being targeted by the teacher!

When class ended, everyone’s gazes fell on Feng He, their eyes full of sympathy.

Feng He walked out of the classroom looking like life was meaningless. Lin Jingjing slung an arm around her shoulder, a smile plastered on her face.

"Not bad. Just as expected of Teacher An Ni’s best student. You answered so fluently."

"Teacher An Ni has another class tomorrow night. Good luck!" Lin Jingjing said, lightly patting her on the head.

Seeing her look of utter despair, Lin Jingjing burst out laughing again.

"Don’t be sad. Teacher An Ni calls on you because she has high hopes for you." As she spoke, she reached out and pinched Feng He’s cheek. She had been eating well recently, and Feng He’s once-sharp face had started to fill out.

Her cheeks were round and perfect for pinching. Her previously dry, dull-yellow hair had also become glossy and black now that her nutrition had improved.
