Chapter 10: A Simple Word
With this sky lie on the ground felling the cold rocky ground in his back Enjoying what he was seeing and hearing but the array had more to say The sensory overload of the trial’s completion was finally beginning to recede, leaving behind a profound, bone-deep exhaustion. For a few fleeting moments, Sky allowed himself to simply exist. He watched the ethereal, shimmering fragments of the shattered nightmare dissolve into the dark atmosphere like dying stars. The gentle, rhythmic hum of the ambient mana filled the silence, a soothing melody that contrasted sharply with the brutal violence he had just barely survived. The phantom scent of iron and ozone still lingered in the air, a stubborn reminder of how close he had come to the edge. Yet, beneath him, the solid reality of the stone floor offered a strange sense of comfort. He closed his eyes, drawing in a long, ragged breath, determined to savor this rare oasis of absolute peace. He had earned this moment. He had fought through hell, bled from a dozen shallow cuts, and burned through every last drop of his mental stamina just to see the dawn of his survival.
But the array had more to say.
The tranquility was violently shattered as a sharp, crystalline chime echoed directly inside his mind, vibrating through his skull with uncomfortable intensity. The fading embers of light in the chamber suddenly coalesced, snapping back into focus with blinding speed. They rearranged themselves into sharp, glowing rows of runic script that hovered inches above his face, casting a stark, pale luminescence across his sweat-streaked features. The sheer weight of the sudden spiritual pressure made his chest tighten, freezing the breath in his lungs.
[Your evolution is different from others you will receive more power as you grow stronger the fate of your life and world lies in your hands]
Sky stared blankly at the floating golden script, the words sinking in with the heavy, sluggish weight of a stone dropping into a deep well. A cold, cynical smile tugged at the corner of his lips. The sheer absurdity of the statement was almost laughable. Fate? The world? He was just a single, insignificant spark trying to keep itself from being snuffed out in a vast, uncaring wilderness of monsters and gods. The universe loved to play grand games, but he had absolutely no intention of being its chosen piece on the board.
Well I am not trying to be a hero there are a lot of people out there so they should be bother with that not me "Let the saints, the monarchs, or whatever high-and-mighty champions the world has left deal with the apocalypse," he muttered under his breath, his voice raspy and dry from the dust of the cavern. "I just want to eat a warm meal, find a secure place to sleep, and ensure that my head stays firmly attached to my shoulders tomorrow. Is that too much to ask?" The array did not hesitate. The golden runes rippled like disturbed water, their warm hue shifting into a cold, ominous crimson that seemed to swallow the surrounding light.
[A Flaw has made his way into your soul.]
A sudden, sharp pang of anxiety twisted in Sky’s gut. The temperature in the cavern plummeted instantly, turning his warm breath into pale plumes of mist. The ambient hum that had been so comforting moments ago distorted into a low, grating frequency that made his teeth ache.
[You have received a Curse.]
His heart hammered against his ribs like a trapped bird. A curse. In this world, a curse wasn’t just a temporary debuff or a minor inconvenience; it was a fundamental alteration of one’s destiny, a permanent stain on the soul that often demanded a terrifying toll. He clenched his fists so hard his knuckles turned white, desperately trying to steady his chaotic thoughts.
’Please be positive, positive, positive...’ he prayed inwardly, a frantic mantra repeating in his mind. ’Maybe it’s just a standard drawback. A weakness to a rare element? A minor stat penalty in the sunlight? Come on, give me something I can work with. Don’t ruin this for me now.’
The crimson light grew blindingly bright, bleeding down the interface like fresh ink on parchment.
[A Negative Curse]
The hope that had flared up in his chest died instantly, replaced by a cold, leaden dread. The system was mocking him. It was dragging out the revelation, savoring the slow collapse of his composure.
[Your Curse is: ...]
Sky read the runes, and his eyes widened in horror.
’Oh, no. No, no, no...’
[Imperfect]
...
Negative Curse Description: [You are an imperfect soul, a flaw that should never have existed. Every Perfect Soul instinctively recognizes you as a threat.]
The words burned into his retinas, heavy with an ancient, absolute malice. It wasn’t just a physical affliction or a temporary seal on his magic. It was an existential condemnation.
What the hell do you mean by that why me so that means people might hate me or even try to kill me because of this sky bit his teeth hard
The raw injustice of it threatened to choke him. A flaw that should never have existed. Every powerful entity, every pristine being, every so-called "Perfect Soul" in this twisted world would look at him and feel an innate, unexplainable urge to wipe him from reality. He wouldn’t just be an outcast; he would be a universal target, a walking provocation to the elite of the world simply by breathing the same air.
So after everything I did trying to survive and when I think I gave made it now I am getting stuck again The bitter irony was suffocating. He had clawed his way out of the jaws of death, used every ounce of cunning, and pushed his body to its absolute limits to complete an evolution that was supposed to grant him freedom and security. Instead of a reward, he had been handed a cosmic death sentence. He was trapped in a perpetual loop of survival, where every victory only unlocked a deeper, more terrifying level of danger.
He sighed as he summon the array, his movements heavy and robotic as he forced his trembling fingers to call up his full status interface, desperately searching for some hidden silver lining, some forgotten trait that might offer a shield against the incoming storm.

The clean, unyielding numbers stared back at him, entirely indifferent to his despair. His attributes were powerful, his energy pool was full, and his potential was undeniable—yet it all felt completely overshadowed by the dark shadow looming over his very existence.
He closed his eyes, then opened them again, hoping that the runes would disappear. He took a slow, deliberate breath, counting to three, trying to convince himself that it was all an illusion brought on by blood loss and mental exhaustion.
But it was still there. The crimson letters remained suspended in the dark air, glowing with an unholy, mocking light.
Sky stared at just this one words, feeling like there was a bottomless abyss opening right beneath his feet. The array, which was usually frivolous with its descriptions, decided to be straight and on point this time. There were only just one words. They left him no room to maneuver. There was no clever loophole to exploit, no vague phrasing he could twist to his advantage. The system had laid down a brutal, unalterable law of his existence. He was a cosmic anomaly, and the world would hate him for it.
The sheer absurdity of the curse began to warp his terror into a volatile, chaotic surge of fury. The implications spun out in his mind, painting a bleak, ridiculous picture of his future.
So this mean that if I get a girlfriend she would try to kill me for crying out loud sky got up punching the air.
"Are you serious right now?!" he yelled at the empty, echoing cavern, his voice cracking with a mix of laughter and rage as his fist cut violently through the empty air. "A threat? An anomaly? I can’t even have a normal life! Every single person who looks at my soul is going to want my head on a spike! Is this some kind of sick joke?!" He paced around the rocky floor, his boots scuffing loudly against the stones. The anger burned hot in his chest, a desperate defense mechanism against the crippling despair that threatened to paralyze him. He wanted to tear the interface apart with his bare hands, to rewrite the cruel fate that had just been etched into his soul.
"Sh..."
Sky was about to scream and curse, ready to unleash a torrent of profanity at the uncaring gods and the array that governed them, but at that moment, the array spoke again.
The crimson runes abruptly shattered into a thousand tiny, needle-like shards of light. The dark chamber began to spin violently, the solid stone walls blurring into streaks of gray and black. A strange, crushing pressure clamped down on his consciousness, pulling him downward into a swirling vortex of shadows. The voice of the system returned, no longer echoing in his mind, but booming with a deafening, reality-shattering authority that demanded absolute obedience.
[Wake up, Skies!]
The words struck him with physical force, severing his connection to the dungeon realm entirely. The world went completely black, his strength vanished in an instant, and Sky collapse on the ground felling his soul floating once again.
