"You’re calling me a Great Witch?" Bingxin was taken aback for a moment before she couldn’t help but laugh. Since she was paralyzed, she couldn’t raise a hand to cover her mouth.

After a brief laugh, her tone turned cold. "I wish I were a Great Witch. If I’d been more ruthless, I never would have ended up in this state!"

Lin Xuan immediately read between the lines of her two short sentences. ’She wasn’t ruthless enough, so some enemy sealed her here instead of killing her. That’s rather intriguing.’

’If they were truly bitter enemies, why seal her away? It would have been easier to just kill her. There has to be more to this story!’

"You have to be ruthless. Make a clean break when you must, instead of hesitating!" Bingxin’s anger subsided, and her tone gradually calmed. "I won’t say any more about it. I, Bingxin, hereby swear an oath: if you can rescue me, I will not harm you in the slightest! If I break this vow, may my soul be annihilated!"

The moment she finished speaking, a ray of light emerged from her body and entered Lin Xuan, sealing the oath.

This was the first time Lin Xuan had ever witnessed an oath. Once made, it could not be broken. If the vow was violated, one’s soul truly would be annihilated!

This power was rumored to be a function of the Heaven and Earth Laws. As for the exact reason, no one knew. Such knowledge was far beyond their scope of understanding.

"Alright, I believe you. Tell me what to do," Lin Xuan said, not pressing further. ’Since she’s sworn an oath, what more is there to say?’

’If I can actually rescue Bingxin, it means I’ll have befriended an incredibly powerful expert. It might attract a host of her enemies, but as long as I keep my mouth shut, who would ever suspect she was freed by a mere Spirit Refining Stage cultivator?’

’Of course, that’s only if I can actually rescue her. Otherwise, it’s all just talk.’

"Some things are better left unknown. Knowing too much can cost you your life!" Bingxin’s tone softened slightly. "It’s not that I don’t want to tell you, but even if I did, you couldn’t help me. In fact, it would most likely get you killed. I can only say this: I ended up here because I showed a moment of compassion."

Her words sounded familiar to Lin Xuan; they echoed what Lin Hua had once told him. ’Until you have absolute power, knowing such things only brings you trouble, not motivation!’

Lin Xuan was somewhat curious about Bingxin’s story, but it didn’t matter if he never found out. He just wanted a reward from her; befriending a powerful expert wasn’t a bad deal either. ’After all, it’s her business. What good would knowing the details do me?’

’Help her just because she’s pitiful after being sealed for so long, or because she’s beautiful? What a joke. I’m not that kind of idiot.’

"I understand," Lin Xuan said. "I don’t want to waste any more time. Just tell me what to do."

"First, I need some Demon Beast Blood, preferably from a snake-type Demon Beast," Bingxin said.

"A snake-type Demon Beast?" Lin Xuan paused, then nodded. "As it happens, there’s a Cyan-Scaled Python right outside. I was planning to kill it as soon as I leave."

"That’s perfect. Kill the Cyan-Scaled Python and bring it in here. If your Cultivation isn’t high enough, there’s no need to rush. I’ve been here for so many years; I can wait a little longer," Bingxin said with a sigh. Having been sealed for so long, every day had felt like an eternity.

"That won’t be necessary. My current Cultivation is more than enough."

With a faint smile, Lin Xuan turned and walked out. Watching him go, a glimmer of hope appeared in Bingxin’s eyes. She truly hoped Lin Xuan could help her escape this hellish place so she could fulfill her heart’s desire.

After stepping outside, Lin Xuan saw the Cyan-Scaled Python patrolling nearby. It was clearly waiting for him. If his Cultivation hadn’t broken through, he truly would have been trapped; the python had been standing guard the entire time.

’Still out here, huh? Good. That saves me the trouble of hunting it down.’

Without hesitation, Lin Xuan passed through the barrier. An Elemental Power Shield instantly enveloped him, repelling the surrounding water. Now that he was at the Spirit Refining Stage, his control over Elemental Power had reached this level even without using Soul Possession.

The moment he emerged from the barrier, the Cyan-Scaled Python shot toward him like an arrow through the water!

"Cyan Cloud Step!"

Lin Xuan executed the Cyan Cloud Step, covering his legs in Elemental Power. A sharp glint flashed in his eyes as he stomped down, once again "climbing" toward the surface of the lake as if ascending a staircase. His speed was on a completely different level, even surpassing what it had been with the soul’s possession!

The gap in Cultivation between the Spirit Refining Stage and the Body Refining Stage was immense—a true qualitative leap. Compared to when Qing Liuyun’s soul possessed him, the only difference now was a lack of proficiency. But after experiencing it a few times, he had become much more skilled. The only thing missing was the technique’s true essence, but that was something that would come with time and more Cultivation.

STOMP! STOMP! STOMP!

Lin Xuan stomped hard on the water, shooting toward the surface. The Cyan-Scaled Python was still faster, but it was no longer closing the distance as rapidly as before.

SPLASH!

Lin Xuan burst from the lake’s surface, stomped hard in mid-air, and glided toward the shore. With his current Cultivation, he was perfectly capable of walking on air, but that required Soul Possession—an effect of the Late Stage Cyan Cloud Step. The Elemental Power it consumed was simply too astonishing to be worth it.

The moment he landed, the Cyan-Scaled Python erupted from the lake after him, its massive jaws snapping at him. It had no advanced techniques, relying solely on its speed and power—but those two things alone were more than enough.

The Dragon Cloud Rod was already in Lin Xuan’s hand, his expression one of perfect composure. Qi Force already enveloped the rod, and a faint red light glowed from the patterns etched upon its surface.

He was already poised to strike, preparing to unleash his full power in a single burst.

"HSSSSS~!"

The Cyan-Scaled Python, sensing nothing amiss, continued its charge and snapped its jaws at him. The fetid stench from its maw was as nauseating as ever.

"You haven’t brushed your teeth in a while. Allow me to clean them for you!"

Lin Xuan scoffed, a cold glint in his eyes. In that instant, he merged with the world around him, entering the Realm of the Unity of Heaven and Man. The charging python suddenly seemed to move in slow motion, the snarl on its face grotesquely clear.

Extreme Point Inch Light!

The Dragon Cloud Rod in Lin Xuan’s hand transformed into a streak of light, propelling him forward. With blinding speed, he thrust it viciously toward one of the python’s massive, incoming fangs.

BANG!

An extreme force of six thousand jin slammed into the fang, instantly shattering the massive, durable tooth into dust. The terrifying Qi Force then erupted into the creature’s mouth, blasting outward in all directions.

"HISSSSSS!!"

The Cyan-Scaled Python recoiled from the heavy blow. It only had two large fangs in its massive mouth, and Lin Xuan had just shattered them both. The residual Qi Force that had drilled into its mouth then exploded, leaving it full of blood.

Compared to the rest of its body, its mouth was clearly far more vulnerable. Lin Xuan’s explosive power had seen a massive increase from his previous limit, now reaching a full six thousand jin—nearly double his former strength!

Reeling from the blow, the Cyan-Scaled Python retreated in pain, its massive eyes filled with terror. After just one strike, it knew the human before it was far stronger than before—it was no longer a match for him.

Sensing its life was in danger, the python turned without hesitation and fled back toward the lake, all of its previous ferocity gone.

"Trying to run? Not so fast!" Lin Xuan scoffed, giving chase with the Dragon Cloud Rod in hand.
