As the swarm descended upon the world, the first to bear the brunt of their assault were the Myriad Manifestations World legions scattered across the various battlefields.

After all, they were positioned at the outermost layer.

The Divine Descendants World legions and the Gallant Federation legions were both stationed in the innermost layer of this star domain battlefield. Even if the Insectoids wanted to target them first, they would have to wait a while.

As the terrifying, pitch-black colossus of death descended upon the star domain, not a single member of the Federation camp dared to stand in its way.

Presumably, they feared that by the time they flew over, the colossal entity would have already completed its descent, leaving them to become the target of everyone’s attacks.

The overlord-level beings on this star domain battlefield were not exactly die-hard loyalists of the Gallant Federation.

Everyone had their own interests. When the battle was going their way, everything was fine. But once the tide turned against them, they became far less reliable.

Take the two overlords from Myriad Manifestations World, for example. Upon sensing the terrifying Rank Eight colossus of death, as well as the presence of several overlord-level combatants within it, their first thought was to evacuate the battlefield.

Unfortunately, the war in the Divine Descendants Star Domain had already descended into utter chaos during the previous clash with the Dawn Empire.

On a battlefield where they were already deeply entangled, breaking free was no easy feat.

More importantly, the two overlords from Myriad Manifestations World were trapped deep within the Divine Descendants Star Domain.

If they wanted to break through and escape, they first had to shatter the encirclement set up by the newly arrived Insectoids.

Perhaps the Insectoids had sensed the two overlords’ intention to retreat.

They would never allow their prey to escape!

Due to its extremely high life level, the colossus of death moved slowly and had not yet managed to fully force its way out of the wormhole.

However, under the command of the Empress of Blades within it, the beast’s massive jaws slowly parted.

The first to emerge from its mouth was an overlord-level Bladeist, followed immediately by two figures, one tall and one short.

The taller one was a savage Thunder Beast with eight rows of fangs.

Its body was immense in its own right, though it looked almost dainty next to the colossus of death.

The shorter one was a dark-skinned Insectoid that bore a striking resemblance to a Swiftling.

Its blood-red eyes were frenzied and fierce. However, its right eye, whether blind or afflicted by some other condition, was a solid dark red.

The dense web of scars covering its body spoke of this Insectoid’s battle-hardened nature.

These three overlord-level Insectoids were among the Empress of Blades’ most trusted subordinates.

Among them, the Bladeist was the strongest. He was a male warrior insect directly modeled after the Empress of Blades herself.

Among the Insectoids, these Bladeists were a special guard unit whose overall abilities stood at the very top of the hierarchy, second only to the Empress herself.

The cost of training each Bladeist was astronomical.

At present, the Insectoids had only two overlord-level Bladeists.

In addition, the Empress of Blades also commanded a personal guard of roughly two hundred Bladeists, all of whom had reached Rank Four and above!

As for the Thunder Beast King and the Swiftling King, they were the only overlord-level rulers to have emerged from the various Insectoid sub-species so far.

Of the two, the Thunder Beast King was stronger, with a power level roughly at mid-stage Rank Seven.

The Swiftling King was weaker, being only at early-stage Rank Seven.

The Thunder Beast King possessed immense strength and staggering destructive power.

As the Insectoids’ most powerful heavy assault unit, Thunder Beasts made all other living creatures on the battlefield seem utterly insignificant the moment they appeared.

However, their slow movement speed was their greatest weakness.

Because of that, Thunder Beasts rarely fought alone in the Insectoids’ wars against external enemies. Whenever they rampaged across the battlefield, they were almost always accompanied by a massive swarm of insects to make up for their shortcomings.

In stark contrast to the Thunder Beast King, the Swiftling King was known for its extreme speed and tenacious vitality.

Therefore, even though the Thunder Beast King’s power level was one minor tier higher than the Swiftling King’s, it was still hard to say which of them would win in a direct overlord-level battle.

These were also the only two species kings currently among the Insectoids.

In fact, aside from these two, the Insectoids had many other species.

There was no need to go into detail about those rare insect species with peculiar and specialized abilities.

Just among the Insectoids’ main forces, there were the Barbed Viperas, Winged Drakons, Suicidal Beetles, Spiked Burrowers, Blattans, and so on. In truth, each of these species had the potential to produce an overlord of its own.

There were many factors preventing these major species from producing overlords.

The main reason was the Insectoids’ limited resources.

The Insectoids had an almost insatiable appetite for Tide Crystals. They needed to find more of these inert crystals to ensure the continued growth and expansion of their race.

This was especially true when it came to evolution. Without a stable supply of Tide Crystals, further evolution was simply impossible.

Back then, even after the Empress of Blades had mined every last Tide Crystal within the entire Magus Civilization, she had only managed to produce a single Rank Seven Bladeist and raise her own strength to Rank Eight.

Now that the Insectoids had gained three more overlords, it was clear that they had experienced new developments during their years away from the Magus Civilization.

Returning to the battlefields of the Magus Civilization in a much stronger form, the aid the Insectoids now provided surpassed even that of the Dragon Clan of the Immortal Realm!

An overlord-level Bladeist was the first to leap out from the maw of the colossus of death.

This colossus of death, which seemed utterly absurd to any living creature, was known as Fermont the “Deathspawn”.

It was a creature born from the laws of death. No one knew which star domain’s twisted and chaotic laws had given rise to such a peculiar entity.

After coming into contact with the Insectoids, Fermont had somehow established a symbiotic relationship with them.

Most of the time, Fermont drifted about in an unconscious state. It was extremely rare to see it fully awake.

The Insectoids had taken advantage of this to establish a complete hive system within Fermont’s body. Through some unknown means, they were even able to guide and control its movements.

The weapon wielded by the Bladeist was a razor-sharp spear fused to his left arm, while his right arm served as a shield.

Intricately patterned Insectoid scale armor covered the creature’s entire body.

His piercing gaze was one of the defining features of this overlord-level powerhouse.

At least in terms of aura, this Bladeist gave off a much calmer impression than both the Thunder Beast King and the Swiftling King.

Behind the Bladeist, the Thunder Beast King and the Swiftling King charged out, flanking him on the left and right.

Upon arriving on this star domain battlefield, the three Insectoid overlords headed straight for the two Myriad Manifestations World overlords who were attempting to slip away.

Their charge was relentless, and they showed absolutely no intention of negotiating with the Myriad Manifestations World overlords.

Obedience to Her Majesty the Empress was a command etched deep into the genes of the these Insectoids.

Even those that had become overlords would never dare to defy the orders of the Empress of Blades.

The Empress was their faith, the sole purpose of their existence.

If the Empress of Blades commanded them to die, the swarms would not hesitate for a single moment.

Such were the Insectoids—a race born for plunder and slaughter.

Acquiring resources, expanding without end, and multiplying ceaselessly were the innate instincts of the Insectoids.

However, in this generation, the Empress of Blades, as the leader of all Insectoids, shared a special bond with the Magus Civilization. Because of that, even when faced with wars that did not align with their own interests, the swarms would still charge headlong into battle.

The Empress of Blades, like Odin, the Divine King of Titans, possessed half Magus World blood.
